Dude, just played MvM for the first time on Mecha Engine and i can confirm the mode is really fun to play (Before someone asks, yes, i got kicked one time) and i got a golden botkiler flamethrower, of course, i went for australiums but hey, it is kinda gold so fair enough to me!
Very informative and well produced video! Mecha Engine is my most played tour at 19 and on the last one I got an Australium Rocket Launcher. I've also played a fair share of Two Cities. I'd like to try Gear Grinder but I have very little experience with Expert difficulty.
While I have gotten really lucky with loot on 2cities after playing around 28 tours, I started playing gear grinder more, and you were right. Gear Grinder with a coordinated team is some of the most fun I had in mvm. It not being as spam heavy as 2cities means you can play more outside the meta and still accomplish a lot with your team.

all in all i have over 2k tours, mostly on 2c and mecha, nearing 200 on gear grinder. 2c is such a drag but worst case scenario you can sell off ks kits or craft and sell spec ks kits and or craft spec ks into a good pro ks to sell for more tickets. recently traded 150 ks kits from alts i used to complete on and now im over $100 in community market funds to once again blow on 2c
Allegedly, Steel Trap has a higher australium drop rate. Never saw any evidence of this though, as even just gathering statistics requires thousands of tickets.
No, your luck is completely average! The fact that it is the most profitable tour only means you have a better chance to profit from it than from other tours. Tours are by no means a way to profit however, so make sure not to play them expecting anything than a loss. It is only eorth it if you're having fun playing MvM.

Gear Grinder and Mecha Engine are my favorites. I've gotten two diamond botkillers, and while they're not really worth much, I still love them.
