- Hello everyone, and thanks for watching this video. This is my cover of ‘One’ by Metallica. This is another original cover by me, meaning I meticulously edit and create all the instrument tracks, and every single note played. For those who are interested, this cover is in Eb standard compared to the original E standard. I used this tuning as Metallica typically plays with this live. Anyways, thank you for watching this cover and I hope you enjoy!

the bass is louder than on the album track and i love it
Thanks! I thought the bass might be better if it was audible compared to the album.
@@ZanMusicYT i still couldn't hear it though...
@@flaggyanimzMaybe listen a little closer, as it is very audible for most of this cover.
Finally a version of one that Jason can appreciate
@@interstellargaming2524it's horrible what the other band members did to Jason.
This must have taken forever 😨
Yes, it took more than a month for me to make this cover!
@@ZanMusicYTdamn
@@ZanMusicYTthat’s amazing👍
@@ZanMusicYT dam
Bro, i did this bandlab in like 3 days
Justice for Jason! You can hear the bass!!!
Theres a video out there titled And Justice for Jason check it out
@@syndrodomeYes, it’s very good!
seeing the icons on the left made me imagine people playing this song with a those instruments and it’s so cursed, makes me think of cream covering metallica
Next mission: do hangar 18 in garagem Band
I’ll see what I can do!
@@ZanMusicYT No way Bro really accepted It 💀, Good Luck there man because you will need It ✊😎🚈💨
@ZanMusicYT this oughta be a banger
I sounds like a 16 bit version of One, so freaking cool! 🔥
We need original music cuz this is banger
Thanks! I’ve been thinking about writing my own music for a while, but I think I may start soon with GarageBand.
@ZanMusicYT garageband is very versatile. You can use the virtual instruments to make any kind of music, so I say go for it :D
@@ZanMusicYT I write my own music using GarageBand. Over 2 years, I've come to master all aspects of it. I believe!
As someone who has used GarageBand extensively I can appreciate this Master Piece.
Thank you
Tip: if you use the guitar player, you can palm mute parts of the track in edit mode. this makes the heavier bits stand out more 😊
Thanks, I know this but decided not to do it for this cover.
@@ZanMusicYTand your timing is abit off ngl still good though 👍any tips for how to do stuff like this
@@driftstangaj9772its really not
No way it’s GarageBand
@@driftstangaj9772Timing is not off, everything is on beat with the metronome. You might be confused because of the various time signature changes throughout this cover.
Jesus. How do u do this?!?! Rad.
If you’re wondering, I just record each instrument track, then edit and fix any mess up’s I may have. This cover here took me around 1 month. Thanks!
@@ZanMusicYT thx
This is great I didn't think y'all where going to do the solo
Yes, the solo was very hard but I was able to use the keyboard instrument with the guitar sound. (This is why it may not be as good).
Keep goin🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you, I will
you def cooked here, great job im subbing
Appreciate that
This deserves millions of views
Thank you!
This is incredibly fucking impressive, like wow
Truly amazing.
Great Stuff bro imagine when you move to a DAW
Thank you! And I’m thinking about finding a good daw for me to use.
Slaps so hard
Thanks!
This is very good for a garageband cover of one, very clever you earn yourself a new subscriber. 👍👍🤘🤘🔥🔥
Awesome, thank you!

Nice work.

Omg! The guitar solo was PERFECT! 👌
Thank you!
Great job!
Thank you!

Wow just wow, i cant imagine how long this took. Great job keep it up!!!
I recognizate, this is a great job
Thank you!
if this had vocals it would go crazy but damn this is GREAT love that you can hear the bass this is so good
Thanks!
You must have put a lot of work into this, great job
A lot
still one of the best songs i've ever heard
Insane work, dude! Keep going.
Thanks!
Great work!
Thanks!
Wish I could do this you make it look so easy lol
sounds amazing. like if one was in the ost of doom 1993
Jaw is still on the floor
the work behind that is just amazing! But this version shows that human played music is much more than just pitch and rhythm, because althought this version sounds good, it just doesnt have any feel or grove and all sounds the same. your version really demonstrates this and it‘s interesting to think about this
Yes, there is a very big difference to make there. I do hope you still enjoyed this cover though!
@@ZanMusicYT yeah oc the amount of time programming that has to be enormous
This is a very good cover
Thank you!
@@ZanMusicYTYou know, I have AJFA on cassette. I never appreciated the album as much as the first three, and I never listened to the cassette as much either. I’m gonna try it today
@@UpTheIrons12Great, make sure to listen to ‘To live is to die’. It’s a beautiful and heavy ballad dedicated to Cliff.
Awesome!
Thanks!
This is amazing bro
I'm glad you like it
THIS IS SO GOOD !!
You earned my sub. as a person who plays all of these instruments. It is way harder to do this on garage band. You cooked
Thank you
yo this is actually amazing dude keep it up. also how did you get the guitar to the lower frets? i thought it only goes down to 15
probably keyboard
Yes, I used the keyboard.
That's amazing! Takes a lot of skill
Thanks a lot!
AWESOME MAN
I did something similar but with dream on. Its a bit messy but not terrible
The Kick sounds pretty cool. Wish there was that POWER, that OOF in the kick during the machine gun riff, but I understand that theres limits.
Yeah, i know what you mean. I really tried to make it hit harder, but there were some limits to it.
@@ZanMusicYT Its fine. Still sounds pretty cool.
Great! I got to sing the lyrics since it was instrumental lol
1/10. Bass is audible
I see, your just like Lars.
@@ZanMusicYT Lars is the greatest drummer ever
is that you lars
@@bassdude114 Ah fuck, you got me.
@@MuhammadAhmedMubashirI agree Lars is a great drummer as a massive Metallica fan, but i will say his ideas of mixing on the Justice album in particular were a bit absurd.
Nice job this is crazy
Charge your ipods, btw this is awesome man, really cool
Thanks!
if this doesn't deserve a sub i dont know what does cause this is fucking sick
Thank you!
@@ZanMusicYT no thank you for this master piece
Now cover 43% burnt by The Dillinger Escape Plan
I use GarageBand. Criminally underrated. Just wish mobile version had more features
Agreed!
@@ZanMusicYT I might have to do a full One cover myself. You inspired me
@@notzipfy916 Glad to be an inspiration for you!
@@ZanMusicYT how did you do the drums, by the way. It crosses different time signatures so I can’t really figure it out
@@notzipfy916I just look up a drum score for the song, and ignore the time signature changes. If you use the drum beat sequencer, you can make the drums more accurate.
How? 😭😭👍
One Mario Edition❤
4:34 when win freezes out aaahah
Yo you should the joker by Steve miller band 🙏🎸🔥
You are insane
Now do Holy Wars... The Punishment Due
I think I’ll start working on this one!
Are the drums programmed or played live? Because I tried doing this same cover many times and due to the time signature the drums were just a hell to make…
I used the ‘Drum sequencer’ for the drums in this cover. In my opinion for the time changes, i would just follow the drum score of the song and try to ignore the time signature changes.
Very cool, raining blood when?
Thanks, maybe sometime!
💯💯💯
can you teach me how to play like that? 💀
Maybe, as I’ve been thinking about showing people how I create my covers.
@@ZanMusicYTit would take me 5 years to make a song like this in garage band.
hi hat needs to open!
No, the drum beat for the entire song is supposed to have closed hi-hats.
@@ZanMusicYT If you listen to the drum track its like half open (i dont play drums so i dont know if there is a word for that)
@@jaxon1913.My bad, I just double checked the drum track and it should be open!
Что звучит приятно и схоже с живым звуком - барабаны. Остальное ну просто не возможно хорошо повторить в электронном виде
Спасибо, и я согласен, остальные звуки сложно воспроизвести в электронном виде.
how do you even use anything past the 12th fret on this stupid app i never could figure it out lol
For me, if there’s anything past the 12th fret, then I just take it over to a synth track and change it to a guitar sound. (For example, the end solo)
usually what i just end up doing is manually fixing the notes in the editor or doing it an octave lower. if i’m fixing it, i play the basic rhythm of the part just so that it’s easier to put the right notes in. i hate having unnecessary tracks lol
@@radioactive.redwood I do this too sometimes
That solooo🔥🔥🔥🔥💦
subbing
Thanks!
Metallica - …and justice for Jason
Yes!
Darkness
Imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Karaoke? 😂 Awesome man!! Logic pro = 10/10 skills
Omg
Why is it in eb running?
Good question, I used Eb tuning mainly for the reason that Metallica now plays most of their songs live in Eb, also I chose it because I think it gives it a better feel overall.
@@ZanMusicYT nice, when I did a GarageBand cover of One, I used Eb tuning. It sounded heavy!
@@ZanMusicYTwell they mostly play it in eb bc it's easier on James voice and it's easier to bend strings.
@JaBismarck Yes, this is also true.
this is by ear or by tabs on like songsterr or something?
Kind of both, as I know the song by heart on guitar, but for the parts I forgot I simply looked up the tab.
Show you making the songs
Been thinking about it, I’ll have to try it some time.
How did you make more measures
You click on the ‘settings’ gear icon in the top left, then it will say “Section A”. Click on this box and it will allow you to add as many measures as you like! Hope this helps
@@ZanMusicYT thank you man
@@Spells1 No problem
5% airpods is true
and justice for jason
the drums better than lars😭
real
To Live Is to Die >> one
I like both, but in my opinion one is a bit better and more of a classic Metallica theme.
@@ZanMusicYT i respect ur opinion, dude
Where bass?
nice
this is awfully similar to a midi i found...
Yes, I used a midi to give me a starting basis with this cover.
now cover holy wars
Got it
The guitar sounds like a robot. No feel
can’t control this, i tried my best for a decent guitar sound. GarageBand has its limits.
6/10. Maybe add some chorus to the clean guitars. Bass, palm muting and vocals are needed too. Maybe turn down the distortion guitars, they were quite high. Find some strong drum sounds too, I found them a bit weak. The 'Darkness' bit onwards was also a bit slower, so I'd make another project with that tempo and add it to the slow bit. It's good though, I can see the guitar and drums parts are accurate. A few tweaks can always help a song.
Thanks for the feedback, I didn’t use palm muting on the guitars as I used a synth track for all guitars. I was going to use vocals, but they were a bit too overpowering in the final product. I realized halfway through this recording that some of the distorted guitars were too loud, so I muted one track. Also, considering the end section of this, the reason it is a bit too slow is that I made this cover in only one project, so I had to have a set tempo. With the drums, I experimented with multiple different sounds. (SoCal, Heavy, Live Rock Kit, Bluebird, etc.) I found the ‘heavy’ drum kit to be the best for the Tom fills as well as the very present double bass drum. Finally, I already added a ton of chorus to the clean guitars as well as eqing them a lot in this song.
@@ZanMusicYT Using the actual guitars are a lot better, they sound heavier and palm muting is an option. If the vocals and guitars are too overpowering, experiment with the mixing, I think you'll get a good result. For a punchy drum sound, I recommend using Retro Rock for hi-hats and rides, Bluebird for snares at toms (full velocity is way better) and SoCal with scooped mids for crash and kick. For the chorus, 16% intensity and 64% mix makes it sound nice and woozy.
This is what I used when I covered 'One'
0/10 I can hear bass.
as ın the original lol
all you did was download a midi and screen record it bro you aint slick
i know because i've literally downloaded the exact same midi before for a joke and like half the notes are wrong lmfao
This is not fully true, as I started with the midi but then transformed it to my own cover of this song. I added many things and it is not just ‘downloading the midi and screen recording it’. It is much more than this.
bro just downloaded a midi and run it with garage band💀
no, i used the midi as a starting basis and then transformed it to my own cover
Out of rythm and the guitar doesnt match xD good try tho.
It’s not out of rhythm, and the guitar sound has its limits in GarageBand.
play a real guitar buddy
i can play the guitar, quite well actually.
