I just realized something: guitars have six strings but the word "guitar" has six letters. So if a bass has four strings and there are four letter in "bass", then does that mean this three-string-guitar would be called "ass"?

That does look really comfortable to play! I would love to see you have your own signature 7-string in this size of guitar! Loved the references to some of your older/classic videos. The Oxford Djent and How to be Djent were some of the very first ones I ever watched of yours. Brings back good times. 💖
Also, I love how you included some old footage of you from around when you first started playing guitar. It's so interesting to see. Honestly, I always wish I could've been the age you were back in 2003 (I was only 6). But at the same time I'm sure it was much harder to learn guitar back then. 😅

Honestly, as someone that has played bass for 20 years but is just learning guitar now, the two instruments are so different in every way other than physical resemblance that the skills only kinda roughly translate to each other. To anyone that wants to play guitar, start with a guitar and don't think of bass as an "easier" guitar and if you wanna play bass start with a bass and don't let people get ya down about it being "easy" because the instrument in reality is just as complex as guitar but in different ways.

Dude, there was a way worse beginner guitar before your day. Back in my day I owned it. 1985 and the body was about 1" thick, the pickup was top mounted the bridge was like and upside down ashtray and sucked BALLS! It had this burst paint job and kind of I guess a country design. It was given to me by a friend of my mothers. But I truly believe it was meant to be a weapon in a bar to break up fights from drunks after a rodeo? Not sure. But your first guitar is killer! I'd mod it today. Let me rad it out for you. Ill make you love it again.

My first was an 80s era strat that I got from a pawn shop in the 90s. Took me forever to make 260$ as a teenager, but I made soooooo much noise with that thing and my little peavey rage 108 amp. Still have the stratocaster in the closet (it's retired). Lost that amp in a fire sadly.
Dave Dederer was right all along! (The Presidents of the United States of America made one of the great albums of the 90s with a two-string “basitar” and a three-stringed “guitbass”.)

5:57 As someone who regularly plays the guitalele, 3/4, and full-sized guitars I confirm that shorter scale lengths are very underrated. Smaller guitars are awesome and very comfortable to play.
A total shock to me finding out my Guitalele is a blues machine! and I built two 3-string cigar box guitars, because I was told 6 strings is 3 strings too many! :0),

looks like a fancy cigar box guitar, which ive played fror 15 years, you should try some of them, 3 strings, cigar box, simple instrument, amazing sound, or even a diddley bow, a 1 string guitar

My first guitar was a squier strat, and it came with the little fender amp. It was decent, but like yours, the constant tuning killed it for me, and the other issues just made it hard to play until I got my second guitar, which was so much better. This is a cool idea for kids, though! I mean, 3 strings would probably look way less intimidating than a full 6.

So, buying your first guitar can be tricky. You probably don't want to buy a super expensive guitar if you're not sure you'll stick to it but you can't go too cheap either. It needs to be a stable instrument that keeps a good tuning an isn't terrible in any way. $150 should definitely get you there these days.
I started playing 30 years ago and there were plenty of options even back then. Squires and Epiphones were both already making cheaper guitars. Ibanez ha cheaper guitars, you could buy a Kramer back then. Maybe you had to check a few pawn shops but they were there. Now it's much easier though. Guitar Center will have every price range from below $100 to above $10,000. The problem was it was much more difficult to be aware of what was available. You had to buy magazines.
