Happy Sunday funday Tyler/Jake/ Becki. Question for you wonderful individuals. 414 miles in, and my Himalayan takes 5 to 6 attempts to start. Using the choke or air intake on the left next to clutch....3rd attempt is when starts. 4th attempt it goes into higher idle...1600rpm. 5th attempt....goes into higher idle 2000 RPM. After 2-3 minutes running...shuts off. 6th attempt...starts fine, goes into high idleand then kicks down to 1200rpm but bounces consistently between 1200 and 1600 rpms. After 6- 8 minutes idling...shuts off again. Is it relay time?
@@CurlyWolf_ The dealer.... They want $700 for 300 mile service. Good chance this Himalayan will break my knuckles. I've watched the 2 relay replacement videos. Also resetting the voltage on the throttle position sensor. My crankcase is so full of oil, you cannot see through the window unless you lean the bike to the left. I put it on center stand and used a torpedo level to ensure I wasn't listing sideways myself. My dealer is like the RE in Charlotte. ( Is that your dealer). 414 miles...I will change oil, filter, iridium plug, those 2 relays and attempt to adjust Tappets( valves). Throttle position sensor also because my idle fluctuates and that's not Kosher. Refuse to pay 100 dollars an hour for someone who is in training at the cycle centers. Appreciate your videos and input. Sometimes we just need to share our thoughts to come up with a plan. I believe with proper upkeep, the RE's will go 20- 30 years no problem. I actually thought I'd be riding more offroad in Vegas but not so. The Himalayan has only seen asphalt. Hope that 350 fires up today. Did you wrap a blanket around her last night Jake? Were roughly 54 to 64 for daily temperatures.
@@edwardkaminsky8142 that is way too much for the 300 mile service. The two dealers around me it's around $300. We're in Cincinnati so we've got a dealer in KY and a dealer in Columbus. As for the 350, it's still not firing but we're going to try today and bring some heaters even though it's going to be in the 60s today.
yall are getting in too deep with a simple no start. I can tell by how you are dressed that the bike is too cold. Old bikes like this do not want to start if its cold out and its been sitting a long time. The cylinders are dry and its reducing compression. 1. GET THE BIKE WARM 2. MAKE SURE THE AIR BOX IS ON. Carbed bikes need the airbox to start properly. The airbox increases vacuum, more vac = more fuel. 3. pull the plugs and clean them with carb cleaned. They are probably fouled with junk after all these no starts. 4. half a tablespoon of thin motor oil in each spark plug hole. rip the starter until oil stops shooting out of the plug holes. re-install the plugs. 5. Get a can of starting fluid. it doesnt matter what kind. shoot into the air cleaner for 1-2 seconds then try to crank it. It might take a few tries for it to stay running but it will catch. keep it running for 5-10 minutes until the rings get nice and loose. They are likely semi-captured by the piston right now. A good heat soak should get everything moving again. 6. Tell jake to sell the cb350 and buy a dr350 like i told him to get in the first place.
Pull one spark plug at a time, press the end of it on the fins of the cylinder, press the start button. Are you getting Spark on both sides?? Blue spark! if not, start there.... No spark, no start...
Air, spark, gas...? Sounds like it's there.
To much air or gas on the carb adjustment?😢?

That sounds like it could be relay related. Have you taken it to the dealer for the ECU update?
