Thanks! I hadn't watched this in a while, and I really enjoyed it. When I was in my 20s I kind of looked like Cat Stevens but I could never sing like him.
There would be nothing wrong with C D C D as long as you play the rest of the song a step lower, or put a capo on the 2nd fret. Anyway, I'm glad I could help. That's why I make my videos.
You're probably right, but I don't think I'd be a very good teacher, which is why I didn't do that. Let me know if you have any specific questions, and I'll try to answer them.
@@jlforrest I appreciate your quick reply! Let me take a swing at it tonight by watching your video closely a few more times. I'll probably have some specific questions then. p.s. you'd make a GREAT video teacher because you have figured it out with open tuning - that's what I like about your version
@@jlforrest Precisely why I like your version. I'm trying in regular tuning in key of E. There's only 1 tutorial on youtube and it has a capo on the 2nd fret (and a left-hand guitar) - still in E but using G, C and D shapes. I want to play it without the capo. Thanks for the replies.
Just the intro... played 4 times... BC# lead up to D and a AB lead up to E. What 4 notes are you picking out in the D and E ? Are they the same or different at times?
this was really helpful, thank you!

How can i tell you and if i laugh
I'll try to pick up on what you're doing - but it would have been nice if you'd made this a tutorial

@@donlawler9510 As far as I know, I'm playing it just like Cat Stevens did, including the tuning.
What tuning have you been trying to play it in?
