Hi Chris, I just wanted to thank you very much for this amazing lesson of this beautiful song. After a long time not having the chance to pick up my guitar I really enjoyed diving into this song with your guidance 🙏🏻
I have waited for someone to give a tutorial of the wind ... I had the bit after the intro already ... and nothing else...this is epic ....thank you man 🤙
This is pretty decent. You’re a great explainer. Clear and accessible. Only one thing I would suggest and this would make it arguably the best tutorial on this song on UA-cam: try to find a way to put up the tabs as you go along! 👍
I would like to see more Yusuf / Cat Stevens songs please! As a beginner of about a year and a half, this was my first full fingerpicking song I practiced and I can play it decently enough (at least for me lol) after a month! My struggle is I can't seem to sing along with it quite well yet. I find it way easier with strumming, but not fingerpicking and I wonder why. Perhaps it's just a matter of time and practice? Overall, your video has straightforward and simple instructions that I found easy to go through. I liked that you didn't overlook simple details that does make it sound better and more like the original song. Thanks for this tutorial!
This is the best of tutorials available online. It is excellent for learning the guitar part. My only gripe is that he does not spend some time lining up the vocals with the guitar. This is fairly difficult, especially in the chorus. Most people probably want to sing as they play.
It sounds great, but confusing in that you’re switching back and forth between calling the strings as they are (B, E, A, G, etc.)(4:56 for example) and their numbers (4th string, 5th string, 3rd string, etc)(3:33, for example). To make it even more confusing, you refer to the higher E (when I say higher I mean higher pitch, not higher on the neck) as the “top string,” even though it’s at the bottom if you’re looking at it from a player”s perspective (4:52 for example.) I appreciate the video, but maybe stick to 1 description of which string? Ideally call the strings by their notes (E, A, D, G, B, E) as that is something all guitar students should learn anyway. Cheers!
This was a terrible tutorial in my opinion. Yes you had the song down perfectly but unfortunately you are so hard to follow. You should really put tabs up there and the shapes you’re making. Very very hard to understand what you are trying to get me to do and you move so fast.
Great Lesson; however, in some of Cat (Yusef) Steven's more recent concerts, the second guitarist plays the intro with a capo at the 7th fret -- way, way easier and sounds eqully good.
This is the music that made me want to play the guitar 3 years ago. So amazing!
You’re one of the best…explain and teach impeccably clear! Thanks for the work.
Thanks a lot for the kind words Patrick, appreciate it

Thanks a lot, would love to put the tabs on screen but it breaks copyright laws
@@SixStringFingerpicking Ah. Gotcha! How come other guys on here get to put them up? Do the copyright laws not apply to them? 🤔

When he says fiddly he means it will take you a year to get it right 😅
