I also think it’s worth noting that black women protect her because her aesthetic feels attainable/realistic to them too. When happily married women with a cottage core/high end fashion or altogether different aesthetic like operation nikki, fem fancy, or nara or many others make cooking videos, black women do crying wall slides about how thats not “real life” or “not attainable” or anti-feminist. But somehow adding a twerk and being single makes it attainable for them all of a sudden 😂😂 So we also have to acknowledge how the media has brainwashed us into thinking this is the most accurate, achievable aesthetic for us. And that people in happy marriages with nuclear families covered up is just “so unrealistic”. We don’t believe we can do things like build a nuclear family and cook while not being sexualized. This is representation that feels safe and attainable for us too sadly
This is an intelligent response, you absolutely get it. I have noticed this as well, she looks like a typical baddie aesthetic which black women feel comfortable with and the “ I can take your man” stuff she does is something I’ve noticed about women similar to her doing as well. A lot of black women get their self-esteem from men hence why they defend this/her. Not a girls girl at all.

Finally a balanced and leveled headed commentary on all of this. And especially about the women who are running to her defense. Most of them were never girls girls, it’s just about going with the popular opinion so they aren’t seen as haters. We should all be able to think for our self and have our own opinions. I too mostly seen women supporting more than any haters. I think people really just ran with that narrative. It’s another reason to bash women. Chrissie doesn’t miss 🙌🏾

Fr....no shade to Chrissie cuz hot topics is her job but all these ppl on Twitter writing think pieces on whether Kya is a girl's girl or not is literally helping her do what she set out to do. She prolly don't even care about men's attention like that...all she needs is controversy to blow up. And she did.
She did it perfectly. She created content to make women hate her and men love her. Men love this false competition she's created among other women. She even created a jingle, "cooking with Kya, cooking with Kya. It's marketing at its finest. She's a genius! I even heard a guy say, "she's not even that attractive, she's average looking and seems giving and kind and that's all we really want".
@charminglove8594 She's young, she might be cleaning up debt. Life goes on, it will eventually get old. I just don't take her seriously but ya'll make her such a big deal.
@DarkroomMedia007 I just hope the money she gets from this is worth it. She needs to be putting that into some index funds or a high interest savings account. Cause it's going to get old quick. She can be called basic but her money won't be if she plays her cards right.
I have no dog in this fight but and honestly feel like this whole situation has blown way outta proportion for no reason. But I will say her type of content usually it's a short shelf life because who the hell wants to always cater to dusty men? They are a fickle audience
I heard about her just before this happened. There's a young guy who does reaction videos in a silly way, and it got stuck in my head, too, lol. Everyone in the comments (mainly women women) were bigging her up, so I'm like, where is all this hate that these dudes are talking about.
You are correct. That dude was spot on with the differences between the women. One looking relatable and the other not so much. 💯 If someone is relatable that will pull the average person in.
I couldn't put my finger on it at first but that's just it. She looks like home girl in the hood that be selling plates with food stamps. No hate, no shade.
Off topic: Hey Chrissie, can you make a video highlighting how black people (black men especially) are treating travis Hunter the new NFL player and his mixed girlfriend vs how Simone biles was treated a year ago when her light skin husband said he wasnt into her at first? This would be a great way to highlight how black men and women are both being sold a different message by the black community when a red flag in a relation ship is shown. Many people are telling Travis Hunter ( new upcoming dark skinned average looking NFL player) to leave his mixed race hispanic fiance because she said she wasnt attracted to him at first. However, I most definitely recall the same black communriy telling Simone Biles (the bread winner) to stay with her light skinned green eyes husband even though he had the same thoughts about his lukewarm attraction to her. There is alot of parallels with both of the relationships but they both got a different response by the general public.
Black people were trying to brainwash black women and simone biles to be in a "Black Love" situation but yet now theyre telling Travis Hunter to run for the hills and leave his biracial preference. Hmm 🤔? But i thought biracial women were just as black as black women?? So why shouldn't Travis Hunter stay in the relationship to uphold Black love as well??
I didnt see anyone telling simone biles to stay they were dragging her husband and calling him mr simone biles they even exposed his old tweets and proved he knew exactly who she was before they got together even tho he said he didnt know who she was in that interview , SHE defended him , but ppl absolutely dragged him to hell after that
I saw black men defending it by saying “yall like sexy redd but not her”. I knew absolutely mothing of this woman but that example was absolutely stupid. It could easily be reversed by saying they hate sexy red but not her. I think pretty 😍 privilege is in full affect. Old ice spice was a lil out there too but she was never called a thot. Igs if you are pretty guys don’t really care
I don’t think women are jealous her. We’re just calling her out for her behavior which is very desperate. She’s putting down women by saying she can take the man. No man can be taken. They choose to go where they want.
Although I agree I do not like women who know he's not single and purposefully pursue a taken man either. I won't be friends with them either. The behavior is disgusting to me.
I always thought this was just a marketing scheme and honestly, a dang good one. As someone who content creates, I completely understand knowing and catering to your target audience.
Right so many families in the black community even if married are very matriarchal.like how grandmas or aunts pass people lose it or are lost due to them being so of service their whole life.
This is why dramatic men are so annoying. I’ve had a guy say this weird ish to me too and it’s so corny. “You’re the ONLY one, I’ve NEVER seen other women do this and that.” Like why are you lying? And if you aren’t, you just weren’t someone a woman wanted to do that for. Hell, I’m not even in a relationship with women and they are the main ones offering food to me and being of service. It’s so lame how society swears women are this and that and women who cook are rare. Just say no one is doing anything for YOU and keep it moving. It is very old. Also, I’ve seen too many men who do the whole “let me praise you and insult other women for no reason” thing all my life. If you start working out here one comes with “I never seen women do this like you” You don’t wear make up. “I never seen women not wear make up like you” like sir, please, just stop. They say the weirdest things just to stir the pot.

This is mainly because they are single and miserable orrrrr their not genuinely attracted to their current partner, trustttttt meeeee!!!!!

And that’s why brothers are procreating with non melanated women😆all yall care about is money, no morals, no integrity, no self respect, not family oriented
Why would you want a man who can be easily taken away from you just because another woman can cook? This seem kind of silly to me to be honest, but after Chrissy explained it, I can kinda understand why blow effort, bare minimum BM our flocking towards Kya. I gotta give her props for her marketing scheme and pandering towards the black male gaze. I think people need to realize not every person on social media is for them and the ones that aren’t you just kinda have to let it go.
The demos stay giving back handed, what they believe to be compliments. The one thing that always has to be on deck for a woman to deal with them is low self esteem. Decode “looks relatable” to mean “will take a broke dude”.
They may get picked but in the end they won’t get chosen. They usually go for women who don’t play that mess, but deep down they know they can’t have them.
Do y’all realize the low quality men that are behind the views and comments of most of this stuff. Guaranteed if you saw them you wouldn’t want them. Don’t be pressed.
EXACTLY she’s 23 according to what I read and she looks it. I don’t believe younger black men her age trolling black women is probably the older black men the most.
She’s popular because she’s attractive with a pick me mindset. The Pick me mindset is popular amongst black men. This is why a lot of the married women who give dating advice usually gear towards that mindset. I was raised by pick me women and all of them are married. Does this attract good men? No. It’s not supposed to. It’s an easy way to either finesse or get married for the sake of being married.
During the pandemic I cooked three meals a day like a short order cook I think cooking should be reserved for children and provider men Cooking is definitely a skill Esp HEALTHY and tasty cooking
There's also a colorism component here, that I'm surprised that Chrissie didn't mention. If Kya was dark-skinned, would she be getting all of this praise from black men?
I didn’t mention colorism because regardless of skin tone, I don’t think Kya would get praise from black men (if she weren’t twerking and pandering to them) mainly because of her facial features. Kya isn’t dark skinned and still has to do a lot to get recognition. Colorism isn’t a major part of the discussion in my opinion.
I don’t really see her as a light skinned girl tbh. Unless she considers herself light skinned I wouldn’t consider her light skinned if I saw her on the street.
@@melissasavage5996 I consider her to be light skin. Anything light brown is light skin to me, but she does not have the facial features most black men like.
Honestly, I think the women hating on her are very weird and insecure. The level of jealousy some women feel towards women who are attractive to men is heinous and embarrassing. She’s young, cooking fairly basic meals. If you can lose your man’s attention to that, then maybe he’s not the right man for you 😂 Men like cooking with Kya because she looks accessible to them. You don’t need to do too much to attract a woman like her. There’s plenty of attractive women cooking on TikTok, but they’re cooking in big, expensive kitchens and they look put together.
@@ChosenChild-j9iI’m sorry, but they are 100% jealous. That level of vitriol, calling her ugly and basic etc is jealousy. And so what if what she’s saying is weird? I said the same thing the dude in this video said. "She looks attainable, and not intimidating." She has a natural body, no make-up, regular home, simple dialogue. I can go on, but you get it😉
I love Kya so much! She’s young, beautiful, and clearly knows how to get the bag. I just hate how she’s being used as an item for men to be inconsistent with what they want. If Kya didn’t fulfill their gaze, she would be treated like Sexxyy Redd or any other woman they feel is “ratchet”.
So, all of a sudden twerking and weave is not the problem, because they don’t seem to mind when Kya was doing it.

Lol. Black men are saying Black women are jealous of cooking with KYA, yet Black men were jealous of "REIGN THE PITBULL", a literal DOG.😂😂😂😂

They were so pressed over a dog
Like a damn Dog seriously😭😭🤦🏽♀️
I also think it’s worth noting that black women protect her because her aesthetic feels attainable/realistic to them too. When happily married women with a cottage core/high end fashion or altogether different aesthetic like operation nikki, fem fancy, or nara or many others make cooking videos, black women do crying wall slides about how thats not “real life” or “not attainable” or anti-feminist.
But somehow adding a twerk and being single makes it attainable for them all of a sudden 😂😂
So we also have to acknowledge how the media has brainwashed us into thinking this is the most accurate, achievable aesthetic for us.

I heard the same thing on a Facebook thread. that's a backhanded slap in the face if I've ever heard one.

I just logged into Facebook and that was the first post. Men saying that she’s unattractive. I honestly think she is pretty though

Off topic:
Hey Chrissie, can you make a video highlighting how black people (black men especially) are treating travis Hunter the new NFL player and his mixed girlfriend vs how Simone biles was treated a year ago when her light skin husband said he wasnt into her at first?
Facts
Wow. Great observation!!!

Kya and Sexxy Redd are in the same category so I don’t understand why anyone is bothered by her. 🤷🏾♀️
Because bm don’t like Sexxy redd.

Exactly, this was a very smart social media strategy on her part, and it clearly worked.
Had no clue who she is. I love my TikTok algorithm. I only see farmers and people living off the grid. 😅
This whole scenario is odd to me. I dont know too many black women that dont cook for their family or man….
