I love how raw you kept it in this video. Sometimes things don’t work out exactly how we want them to, but it doesn’t mean we aren’t leaning or growing. I’m usually a 2-4 hermit, but covid made me a 7-8 hermit and I DONT LIKE IT.

Honestly all I have are ~vibes~ and characters for my novels so you’re better off than me. Can’t believe we’re on season three of this series. I am like a hermit 10 cause I never talk to anybody and I was a hermit 10 before the pandemic sooooooo
Not sure if this works in creative work space, but maybe if you already know yourself well and know your patterns, you could decide to just take 4 days or however much you feel is necessary and step COMPLETELY away from you projects and just unwind fully. And I mean FULLY. No worrying about deadlines, no writing a word, no editing. Nada. And whilst you're in this headspace of relaxation, build up the feeling and get into the zone that when you get back, you will be 120% invested into writing again and there's nothing to stop you! That way maybe you can at least relieve some of the tension that builds when you have these conflicting emotions, that does nothing but further your anxiety and procrastination. Just a thought 😁

I’m a level 9 hermit….was a level 6 before pandemic…and as for my WIP…I took a break at the pandemic b/c i wrote during my commute and i no longer had a commute….then i got pregnant and now, with as super busy/mischievous almost 1 y/o and a 6 y/o…I have no clue where to find the time to get back to it….it’s been 2 years since I touched it…I’m almost afraid to look…

Yes! Distractions are bad when writing. I just turn my social media notifications off and I put them on, on Fridays, and then they go off again. 🤣 Then, I scroll social media once a month, that way I don't get to wrapped up in it. It helps, though, because social media is very addicting.
I was a level 7-8 hermit and now I'm level 10, but that has nothing to do with the pandemic and is all because of work and family issues. It would be nice to be back to a 7-8.

But the differences may have been caused by the fact that I had just started university when covid happened. So I had moved away from home, moved back for a year, and then moved away again? So there hasn't been a steady structure to my life situation for like 3 years?

I'm so sympathetic to your pupper struggles. The first dog I adopted on my own also struggled with separation anxiety and I also got meds to help with her stress, but the best thing I did that helped was start taking her to doggy day care even if I was able to stay home, just so she got to see other people. She really began to love it.
Yes! Bellamy loves daycare!! It’s literally only when there’s no human around that he really starts to panic. Im sorry you had to deal with the stresses of pupper separation anxiety too. Oof ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just watched the whole series! I did a project over a book of my choice, and I so happen to pick up: Again, but better. I loved it, and just had to search you up! Suddenly, my need to write a book comes back and now I can’t stop watching your videos. :)
I’m shocked over how honest and open you are as an author. This is something I’ve always wanted to do and see. I never knew how to write a book or if anyone carried for the same topics.

We've got a springer x labrador and things that helped were:
- walking out the room and closing the door, coming back in when they stop whining
- leaving the house for 5 minutes and coming back, playing with them etc. Like positive reinforcement when you get back. Increasing the time as you go yakkow?
- having the radio on in the background
- getting a big bone for them to chew
- leaving something that smells like you with them - even just sleeping with a tea towel for a week and putting it in their bed or whatever really helps
- Facebook groups specific to Bellamy breed - this is the MOST valuable tool we had with Rosie (and tbh where most of the above tips came from)

I know that feeling of trying to get back into a book after letting it sit for too long. Not fun. During this pandemic I’m definitely a level 10 hermit, work from home and intracart is a bestie. But I do miss a game night I used to have with friends so I think I’d gladly go back to level 7-8 when possible.
This probably isn't meant to be a positive, but this vid makes me want to just not sleep and just write instead ~ side note, carpal tunnel is a bitch, waiting to get a neurology test so I can qualify for the surgery :)
