Thank you for your videos, they are inspired me to turn my Fluval flex into the planted tank. Already ordered Tropical soil powder and a bunch of plants from 1 2 grow.
For the future, would it be possible for you to choose as your next project to upgrade your Fluval flex? I would like to see what you will change in order to grow some of the more demanding plants. The main confusion is lighting as all UA-camrs keep on talking that this plant requires medium light or high-intensity light. But in reality, when you go online to buy lights for your aquarium they do not have labels medium or high-intensity light, they write Watts, Lumens, color temperature, and so on.
If this planted tank will turn to be a success, I really wanna try to keep some plants from medium or advance category
As I have already mentioned, the right person in the right position often explains the appropriate preparation for aquaristics. Very nice material. Best regards from Poland.
Hi George, great work. I think this Kind of tank is right for most People out there, could prevent many from giving up.
Was Great to See the Way and Steps of this Aquarium.
A wonderful journey to this Point.
Thank you.
What i miss to find is a Aquarium with Mooswall mixed with a lot Colors from the Plants.
I See only One in the last 10 Years with Great Colors and Scape.
I miss something like that in the Scapes.
Have a awesome a Week.
Beautiful tank...plants are so amazing...keep it up
Very informative and beautifull tank, bro... 👍👍
Look how lush the final results are. I'm glad you also showed the areas you had to do some troubleshooting in and that helps me when I need to recognize areas and how to use targeted solutions to bring the aquarium into balance. I really enjoyed that this was a basic setup and following this along really helps me on my projects! Thanks George.. I hope you have an amazing day!🐟🌿🌱🙏👍
learning from the Best Mary :)
@@AussieAquatic thank you Colin... George is just amazing.. I cannot wait to get his book in November.. you are absolutely wonderful I'm so glad I found You because you are one of the best too my friend.!!🤗🙏❤️🐟🌿🌱
@@marypaigeflynn4512 you can't go wrong in the plant community :)
Nice update
Beautiful!!
Yeah people jump into aquascaping and think you must have Co2 and expensive lighting but this shows that for a relatively low budget you can have a wonderful looking lush scape in your home.
You can only do that with colder water temperature. "No CO2" will not work in tropical countries where water temperature is in the 28 to 32C range because passive CO2 dissolution rates are too low in warmer waters.
CO2 injection will benefit the plants even in a low tech setup. We advise beginners to invest in CO2 equipment as a priority because CO2 injection makes plants grow fast and robust: this fixes/mitigates most issues beginners have and gives them confidence in pursuing the hobby further.
You're right, aquascaping can be relatively inexpensive yet as Andrew said, for the best results a nutrient boost will always come in handy!
Really nice from a distance, but it looks like there is quite a lot of GSA on the leaves? It's hard to avoid if the plants are slow to grow and directly under the light, but it would be nice to have your take on this. Is this avoidable, is this a problem over the long term, etc.? Nice project anyway, cheers!
Hi Thomas. Well spotted! Indeed we had some issues with algae we're still tackling. As it was an experiment tank we wanted to let the tank go wild for a while which also meant we'd need a bit more time to stabilize it again. With regular maintenance, proper lighting (in this case it would need an update as its already quite old) and nutrition you shouldn't run into the same issues. Thank you for the feedback and good luck with your future projects!
How often and what amount of Specialised Nutrition did you fertilize?
Nice series, thank you for posting. I'd like to ask, between the two carpet plants, which one did better long term? Was is the Marsilea H, or did they do more or less the same? How about the height they grew up to? I am considering one of these plants for a 15L 470lumen(led) +CO2 setup, so any input would be welcome. I'd prefer the plant that is more likely to stay shorter. Thanks in advance!
Hi Harilaos. To be honest it depends on which one you prefer, they're relatively similar. You can check them up here tropica.com/en/plants/plantdetails/Marsileahirsuta(010TC)/4428 and scroll through the different layouts they were employed in for inspiration.
@@TropicaAquariumPlants ok, thank you!
👍👍👍👍👍
George, I would love to see a low light aquarium with lots of Bolbits! (With CO2). Thanks!
Yes bolbitis and Co2 is definitely a good match
👍🌿👍🌿👍
turn on your red light when you turn your lights on you will see much better growth
Easy aquascaping
i though hole point of having planted tanks is plants help filter water. thier for you dont do water changes and jusr keep up with filter meadia
Oh, definitely not. Plants help and create a more natural environment for the live stock but they come with their own requirements, the same way a normal garden does.
and i can't grow these exact plants with the same setup (fluval flex) no matter what I do!
I feel you. What eventually did the trick for me was to upgrade the light. I added a Tunze led, which is easy to fix into the hood.
Make a old school Dutch scape.
That sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the input Bernd!
you've got worms in your soil
Hi Mike. You're right. We have different experimental tanks running at the same time and whenever you maintain all of them at the same time there's a risk to carry unwanted eggs from one place to another. Well spotted nevertheless!
Too much maintenance. A deep substrate is enoungh for this
