Thank you so much for your videos. This will be my first year crossbow hunting. As a matter of fact first time doing any archery hunting. Watching your videos over the last year is what motivated me to do so.
Great video. When my dad and I hunted in michigan . We always made natural ground blinds from fallen trees, logs and misc plants that where in the area. Since I moved to florida. I mainly use treestand and tree climber. I do own a ground blind but havent used much. Mainly do to me hunting in cedar swamps and other wet locations. Best of luck to everyone this hunting season
That's interesting, I would have thought ground blinds were more popular in Florida but I am not familiar with the trees they have there, are they Pines that you put the stands in?
I love your videos, informative with a touch of humor. I'm new to crossbow hunting so you are like an encyclopedia with the voice of a radio announcer.
Love watching your videos. I'm having a hard time of it right now. Even though I'm going through neuropathy in my whole body. Even though I can't do everything I used it helps me to watch you two in your adventures out hunting together. Have a good day Sincerely Rick
I was impressed with the quality of your videos when I started watching three years ago and you just keep raising the bar making them better as time goes on. You make it look easy. I think you have a great plan. I hope it ends with a huge buck on the ground.
I really like the way you analyze situations. Excellent use of good commonsense. Crossbow hunting season start beginning October in Ontario Canada and it will be my first hunting season in Canada with a crossbow.
I don't know how you don't have more subscribers. Your videos are great for the content, but they are also very well made. You have a great speaking voice that really draws your attention in. You definitely deserve a lot more recognition for your videos.
I'll be scouting sunday lookin for spots for opening day here in Louisiana. It'll be my first crossbow hunting experience. Thank you for the videos, very informative for someone nee to the crossbow as myself
I just started hunting last year. This year I am taking my 17 year old son for the first time. We get the opportunity to go out next weekend a week early for youth season here in Indiana. He is, we are, really excited for this opportunity. We have been watching your videos this year to prepare, they are very educational. Somehow, I feel like you are a school teacher when you are off camera.
Common sense and practicality, great video. Your videos can help the average hunter become better and have a feeling of success. Not everyone has the time, money or ability to harvest that record book buck. Early season, young bucks and does by my experience are better eating. Thanks again for a great video.
A year late on the video, new subscriber and hunting on the ground tomorrow w/O scouting due to a crazy work schedule. Lol. Great. I know where I'm going though. Better then work! Great video buddy.
Very excited for you! I love natural ground blinds. My 1st ever buck was taken outta a natural ground blind. Love the bunjie tip pop ups. Very clever. Deer noticed my camera too. So I moved them a lil further away and higher up the tree, angled down. And I used scent away wipes on the camera. Weather shaping up for me to hunt Sunday! Good luck bud!
How cool is that, shooting from the ground? I really do like it. I will take some wipes with me this time, as well, great idea. It's funny they were really skittish about this camera but couldn't care less in front of the apple tree!
I like trying to find big blow downs to make ground blinds in close to trails. You don’t disturb much if you can make a blind out of a tree that’s already fallen.
Great ideas Rich , If you have an idea pursue it . It’s either a positive effort or back to the drawing board . Either way you’re doing what you love ❤️ to do and we appreciate You sharing. Good luck 🍀 this season in PA , and remember that 8 pointer that will pass you by may be living on the other side of the hill looking for a girl friend. A sad day for me I lost my Golden Retriever .
Dunkin Donuts iced coffee....lol... I remember when my Mom, GRHS, seemed like the only person in Maine to drink that in the dead of winter. I’m in Atlanta 40something years later and still drink my daily large iced coffee.
I have an e bike and I can crossbow out of the blue off it's back and the buck don't know what hit em. Don't know if I can do that anymore. Sounds crazy but when you are cycling animals don't expect you to stop for other then taking pictures briefly.
I love his stuff, I have done that in the past and I am going to do that this weekend most likely. I put it where it is so that I could check it without having to stand between the tree and the licking branches. I can simply reach around the tree at this height. I'm going to replace it with a quieter, newer camera as well.
@@Deathbybunjie Buddy of mine just bought 5 new cellular cams to replace all of his standard cams so he doesn't have to enter his property to check the cards. Not a link system so he will be paying $10/mo/cam for the cell coverage. He paid $150/cam. He's not right in the head. (A little Braveheart reference there) I have been using Bushnell cams since I started using cams 8 or 9 years ago. Never had a single issue with them other than one being eaten by a bear. Battery life is excellent and the picture quality is great. Like a kid at Christmas when I check an SD card!! Amazing to see what is actually walking around when you're not there. Anyway, new crossbow target should be here any day. Put the string dampeners on the Whitetail II. Had to make some adjustments to the scope afterwards. NO big deal but the crossbow was shooting about 3 inches to the right after I put them on. Big difference in sound though. I don't do FB otherwise I'd send you some trail cam pics. Be happy to treat you to a DD iced coffee next time I roll through your area though!! ALL HAIL BUNJIE!!!
Hey Rich, Did you ever try onXmaps? To see all the trails, scat, bedding areas, rub, scrape and so on right at your finger tips? It has helped me a bunch with filling all my tags! I look at it like a puzzle and when you start filling it in you can see the big picture! Good luck!
Hi, can you do a video on how you build the hunting small bench...I really like that a lot for hunting inside a blind...and compact, perfect size, could not find on you tube, that rig bee bench is perfect...I enjoy all your VIDEOS, very educational, I tell all my hunting buddies, about your video, thank you..
Thank you so much, that was very nice you got back so quick, I've learn so much from you.. my confidence level it's up there now. and yes thank you for that's video with the spec of the blind bench...and congratulations, on the trophy wild boar, your beautiful, daughter harvest, with the crossbow.. once again thank you.
Not sure if you're allowed in PA, but you should use that stump to make a natural salt lick... Saw a video here on UA-cam about that.. seemed like an awesome idea. Some places once the salt is dissolved into the stump it isn't considered as baiting..
@@gregstabryla9945 Understood, but using this method you can do it between seasons and eventually the stump itself becomes the salt lick and can be considered natural, not baiting. It is actually really clever
I am on a better-safe-than-sorry side of this, and I think when the Game Commission says we have to remove all residue, and residue is the word in the statute, they mean that the stump itself would have to be removed if you can't otherwise remove the residue. For that reason, I don't use things like stump licker anymore or anything like that. I just say better safe than sorry. I am totally okay with mineral sites that can be removed more than 30 days before the season, however. If it were legal, I would keep them out all year long. But that's me!
Not sure about videos on processing, at least not immediately, but the Maryland videos should start next week. I will do cooking videos down the road, too!
Leaves chest height for me, experiment with cameras. I used to use scents but not any more...if it's in the right spot, the deer do that for me in a matter of days!
The scrape beneath the licking Branch will become evident this month as activity increases, look for those. If you a nice trail, look for branches 42 to 48 inches high, they'll likely be using them. You'll see broken branches where bucks worked them too hard. You'll see rubs on the surrounding trees too. These things usually show up all in the same place from what I've seen.
For years I use 1 1/2 sheets of plastic lattice www.lowes.com/pd/Deckorators-Common-x-48-in-x-8-ft-Actual-0-125-in-x-47-5-in-x-7-91-ft-Cedar-Redwood-Plastic-Traditional-Lattice/50280273 along with some metal fence posts and a tree to make my blind. Using a camp chair I sat out there for hours. Got busted a few times, but also got at least one deer per season from there.
For spring gobbler you can't brush it in but for deer you certainly can and most people do! It makes no difference Under Pennsylvania law on whether it is on your property or someone else's.
Deer lick a branch or rub their heads against them to leave scent and communicate with other deer. It's present when there are scrapes on the ground usually.
Instead of using screws for making your blind why don`t you use paracord to tie the limbs with . I hunt WMA in Florida and legally you can`t cut or damage the tree .

I've experimented over the years but now...nothing at all. Deer do it for me!
did you ever hunt this spot?
A few times, it produces now and then for me!
Did some else ever got to your blind before you
No but I think that would freak me out LOL
if you put a salt block on a tree stump the weather will disolve it into the stump and deer will be licking the stump for a few years
