Then I found out that I could no longer get mail through Outlook so I turned it back off again so I could get my mail through Outlook again, but your video solved the problem. Thank you!!

This technique no longer works in gmail security. I've been through this process in the past. Presently Google is doing everything possible to avoid providing an app password. Am trying to setup Outlook on my new laptop. What a headache.

my issue is this error , do you have any solution Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

This is awesome , thanks for the great tutorial, i did all these steps following a different video and it didnt work coz initially while entering my details of the emial account set up i was giving the app password that was created and after when the pop up comes i was giving the same app password, but still it didnt work.. but this time while setting up i gave my Gmail password while setting up the account and when the pop up comes i gave the app password which worked flawlessly, thank you so much.. this info is missing on the google website i guess they should include it.
My Security Page has all the same settings as your, EXCEPT that there is NO "App Passwords" option. So I cannot find the password. Has this changed since you posted this video? My screen looks exactly the same as your EXCEPT that the "App passwords" option is missing.
Michael Cometa is it your office Gmail Account? If yes then this can be the case. But though try to re-configure one more time and yes once you set the App Password, it wont accept the first time. Try entering the password multiple time. It should work.
Company domain connected to gmail but I prefer using outlook as I'm used to it although gmail acces is working fine, this worked before no issues but a week ago it asked me to add password.. I've tried the app password as its a 2 step verification enabled but it never worked tried so many attempts on this.. and yes I did input the app password so many times and never worked.. Outlook is working fine with other domains thou since I have multiple email accounts connected to outlook.
Michael Cometa I would recommend to re-configure the outlook with all the precise information. and if does not work then you can also try to create a new APP PASSWORD through your gmail account and then try in outlook. Let me know if that helps. Thanks :)

It worked!!! Great video and easy to follow. I do have a follow-up question. My gmail now appears in Outlook, however, under the name of my gmail account, I have the following: Inbox, [Gmail], Outbox and then under those I have a white triangle and next to that it says Sync Issues (This computer only). When I click on the white triangle and expand it, below the Sync Issues it says Local Failures (This computer only). Is there a way to get rid of this or fix this problem?
