As we already know that Google less secure apps will be phased out soon, cause this permission allows you to connect your Gmail account to a different email client. However, due to security reasons, Google has decided to disable the LSAs option.
But there is no need to worry we have got a less secure Google alternative just for you to resolve the issue of Outlook stopped working with Gmail. So, when the Google’s less secure apps become obsolete, you can rely on the alternative Google App password solution to allow access to third-party applications. It is however a 16 digit password that can be used to allow less secure access to apps.
Furthermore for that, you need to enable two-step verification before utilizing the Google App password. You can produce app passwords to configure your Gmail account in various applications. Here follow these below mentioned instructions:-
1. First, navigate to your Gmail Account and hit on the Security option.
2. Afterwards, you can click on the App Password option.
3. Next, enter your credentials and press on the Next option.
4. Select App and Device according to your desire.
5. Them, click on the Generate Password button to create Google App password.
6. Finally, it will generate a 16 digit password.
It is highly recommended that you must take a backup of your data locally just to be safe in the future, But for now, we have provided an alternative solution for you to overcome the following issue that you are facing.

Very helpful. I easily solved my problem by following this video. Just to add a step - when you do all these steps, you then need to update the passwords in your Outlook. When one of your accounts tries to pull down incoming POP mail, it will fail again as shown in the start of this video at 0:10. Just paste in the new password and click the "save this password" box. That will update your stored password in Outlook, and you're all set. The best part is that this change will go out into all your Outlook gmail accounts. I have 8 gmail accounts, and I thought I'd have to go through all this 7 more times. But after dong the "master" account, all the other accounts suddenly started connecting OK and pulling in the emails.
Thanks for your comment, Brian. Because of what you wrote, I followed the steps in the video. I didn't understand why this would work, since the e-mail Google sent stated that they were no longer allowing less secure apps to use just a username and password. But, it did work. However, I'm still using a less secure app and a single password...only, now the password is different. I guess it's just the two-factor authentication. Whatever the case, I'm now able to return to using Outlook 2010 again. The only thing that didn't work for me is having my other Gmail accounts resume downloading e-mails. For me, only the "master" account is working. That's the most important one for me, so it's not the end of the world. However, I don't understand how all your other Gmail accounts started working.
@@karlhungus5554 The really weird thing is that what I said above about only having to do the master account and somehow it magically got propagated to all my other gmail accounts was true at the time. I did the master account, then all the others started working, too. That was a week ago. However, a couple days ago, suddenly all my sub-accounts quit working - each one got the username/pw error when trying to download mail, while the main account was getting emails OK. So then I had to go back through all of them and do the whole procedure, with a new google-generated password for each one. So it looks like Google changed some switch so that the "magic propagation" no longer worked.
@@TheClampetts I thank you for taking time to respond and providing an update. Now, I'm less inclined to think I'm crazy. I wish those putzes would just leave things alone! Good grief! When Google initially made the switch, my e-mail stopped downloading into Outlook for about two days. Then, it started working again. Then, after another day or two, it stopped again. I'm so glad I found this video and your comment, as I was figuring I'd have to update to Outlook. Wishing you well.
Thank you SOOOOOO much!! Was trying to fix a relatives outlook2007 account and was just about to try and either convert them to Thunderbird or get them to pay for Office365.
Excellent tutorial! Worked first time. Thank you again!!!!!
Precise, economic, useful step by step instructions. Thanks a bunch, my friend.
Great fix. However, you forgot to explain the very last step - remove your old Outlook password and replaced it with Google generated password.
