- Hi everyone and thanks for watching.
We had a lot of fun filming this one although my microphone starting playing up again! So I'm sorry for the interference.
Sweet peas are in! I've placed them in the large tray and placed them on my dining room window sill.
Watch us next time to see how we arrange the area where we have placed the raised beds.

🐝 Thanks for the great video 🌻 CELEBSSSS!! whahaha
Haha I'll need to get a red carpet on the plot now 😂😂
@@ericandrachallotmenteers HISSES NO carpets !!
@@BumblebeeAdventure haha just a temp one Sandra. Hate carpets 🤣
👍
Thanks Locke ☀️
Looks like you guys had a busy and productive day! Looking forward to seeing your seeds grow and bloom 😀
Thanks Katie.
Hope you are well. I'm setting some more away this week.
Nearly spring 🌱😃☀️
Taking the pins out of those beds to join them makes much better use of the space. Excellent plan.
I had so many hopes that the -8° would have killed some bugs.. sadly not.
They are a perfect fit! Levelling the ground is the next challenge 👍🏽
And I know, right! I couldn't believe my eyes. Pesky flies 😫
😂😂 changing your kind again get out. Oh lord I have to get some seeds done (flower) and mid to end of Feb I’ll think 🧐 about doing tomatoes etc. Great update Rach and glad Eric has all his fingers 🫣. Have a super week and happy gardening, Ali 🌦️🇨🇦
Haha he's serious Ali, has to be supervised, medical kit at the ready 🚑🆘
And I've just sorted my seeds today. Wrote a list of them all and stored them in sow in month boxes.
I didn't realise you sent two lots of flower seeds that I'll sow this week. Thank you kindly.
I'm also doing the Michael pollan toms and kidney beans. 🌱😊
Hope you're keeping warm and not working too hard 👩🏼🌾😘
Excellent 👌
Thanks Dipak and for the comment! 😊🌱
I love that your shop sells things! Ours is more compost based. I think it’s amazing that you used to never needed sulphur in the soil due to car pollution but now with the catalyst converters you need to as they have reduced the pollution. I’m not sure about bug tho. What bugs are you having issues with?
You can multi sow them saves time! there is no right way… I like multi sowing sometimes we chit them some times we prick them out… who knows! lol
Love flowers help so much with with pollinators!
‘I’ll probably kill them before they grow’ that’s the spirit lol
Ahh the shop is fab. It's only up the road and now I've got my celeb status up there, they'll have to reserve me a cuppa seat in the hut 😂
Aww honestly hun, we had black fly, green fly, multi coloured fly, any other type of fly you can get 🤣 I have grazers G3 spray snd with those smoke bombs we will set to work on that this weekend.
Haha yeah I try to stay positive, optimistic and as always... truthful 😂 I'm looking forward to the sweet peas, just bought a fab little deep root tray cheap as chips it was. So we'll see how that goes 😃
Hope your feeling ok 😊 x
@@ericandrachallotmenteers sounds like you need a pond! They you’ll get things that will eat them. We have rats and rabbits. So any ideas about them are always welcome! lol but Yh I’m much better now! Goodness I was dieing
@@ThatBritishHomestead we aren't allowed them on site, I've got my little half barrel pitiful water feature lol but I see what you mean. We have deer but there's a busy road between its territory so don't see them much and they'd not get on either plot.
We have a toad but they don't do much 🤣 I have alliums at home and no problems so will keep most up here 🤞🏽
Glad you feeling better 😊
@@ericandrachallotmenteers it’s amazing to me that different locations are so far apart in terms of pests etc!
Hello Eric and Rach, busy time of the year. The hardstanding is a blessing. Cold frame lid?
Your tall hoop is fab! Well done being thrifty. Be careful sulphur is highly flammable. And ignites itself, burns like a sparkler. I have it too in my shed.
Take care, Jane
Hi Jane, thanks for watching.
And yes, a cold frame lid. That's in the plans 🤣
Love our tall hoop! Love all the hooped beds really 😍
And yes I was told that 🔥 I'm just going to sprinkle a little on top of the soil when crops go in.
Hope you've had a good weekend so far
🌱👩🏼🌾 Rach
Great update Rach, you've made me wonder if I should try sweet peas again now!! How have you attached your netting to the inside of your greenhouse? My greenhouse doesn't have many places to hang things from but I was thinking of putting up shade netting this year. It's always funny when you are recognised by someone who watches UA-cam isn't it, you're a celeb now😄. Take care 😊
Ahh haha get done in Bethan! I've never done them before, like as I said on Danny's live last week, if I can't eat it I don't want to grow it 🤣🤣 but I get that they are good for our pollinators which I love so it makes sense.
So the netting was shade cover and already on when we got the plot.
I'll drop you a message about it. It gets up to 45c in there 🥵
And oh my days! Eric said I need a pen on me to sign autographs 🤣🤣
Hi Rach, marigolds are great I direct sow, my cosmos and marigolds and they come up everytime, but not yet when things get warmer 😁 haha… your a celeb now! I met some new allotment holders last year and they had subscribed to my channel, but had no idea I was on the same site! It’s not a very big site either, but I thinks it’s because my plots tucked away in a corner 😁
Oh I'll get some seeds then, do they come back each year?
And it's such a good feeling isn't it. It made my day 😂👍🏽
@@ericandrachallotmenteers no they are annuals but if u collect the seeds they can be planted again. Although some self seed and do come back, so they stay dormant now and you may pop up.
@@AmirsAllotment thanks for that Amir. I need to get some more marigolds for next to to my tomatoes so will pop some more on the shopping list ☀️😁
I bought Tricia one of those mini chainsaw last year for her birthday. She’s yet to use it.
🤗
Haha Eric loves his gadgets! Can't wait to use them 🤣
i was pricking out shizanthus today , lesson learnt n note to self i need to not
put too many seeds in one pot , because there was litrally 300 i got fed up n threw half of them in the garden on the grass pmsl
Haha shell! That's so true.
Me with those blooming carrots last year 🤣 I did the same the year before with about 160 leeks I sowed all in the same pot. I pricked out 60 and gave the rest away. So daunting 🫣🤣
I was just as surprised seeing someone I recognised using the shop, although it is the best allotment shop about( slightly biased as it is my site 😂) I really like the look of the pallet collar beds, where abouts did you get them?
Honestly Jamie, you made my day! 😂
We visited last week too and I told Anne, we'd be up again next week for a cuppa 🤣☕️
And we got all the raised beds free as they were on the plots when we took over them. I think Eric has bought 4 out of the 15 I think we have 🫣 and watching this back, Eric suggested we paint them to tidy it up a bit 🖌️
Keep checking marketplace as there are usual some on there for cheap 👍🏽😃
Pull the square bed to the front and make a bamboo V for beans behind ? Yep looks like Allium leaf minor on those leeks 😔
We thought of that Susie but need access for wheel barrow, the sweet peas are going up along that back wall in pots, and I already have a pea area 🌱 but I do have plans with a willow bundle I have 😃 looking forward to that project. Thank you for the idea though, always something to put in the planning book
And yeah I think so too 😫 we are going to pop in through the week and see what we can do
Have a fab Sunday 👩🏼🌾
Check dainty diaries out she has a video on starting sweet peas in milk cartons I did it last year it worked a treat xx
Ahh really? That sounds interesting.
Thanks for the comment Julie, I'll check it out 😊🌱
@@ericandrachallotmenteers it was my first time growing sweet peas they have a long root so they need quite a deep pot to start them off in so milk cartons r perfect and free xx
