Thanks for the video. As someone who walks with a cane, I can tell you that the most common use of the pointed end at the hook of the cane is for easy hooking of the cane over my belt while I'm using a urinal. I've used canes with perfectly rounded ends, and getting them to hook on my belt or even sometimes in my pocket is more difficult. I'm still not a great fan of sword canes. If I were skilled at dual-wielding, I'd probably love them. Someone who was skilled at dual-wielding could use the sword for stabbing and slashing while using the shaft for blocking or making impact strikes. I'm not extremely skilled at all kinds of hook manipulations, but I practice a two-handed strike where I catch someone with the hook and pull downwards. I like a traditional cane because the power of both hands is contributing to that downward push. If someone wants to get one of these as anything more than a novelty item, this one would be great. I'd just want to be very good at both swordsmanship and dual-wielding before I carried one in public. I bought a stun gun in 1992. I never carried it much and have no idea where it is. I should probably get another one someday. They have their place in self-defense. This one looks nice. I really like the battery power indicator. You didn't mention whether this was USB rechargeable, but I'm guessing that it is. Everything is USB rechargeable these days. That's nice because one could recharge the stun gun with a solar panel. As I've said many times, I'm a bit paranoid about knuckle knives. I'm not really attracted to the look of this one, but this one seems very practical. The spring-loaded bo staff is cute. I'd still be worried about breaking one. I'd still be worried about a thrust causing the leg to collapse. I still think this staff would be great for travel use. This should be stronger than a two or three piece staff with threaded connections. If one needed a staff that could be collapsed for travel purposes, this would be nice. I suspect that TSA would still want to investigate someone putting one in checked luggage, but maybe TSA would be okay with this design. For car travel, this would be great. Someone who wanted to practice while on a trip would find this design very nice.
That expandable baton staff I am finding pretty interesting. Would honestly love to see a true destruction test and how long it takes to actually break it against a soft target.
I am so jealous, living in the UK we are only allowed to play with pillows and soft play knives but also not allowed to defend ourselves against attackers.
Come to the States. There is still plenty of room for good people. Just be aware, that some of the Blue States are similar to what our cousins in the Commonwealth Countries have to deal with. Ask me how I know. Hahaha. I'm still in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey, trying to move to a safer haven in Appalachia. Cheers.
I feel you. Same in Germany. We can have stun guns, but they have to be so weak that you should rather throw them at an attacker. Our police does everything to not protect us but make sure we can't protect ourselves.
The spring loaded baton. Very cool item indeed. The anti grab stun gun was very interesting. I can tell Amanda was working on some aggression there. Thanks for the review. Have a blessed week.
We’ve been working on getting the spring-loaded bo staff right for years! I’m so excited to finally get to show it off. Thanks so much for all your support!
I don’t know if you’ve seen the live-action One Piece yet… the character, Nami has a spring-loaded bo staff and this just makes it even more exciting! You guys are so awesome for making one too!
Great job Amanda picking out weapons again last Friday. And good job on the video again also either Mel or Ian and Kyle thanks for getting stunned again to show how powerful they are I liked all of them this week also but I have to go with the trench knife followed by the expandable boa staff
I’m not gonna lie…I had to look up what a Mimbari fighting staff is…don’t hate me!😂. That thing looks pretty cool!! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Hi Kyle love all the weapons the tactical hook cane is very nice and the trench knife but my favourite has got to be the spring loaded bo staff well done mate a very informative video mate glad you show us all how good they are
Thanks Craig! I really appreciate that! My team and I put a lot of time into making that bo staff, so I’m really proud of how it turned out. Thanks so much for all your positivity and support! It means a lot to me, brother!
Thank you for sharing great video and i really like that spring loaded bo staff and it reminds me of the movie predator they have a combistick wich is collapsible as well but the difference is they can push a button and collapse it that way as well. A combi stick you can use that as a staff and a spear because it has two sharp tips at both ends.
Thanks brother! You’re right, it does remind me of that weapon. I love that movie! Thanks so much for all your support! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
That staff is awesome. I have been searching for a retractable bow staff for the last six years and haven’t found anything even close to this. The closest I’ve come to it are those ridiculous expandible Gundam sticks meant for stage magic definitely putting this on my wish list.
I think it would be cool to have a fixed tactical cane on one end of the expanding staff, and only the bottom half extends. Or, a hiking staff, that twists and locks into place when it expands, and only retracts when you twist it back manually.
**for the sword cane I'd rather see the tip of the cane come off (near the crutch tip)and that be the handle of the blade, and then the rest of the shaft and the hook be a second weapon, (and you can still use your hook techniques) I'd also like to see the shaft of the cane be more oval (and preferably textured) so the blade can be wider, and not so fragile looking. **The trench knife looks awesome, but no pinky protection? (That was a stupid oversight) I'd also like to see a longer wider blade.
@@kirkchartier7141 I have to say your idea of the sword being reversed (so the tip is the handle) is inspired. Not only gives you a solid Cane and handle as a separate weapon, but also is harder to detect as a sword cane. Might have to make one of these.
@@jeffreybarton1297 if you do that you have to make sure the cane is really solid, otherwise you got a blade pointing up at you rather than at the ground.
@@kirkchartier7141 Yes indeed. Luckily I overbuild everything to a ridiculous extent 😄 I thought of another Stick project too. Given the fact that a short Spear is one of the most effective weapons, giving both distance from your attacker, and a formidable blade for piercing, how about a walking stick with a dagger style spike or blade embedded in the end, covered by a matching wooden sheath with a rubber ferrule on the end. If done right, it would be undetectable to the eye. In a fight, you could use the usual stick moves, but if it got serious you could pull off the sheath, exposing the blade/spike. Another advantage would be that if, in the fight, the attacker tried to grab the end of your stick, you could just pull back, leaving him with a bit of wood in his hand, and a blade/spike pointing at his chest. He'd probably give up at that point (literally 😄), or get poked.
I'd go with the Tactical Hook Sword Cane. I like the Blade length, the material, and the Hook design. The case is nice too, could use that a bludgeon, if you really had to. The Black Ops Trench Knife is nice too, I like the fact that it's Carbon Steel, the Tanto Point and the Steel knuckle guard. Carbon Steel is a big plus for Trench Knives.

I like the sword cane idea, but fighting with swords is long range fighting, I'd be happier with a 10 or 12 inch blade, as they're more maneuverable, a good combat dagger The stun gun would be a bit better if the flash light also strobed, blinding your attacker works to slow them down, giving one a better chance to stun them in a tender spot I like the bow staff, would have come in handy while guarding ammo dumps, since we couldn't carry guns back then, they literally gave us stiff rubber hose
I'd also like a combat cane that looks almost exactly like the cheap ones from CVS, but is actually made with a titanium or carbon fiber core or something.
We actually have one similar to that on KarateMart.com that I’ve tested on the KarateMart UA-cam channel. We plan on adding it to the Kombativ.com website as well, so I’ll probably be testing it on video soon. Thanks so much!
I can't import sword canes or stun guns into Australia, but if I could find a spring loaded bo staff that is also a decent cane...? Doesn't need to pop out both ends, just maybe twist the cane handle & have a solid extension from the base would be excellent. So if you have input to the people who design such things...?
It’s interesting that you mention that, Mark. We’ve been working on a couple of different designs that are kind of similar to that. But, we are pretty backed up right now in our prototyping and manufacturing, so it’ll probably be a while before they are ready. Thanks so much for watching from Australia!
We do have a spring loaded stun baton on our other website www.karatemart.com. And, that is definitely something we’ve been considering developing ourselves as well. Thanks so much for watching!
I wonder if theres a shorter version of the expandable bo staff. It would be more portable, less conspicuous and more rigid as it would have the same diameter. I feel like this one is too long both in its unextended form as well as extended. Even shorter, it would still be effective as self defence, especially against knives. With a shorter length, it would also be less difficult and cumbersome to wield for non-expert bo staff (less trained people). If there isn’t at the moment, I hope there may be future plans for a shorter one. Half the length, at 15 inches unextended and half the length of either sides once extended, would be perfect imo
We definitely have shorter versions of the collapsible bo staff available on www.Kombativ.com, but we just finished and released the spring-loaded version, so it’ll be a while before we release different sizes and colors. We are definitely planning on that in the future though. Thanks so much for watching!
Heyyy i had bought the expendable or the collapsable bostaff it is truly beautiful but one questions for the spring loaded bo staff which i will be buying 100% is does it come in other colors?
That’s a great question, Christian! We may have other colors one day, but it will be a while before we start making variations. Thanks so much for your support! It means a lot to me!
The spring is extremely strong, so that it has enough power to create a tight friction seal when the telescoping ends expand. We didn’t design it to strike that way, but it would certainly hurt to get struck like that. Thanks so much for watching!
Spring loaded bo staff The closest thing so far to a real Highguard lance. You should clean the pumpkin residue off before closing it. I was hoping to see the trench knife knuckle duster against the pumpkin.
Thanks Dave! Yeah, the trench knife would have been cool against the pumpkin, but I wanted the pumpkin to still be in good shape before I tested the staff on it. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Great question, Scott! We always back our weapons if there is any sort of defect. Feel free to call or email us if you have anymore questions. Thanks so much for watching!
I am a blind man and I need something for self-defense that bo staff sounds good but is it capable of guiding me where I need to get in other words can it replace my folding cane
That’s an excellent question, Jesse. I probably wouldn’t suggest it for that because it’s a bit too heavy and may be awkward to carry. But, that’s a very interesting idea. Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Thank you for these 😂 as a life-long martial arts student and instructor, a close quarters combat instructor for the Corps, and currently contracted with the D.O.J it's becoming a real issue that people see a "less than lethal" weapon has MILLIONS of volts is leading to many accidents and deaths. Something to keep in mind is that anything more than 50 volts can be lethal and 130 and up is lethal for adults of up to 300lbs 70% of the time. The reason tasers are considered "less than lethal" is due to the current being used which is often quiet low in these devices. That said unless you've checked both the voltage and current with a machine several times with different battery charge levels you should NEVER test these on yourself or others !!! These are often made in China and quality control is FAR from consistent and the engineering is NOT great. I've seen SEVERAL deaths in the last year (17 actually) just kids playing around, college kids for initiation..even a couple of 11 year olds playing truth or dare. In the Corps and as a Police officer we are required to test these on each other before carrying one and after a couple of deaths we now test each one several times and have a doctor's sign off for the officer's and Devil Dogs. One thing we learned rather tragically ( killed the suspect and an officer as well as leaving another disabled for life. Blind--she lost her eyes, amputated hands, no nose ) Tasers can cause the person to ignite into a fireball. This 27 year old was detained due to a bar fight. One of the bouncers sprayed him with mace and a couple hours later while being taken to the hospital and checked out for a head injury that was from the fight..a couple of different detainees started fighting eachother and one of the 5 tases discharged at the two gang members missed and hit the drunk kid. He WHOOSH went up in a massive fire ball. I've seen other reports of the same thing with several different ignition chemicals...perfume, hair gel/spray, an asthma inhaler coco butter lotion, self tanning lotions etc . I'm not trying to throw shade or dress down this channel or anyone in this video. I think both are great. Just sharing because as someone far wiser than myself used to tell us- "we don't know what you don't know" . I hope that you and those you care for are happy, healthy, and safe. Semper Fidelis P.S. I apologize for any words that are out of context or poor punctuation and misspellings. I lost my hand in Afghanistan so now I dictate rather than type and the program is not perfect.
I don't know why you keep saying nobody cares about the sheath, but that is an important factor. Not everyone wants to build or buy an extra sheath that might or might not fit the blade.
You’re right! The sheath is definitely important, but when you look at the video analytics that show where viewers stopped watching, we often see viewers leave the video when I talk too long about the sheath. So, I try to keep that aspect short because people are more excited about seeing the weapon itself. Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks Earl! The fact that “Bo” means “Staff” is common knowledge to anyone in the martial arts industry. However, when people search UA-cam and Google for that weapon, they commonly search for the phrase “Bo Staff”. So, if we want the most people to see our video, we need to use the phrase that most people search for. I hope you are having a wonderful week!
So KarateMart channel just said the same thing about this bow staff, that they have the pending patent, been working on it for years, they did the springs inside with all mechanism bla bla, and you guys say the same thing. It’s so strange, who’s right. 😅
That’s a great question, Gabe! Kombativ is the company that manufactures many of the weapons that KarateMart sells. So, we hold the patent. Kombativ is also the exclusive retailer of the spring-loaded bo staff, so you can only purchase it on Kombativ.com. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!

That bo staff is really nice. Great job on it, sir 🫡👍 I thought of an idea that already exists, but have you ever thought, or do you have knuckle stunners? ( knuckle duster and a stun gun combo) 🤔 Thanks again, Kyle

That’s true! Especially if the person is on methamphetamines. That’s why it’s important to practice self-defense techniques in addition to carrying a stun gun. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
absolute nonsense, if the user doesnt know how to fight yes they wont work, tools arent magic you need to train and learn how to fight yes it is a harder to use weapon than a gun or a spray doesnt mean it doesnt work... nonsense.
@@SirPraiseSun so I take it you have first hand experience with chemical irritants and stun guns or tazers? I do and I've seen criminals shake off both like a man shakes off a mosquito, every person has tolerances to different things, I've taken hits from tazers in training and never went down (hurts like hell but didn't incapacitat) now pepper spray to me is a different story, I couldn't see straight for about 6 hours but ive seen officers laugh at pepper sprayf, so yes they don't work on everyone

I NEED THAT BOW STAFF!!! It's just like Robin's from the cartoons!
It is pretty awesome! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
All of them are good but Tactical Hook Sword Cane
Thanks Alan! I hope you have an awesome weekend, my friend!
Damn its so beautiful, i hope they dont sell out anytime soon i’d love to own one.
Thank you, my friend! It’s taken many years to get it right, but I’m very proud of it. I hope you have an awesome weekend!
sheesh that bostaff looks strong but dam it is heavy and bulky the trench knife with the knuckle dusters and glass basher is sick
Thanks so much for watching!
I like the Spring-Loaded Bo Staff and the Anti-Grab Stun Gun !!!
Awesome, Ricky! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
You should make a spring loaded double Stun Baton Stun Gun.
🙄
The trench knife was cool as was the spring staff thingy. Live long and prosper??????????
lol…thank you, my friend! I hope you have an awesome weekend!
That bo staff is like the contraption used by the silver faced ninja in revenge of the ninja.
Awesome to see y'all are doing in house production now! Watching you and Amanda will never get old.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! I hope you have an excellent weekend, my friend!
Can you do a spring loaded staff that's single ended grip style? It'll already be tapered which is the highlight of a single ended style staff.
Maybe one day, Brian! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
One thing I want to know.
How strong is the spring in the spring-loaded bo staff?
Can the spring itself do damage?
The spring is extremely strong, so that it has enough power to create a tight friction seal when the telescoping ends expand. We didn’t design it to strike that way, but it would certainly hurt to get struck like that. Thanks so much for watching!
Spring loaded bo staff
The closest thing so far to a real Highguard lance.
I have used a stun gun and can tell you that it depends on where you hit with it
You are absolutely right! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Can you strike with the Bo staff in the closed position without it accidentally deploying from the impact?
That’s an excellent question! Yes, you can! As long as you don’t hit the button. Thanks so much for watching!
How about the telescopic staff but as a cane. Nice heavy head with telescoping base.
Maybe one day! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Does it come in all black
Not yet, Shawn, but maybe one day. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
On that bo staff, what kind of warranty does that come with??
Great question, Scott! We always back our weapons if there is any sort of defect. Feel free to call or email us if you have anymore questions. Thanks so much for watching!
Black Ops Trench Knife is a black beauty.
I agree, my friend! I hope you have an awesome weekend!
Wo kann ich diese 3 Absolut GENIALEN TEILE BESTELLEN?
Hi! Everything I show is available at www.Kombativ.com. Thanks so much for watching!
need the cane version of the bo staff 🤫
Maybe one day! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
14:25 Very impressive Spring loaded Bo staff. 👍
The email notification came to me today (4 days
after this was published on youtube).
Thank you, my friend! I hope you are having an awesome week!
Remind me of predator spear.. 😳👉🏻👈🏻
I can see that! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
In California we can get arrested just by Looking at you video…
Hahaha! Luckily, some of the weapon laws in California have gotten a little more lenient over the last few years. Thanks so much for watching!
in Sweden too
That's Commi-newsome for ya
Thank you for these 😂 as a life-long martial arts student and instructor, a close quarters combat instructor for the Corps, and currently contracted with the D.O.J it's becoming a real issue that people see a "less than lethal" weapon has MILLIONS of volts is leading to many accidents and deaths.
Something to keep in mind is that anything more than 50 volts can be lethal and 130 and up is lethal for adults of up to 300lbs 70% of the time.
The reason tasers are considered "less than lethal"
is due to the current being used which is often quiet low in these devices. That said unless you've checked both the voltage and current with a machine several times with different battery charge levels you should NEVER test these on yourself or others !!! These are often made in China and quality control is FAR from consistent and the engineering is NOT great. I've seen SEVERAL deaths in the last year (17 actually)
just kids playing around, college kids for initiation..even a couple of 11 year olds playing truth or dare.
Blind--she lost her eyes, amputated hands, no nose )
Tasers can cause the person to ignite into a fireball.
Just sharing because as someone far wiser than myself used to tell us-
"we don't know what you don't know" .
I hope that you and those you care for are happy, healthy, and safe.
Semper Fidelis
P.S. I apologize for any words that are out of context or poor punctuation and misspellings. I lost my hand in Afghanistan so now I dictate rather than type and the program is not perfect.
Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! I hope you have an excellent week!
More Like Predator 2 Staff come to life hell yeah
Hahaha! Very true! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Need a spear tip like the Predator
Maybe one day! Thanks so much for watching!
Great video. When you are saying bo staff, you are saying staff staff.
Fact of the day: Human bodies have a similar durability to that of a pumpkin.
OMG!😂 Best comment ever! I was literally almost in tears reading that😂. Thanks Caleb! Have an awesome weekend, my friend!
A bo staff and a baton had a baby.
I guess you’ll have to see! I hope you are having an awesome week, Mac!
Strange music baby!
Thanks for watching!
They kept mentioning Kombativ so they were correct
Darth maul is very happy 😂
Yes! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Tactical Darth Maul stick!
Absolutely! Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Is it true that Amanda gave up a pay raise in return to get to pop you with the stun guns ?
lol…no, but she definitely does love using those stun guns on me! I hope you are having an excellent week, Dwayne!
Hmmmm.... OK, check local laws.
Checks UK laws.
EVERYTHING IS ILLEGAL.
It definitely seems that way! I hope you are having an awesome weekend!
see how laws are working out? laws don't always mean moral or logical, carry as you need save your life instead of beubg worried about laws about things hidden inside your clothes and be smart dont get in situations you dont need to unless you cannot avoid it.
TECH N9NE!!
Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
That bo staff is really nice. Great job on it, sir 🫡👍
I thought of an idea that already exists, but have you ever thought, or do you have knuckle stunners? ( knuckle duster and a stun gun combo) 🤔
Thanks again, Kyle
They do have knuckle stunners.
Thank you so much, Matt! I really appreciate your positivity and support! We do already sell some knuckle stun guns on Kombativ.com. They are pretty awesome! I hope you have an excellent weekend, my friend!
I'm legally blind, do you guys have a blind cane / weapon?
We do have a number of canes and walking sticks on www.Kombativ.com, but if you are searching for something specific, please feel free to call our customer service team at 1-800-696-0436. Thanks so much for your support!
And stun guns don't work on everyone
Imagine if he wasn’t married and refused to get engaged and his girlfriend is like, oh guess what we just got a COLOSSAL ORDER OF STUN GUNS, ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 then she looks at him before testing every one of them, ready to propose yet ⚡️⚡️⚡️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks so much for watching, Billy! I really appreciate it!
@ your welcome
Sword canes are illegal almost everywhere. Use it to defend yourself, go to jail.
It’s definitely important to check your local laws, Steven! Thanks so much for watching!
A bit to heavy for me
Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Why do practioners still use the misnomer? Don't you people realize you're saying "Bo Bo" and "Staff Staff"? As a kid in the '80's it was funny, it's just infuriating now.
The fact that “Bo” means “Staff” is common knowledge to anyone in the martial arts industry. However, when people search UA-cam and Google for that weapon, they commonly search for the phrase “Bo Staff”.
