Really impressed with the strides this podcast is making. Jody and Justin ask nuanced, high-quality questions that only players working on their game could bring to the table. The humor is great as usual, but there's also more preparation and professionalism underneath it. This is a really solid 60-minute media product that I would watch over tennis channel 10 out of 10 times. More views on this video than the channel has subscribers - the subs will come. Keep the content coming, guys. Looking forward to seeing the next on-the-road tournament segment. It's only a shame no one had a chance to cover Evan triumphing in Guatemala.

You have a real talent for getting players to trust you and drawing them out to speak freely in these interviews, whether it's unknown Challenger players like Nishesh and Ethan, a mini-celebrity like Karue, or a legend like Sloane. For that reason alone, these interviews are orders of magnitude more valuable than virtually any interview on mainstream tennis media. This is probably Nishesh's first extended interview, and if he (or any of your other guests) make it on the next level, this will become archival material. Hopefully, at some point you will receive your due for the work you do. I think Learner Tien would be another great interview. I went to the Challenger in Knoxville and got to see all the players up close. He seems really chill as well, and his game, like Nishesh's, is non-standard, and it would be really interesting to hear him talk about his style of play. I thought you brought out some important weaknesses in Nishesh's overall approach, and I say this as a big fan of his and not as a troll. I'm talking about his seeming reluctance to hire a professional coach, both as to technique and the mental side. I've watched a bunch of his matches, both on UA-cam and in person at his quarterfinal loss to Learner in Knoxville. He seems to have occasional lapses of focus in many of his matches, and in the match against Learner, he just completely lost touch with his game. He didn't use the tactics that have made him so successful, and he hit shots that were miles worse than anything I had seen in his other matches. All this seems to go to the mental side of his game. In addition, his serve needs to improve significantly. He is currently using a version of Zverev's old serve, where he bends his knees, then jumps vertically and hits the ball while off the ground. He is such a great athlete that he is sometimes able to hit aces or service winners by placement alone, but the speed and power are subpar, and some players have taken as much advantage of his second serve as he has of other players himself. His motion is just not efficient. I'd love for him to be able to work with someone like Gavin McMillan, who worked with Aryna to fix her serve. (He has been interviewed a few times on UA-cam. He's super analytical, and would make for a perfect fit for someone like Nishesh.) Again, thanks so much for this! I learned so much, and had a smile on my face the entire time.
I had the pleasure to meet Nishesh this summer in Chicago and couldn't be more impressed. Many of the other pros are giants who look like they're chisled out of stone. And here is Nishesh, under 6 feet tall and outperforming just about every one of them. Thanks for the inspiration!
He has that same look on his face that he did in juniors. A look that says he knows something that you don't. That something is partly why he's gonna be top 100 soon.
