In this episode of Foxing with Mark Ripley on S&C TV, Mark is out again on the tricky, vast, basin-shaped permission that makes long-range shooting a necessity! There is a pig farm on the top of the hill overlooking the basin, and right next door to it is a small bit of woodland that holds a lot of the areas foxes. The farmers have been noticing missing piglets, and have asked Mark to try and solve the problem... it's not easy, but he's not hailed as the best foxer in Britain for nothing!
Armed with the InfiRay TH50 thermal scope, which has a super-clear picture allowing him to close in on long-range foxes, he's on a mission to protect those piglets! - Спорт
The modelling was hilarious 😂😜👍
Mark, you are a natural model LOL.... that was some funny looking stuff.
As always.....another fantastic fox hunting video. I really appreciate, that there are some hunters with so much passion, spending a lot of hours in the night to protect small game an other animals.
Well done, Mark!
am watching this at 3.40 am and @2.30 im pretty sure ive just woken up the street laughing so hard. runway model for sure bloke hahaha
Christ, I thought I was watching a Right Said Fred video, you did a pretty decent job vogueing it in that Ridgeline gear!
😆thank you! 😆
Oh mate!!!! Soon as you dropped the 2nd fox @280 yds i said to myself”Yeeees!”good lad!!💪😉👍👍
Good shot, and not easy of the side of the truck,
Another fantastic effort bud,, 😍👌❤️🇬🇧brilliant shooting. 👍
Getting stable on edge of ute tray was an achievement... you just can't choose where the foxes pop up!
The tip about the tail going up I appreciate.... sometimes with runners it's hard to tell if you've missed them...or not...
The longer range shot you made without a rear bag ...but...you achieved stable...
These days I'm well focussed on getting stable...with the hope of avoiding misses on the limited opportunity that is foxing.
Thanks for reminding what cartridge you used during video too.
The long range (200 plus yards?) NV and thermal foxing is of most interest ..
Thanks for putting in the effort to share.
👍
dont give up your shooting job mark😆😆 another brilliant vid mate keep it up.
Nice shooting Mark love your videos cheers mate
Nice done mate
nice work as always
Great shooting!
Bonza 👌👍👍 lovely stuff
Love that Ridgeline gear but I'm probably biased being a kiwi. Great video series Mark. Appreciate them....
That first fox was fair hard to kill....😁👍
OMG what the chuff was that modelling sketch all about.... lol funny
😆 just me being a Twat sorry 😆
thats the first digital scope i've seen that behaves like an FFP scope. I wish more worked like this.
Mark love your video's , have you thought about using a vehicle with a cherry picker on the back, which you could drive like a land rover chassis , 4 wheel drive , where you could park up climb in the basket elevate up, enough for a better view and an improved shooting angle , safer. The operation of these mini vehicles is silent , you can get a van variation , like the council lighting fans have , good luck
Be careful Mark, we might lose you to the modelling agencies. Lol.
For those of us who are knowledgeable about shooting, it would be interesting if you said a little about what cartridges and loads you're shooting, and your equipment.
Another excellent video Mark, thank you and well done.
Geoff.
Outstanding shooting as standard. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thank you Mark brilliant shooting again look forward to next video take care mate.
Great video mark I do like the long range stuff and a couple of foxes to boot , Keep them coming mate and thanks for sharing. 👍
As always brilliant shooting Mark and excellent 👌 cat walk style
Guessing your shooting down in wiltshire for this i’ve been round most of the outdoor pig units in salisbury it almost looks familiar
Head shot just where I was aiming 😛280 yards lol
Well done tho
👌
As an American when i saw "pig protection "
I was like wait wtf
Kate Moss, eat your heart out baby. Nice as always.
Hey, Mark my other half and I both cracked up from the 2:30 mark. The wife did some modeling in her younger days, she says you need to practice the head turns and don't
quit your day job! LOL x2.
Ok thanks I’ll work on those 😆
Brilliant vlog. I know that millisecond where you see something "white" as you scan only to find it's a bloody badger! That reticle looks really good for those distance shot placement. Thermal is such a game changer especially if you have something thats run ...
The hours I've spent doing "drills" up and down a field to find a fox where I was certain it was shot ....to go the next day and find it no where near ! Thermal just let's you scan and find in no time. Keep up the good work. Re "ridgeline" clothing ....you can't beat them for fit ...material choice and price although Deer Hunter are a close second in my opinion. Be safe 🙏🦉
Indeed! Yes I’m also a fan of deerhunter as well 👍
Its a shame you dont get much model work, your head looks so shiny.. I've just bought me and the youngen some 22s so look out rabbits
Well done Kate moss ha ha
Very good as usual. Can somebody tell me what happens to the foxes once shot?
Nice video, Mark but that scope don't impress me much.....think I'll stick with C50..
Probably OK for close range and rabbits,....for those fortunate enough to have stock. Must be fantastic for rats though...Great video as usual..
This scope is thermal not nv 😉
I Like the sense of humour Mark, but good clothing is essential as there is nothing worse the being cold and wet and in the UK with our weather boy do we know about that.
Brilliant shooting Mark, a look always great to watch you, doing your craft 😎
Have you abandoned your trusted 260 Rem. For the 6.5 creedmore?
NOOOO!!! Never!! I’m just using the 223 here as it’s my night shooting set up 👍
Hi Mark, I've just bought the TH50 and love it so far. Do you know if the hash marks on the last reticles are actually MOA? Cheers!
Oo good question, no I’m not sure but I will see if I can find out!
On the second fox at 11.27, right after the shot something dashes away at the edge of the nearer field with the longer grass right in the shot line, but it doesn't show up white in the thermal what was it, did you see?
Hello Mark, I here your testing the new Merger shortly, could you let me know if you have any issues with heat signature (flickering) with rabbit/fox/etc out at 300/400/500 metres on base mag appreciate any feed back
I’ve not had any issues with that as yet 👍
Mark, please share the component make up for the 223rem round used. Thank you for the excellent content and for the sneak peek into your side, "modeling" gig. Don't give up the day job. Cheers.
I believe mark usually uses Hornady super performance 53g Vmax factory ammo
It is indeed factory 53 grain Hornady superformance 👍
@@260rips what twist rate do you have in your 223 ?
Would be interested to know what rifle your .223 is and what moderator your running on it. Looks a tidy rifle
It’s a customised tikka t3 and the mod is a Mae t12 scout 😉👍
Hi mark just got 223 . What’s the effective range compared to a 2225O? Cheers again
To be honest the effective range for both rifles is more about what you can hit as both rifles carry a fair bit of knockdown if the bullet hits the right spot.
Realistically both rifles are good out to 300 yards or more 👍
How do the fox get to the pigs with electric fencing around them.
They can quite easily slip under the fences, I think they are designed more to keep the pigs in rather than the foxes out 🤦🏻♂️
Best thermal spotter would you recommend for deer stalking great video as always
I’m a sucker for pulsar spotters, I would say Helion, accolade or merger would be the way to go depending on budget 👍
Hello Mark.
Again a top foxing video from you, i've been following you for a lot of years now and I am every time impressed with your shooting skils.
I am also a foxer and see the number of hares rise since doin so.
But I have a qustion for you, I always see you use youre phone as a torch, WHY ???
I always wear a headlamp and a small but powefull torch for searching, why don't you do so ?
Love to hear from you and keep on making foxing video's and give us class about ballistics.
😆 just one less thing to carry! I have as it happens started using an led headlamp now sometimes!
Did you miss the first Fox lad the fox u shown was very stiff looking lol every one can miss even the pro's
Indeed they can mate and yes I do! However not here! If you look closely you will notice the tail come up after the shot - a clear sign of a hit and by the way it threw itself in the hedge. It was stiff by the time I found it about an hour later after much searching and retracing my steps to pin point where it was - naturally an hour of me stooped over kicking about in long grass would not of made very entertaining footage! 👍
How much do ranchers pay for each fix? Enough for a full time living?
See your driving toyota hilux how do you find it
Excellent, don’t think I will buy any other truck after having a hilux 👍
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO YOUR AICS CHASSIS REMINGTON, YOU AREN'T SHOOTING THAT ANYMORE?
Good looks? Stand by one...lol.
Great shooting Mark as always 👍
Quick question for you, What distance is your 223 sighted in for?
I believe he mentioned 180 meters
Yep 180 metres (around 200 yards) or the classic inch high at 100 yards 👍
Would a fox actually take a pig?
Hi Mark, Living in the same area I know there is a long distance trail going right past that pig farm and to me it's the type of route that cyclists are going to use even at night using lights. Just wondering how you deal with that. Do you put up warning signs, just have to watch out for them or perhaps you don't really see anybody else about?
Perhaps dealing with public rights of way is a subject that could be a video in its own right.
Can’t say I see anyone about much at night and the thermal is certainly a great tool for safety as well as spotting quarry 😉👍
