My Favorite Long-Range Kill shots
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- Just collection of some of my memorable long-range kills covering the last couple of years. There are a few double shots where two shooters engage one target, this to ensure the target is hit and we are able to secure meat for the freezer. All shots are from full videos on my channel so check them out!!

As a Kiwi makes me happy to see someone sharing themselves shooting hinds. Not only are they better eating but they also have a greater negative impact on out bush and native animals. Great shooting and thanks for helping preserve our nature.
All about the kai cuzzy...cant eat antlers😂🤙🏽
Quite literally the best shooting I've ever seen in the hunting world. Absolutely incredible
Thanks Man🤙🤙🤙
I’d like to see a recovery on those hills. Sheesh
They are all there in the vids that those shots were taken from
I've got plenty of time to reflect at the moment and what better way than to watch some Rogee Classics. Some top shooting. Thanks boys👍

I just watched a guy in another video trying to shoot wild boar in the northern hemisphere, Turkey maybe. Trying 400 meter shots and missing his targets mostly, wounded one and had to get his dogs go find it. Acted like a real hero when he finally caught up with it, nup.
Your shots are clean and there's a quiet confidence about it. good shooting.
Thanks Kevin, appreciate the feedback 👌👍
Alot of time, effort and energy has been put in to obtain those skill's. A video to be proud of mate.

@@andrewkoltavary1183 i mean food has to come from somewhere... its just like eating some steak or something, they get slaughtered lol. no different
Some of the old mountain men claimed they made such long shots they had to put salt on the bullets so the meat wouldn't spoil before they got there. You might need to try that.😺😺😺 Great shooting man.
😂😂😂🤷♂️👌Cheers brothers thats a good one!!
We've come a long ways from musket and ball days, haven't we? Great shooting!
Yes we have come a long way👌🏽
Thank you for your one shot, one kill. That's what my Dad taught me growing up, he was a former Royal Canadian Regiment member in WWII.
You’re welcome👍🏽
They are shooting with two people
It's interesting to see the paths of the projectiles through the air, made visible (I'm guessing) by shock waves.
Samuel Stoner yeah it’s pretty cool to be able capture that footage only really made possible by the cameras and certain daylight conditions
It's a vapor trail, caused by the rapid separation and re colition of air and moisture molecules as the projectile passes through the atmosphere.
Bullet construction has allot to do with it too. My Sierra match kings (a fatter and shorter bullet) trail quite a bit at range. But my burger vld hunter ( very low drag, long and sleek) , a boat trail hollow point, do not.
It compresses the atmosphere at the front of the round & pulls it apart at the rear. It's called rareafication.
@@porkchopspapi5757 Cheers for the info!!
@@rogeeproductions2509 I think its interesting. Maybe someone else might.
Interesting choice in music for this, I didn't know I needed lofi beats while long range hunting. Unexpectedly nice surprise!

@@rogeeproductions2509 thank you Rogee. I appreciate it.
LOL, hilarious watching the dude who's on cam literally always shoot on "2" (as opposed to the agreed upon 3 count) in order to be the first one getting a shot off and thus exponentially more likely to actually get a quality shot and hit on target. I seriously don't think there was a single time he didn't fire the first shot. Would be extremely frustrating to be the hunting partner.
That said, outstanding shooting.
yeah we say three...but always go on two 🤷♂️🤦♂️😂
One projectile is faster than the other. This compensates for this, and allows for both rounds to impact the animal at approximately the same time.
Very good shooting!

Good morning, if you don't mind, I wanted to ask you a few questions about your SDA, what caliber you shoot with and what bullet weight you use. also my congratulations, it is a pleasure to watch these videos.
Hi Horcada, I shoot a 300WSM pushing a 208gr Hornady ELD-M projectile
Nice pokes fellas! That is some gnarly terrain too! What are your equipment setups? My LR set up is a Ruger No 1 chambered in 7mm STW, 150gr Barnes TSX at 3900fps. Action is like a bank vault and the rifle weighs as much too but I love it and can't bring myself to consider moving away from that set up. Best part is I can take all species here in the US with no worries.
Thanks man...heres a wee vid on my kit ua-cam.com/video/1m_s10PX2a0/v-deo.html
Thanks for the quick response and video reference. Best!
Terrific video. Thank you! I've recently been thinking about long range deer hunting and have been developing the skill needed at the range. I have one question about finding the deer afterward from that type of distance. Are there any techniques that you use to finding the correct spot after traversing that distance?
Thanks for the feeback...there are a couple of recent vids where I talk about how to find deer after you've shot them see the links below ua-cam.com/video/nDKcFky1Qhc/v-deo.htmlua-cam.com/video/elsuROZsukU/v-deo.html

Well I guess when you're hungry and you go to the freezer and there's a selection of different cuts of meat to eat and you cook it and eat it I think that makes you at least smart enough to not starve to death.

Just a trivia question from a nerd like me. That first shot, the ejected case looked to me to be a .300 Winchester Short Magnum. A .30 cal neck and a fat cartridge that looked short action. But I could be wrong, of course.
Right on the money!! ua-cam.com/video/6jLLnfNYPFU/v-deo.html
@@rogeeproductions2509 Truly amazing. I had just been watching a Vortex presentation where they talk about a lot of things, including different cartridges. One of the guys on the Podcast is always on about his Browning A Bolt .300 WSM (he also pronounces it wizzem.) He has used it to hunt black bear in the northern part of North America. So, before seeing the video you linked to me, I was just watching and that casing popped out and I thought, well, that looks familiar.
My caliber of choice is the .308 Win ( I always note that because I once accidentally bought some .308 Marlin Express and that will not fit a regular .308 W action.)
Like others, I am envious of the chance to hunt long range. And I think there is value in long range hunting. The animals are less pressured. And I think, if you can make the shot, then fine and there situations like this where the next hill top at 600 or 70 meters might be the closest you get without spooking the prey. And the terrain forces that, too.
In North America, big game like elk, moose, and even some mule deer are in hilly and mountainous regions and it might 800 meters, something short of a kilometer. Gunwerks had a vid of one of the gus' son making a 1,300 yard shot with their 7 mm Rem Mag.
I live in northeast Texas where it is very overgrown and forested, especially on the public land where I hunt, average shot is 50 yards (45 meters.) In the Panhandle, near Amarillo is the Cap Rock Canyon WMA (Wildlife Management Area) and their drawn hunts are for mule deer. The literature for the hunt says to expect snow and ice and arduous hiking conditions (high desert in winter time.) And shots at least 200 yards (high desert, not a lot of trees to hide behind.)
Anyway, thanks for sharing with us the hunts, the technology, and the philoophy. I usually used Ballistic Buddy, which was free. Now, I use Strelok Pro, which costed a few dollars but is well worth it and can true the reticle, too.
@@ronws2007 wow man thanks for the detailed explanation. Its always interesting to see how others hunt and the environment they hunt in. We are very lucky here in NZ we can pretty much hunt any style we want on all public land...close quarters & mid-long range 👍
@@rogeeproductions2509 something else admire in other countries is no limit on suppressors. As opposed to USA. A suppressor is an NFA controlled item requiring a background check, tax stamp, gun trust. I could get a ticket for driving a car with just headers. But go to federal prison for dampening the sound of a rifle.
@@ronws2007 yeah...all my rifles have suppressors fitted
