    For me, it sings in parallel with the Blues Driver gain at 0, clean with a teeny bit if coloring. Then The Angry Charly to give it a thick grit. The clean side keeps it very open sounding and articulate. Just beautiful, thanks!

      I checked the power consumption (batterie life) at the Boss website. Fact is, it eats batteries as fast as the digital distortion pedals DS-1X, BC-2, OD-1X, ML-2 and ST-2. So until Boss corrects me otherwise I'm going to say it's a digital pedal...

    Anyway I got carried away if that's tge guy from all those pedal videos ( I have a ne t to impeccable memory but nanes and numbers.... I wrote a song fir a girl with the wrong name... true story.... doesn't get worse then that , but I rember his dry sense if humor thst I love, the " he's got the box" which... dude when don't you. You're like the ultimate authority when it comes to pedal users and fans if them. Oh and IVE ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT GUITAR YOU ALWAYS PLAY THEM WITH, I USE FENDER I still like my Ibanez rg 8 and Love my Ibanez Jet King, Fender I have pretty every febder I've e er wanted and am customizing them the way I've wanted now too except a Telecaster, which I'm buying next when I have the extra money bc it's definitely not a necessity by now, and I'd want to try a Jazzmaster. Your guitar though even if I git it and didn't like the tone of the pickups, I'd get it just to customize the electronics it looks so cool, but it does sound good it the videos too. WHAT IS IT?! OH AND CONGRATS ON THIS, YOU DESERVE IT AND THE ANGRY CHSRLUE IS AWESOME NO OFFENSE BUT WHY AM I STILL ON HERE WHEN SHOULD BE TRYING IT?! ILL BE BACK ON PROB TI SEE A VIDEO FOR GOOD TONAL SUGGESTION TO AVOID NEUROTICALLY TRYING EVERYTHING WITH EACH JUST THE 6 OF MY 13 ELECTRIC GUITAR HERE. ITLL PARALYZE MYSELF COMPSRING SETTING SO FIR THE SAJECOF PLAYING, IM GONNA CHECK A UA-cam VIDEO ON IT, BC YESTERDAY WHEN I WAS HONE BUT COULDNT PLAY YET BC I WAS CLEANING AND EATING, I WAS STILL BY IT JUST MESSUNG WITH THE FEEDBACK COMPARED THE CHOICES WITH BOTH PEDALS AND BOTH DRIVE KNOBS. I'M OUT I HAVE LIKE AN HOUR BE4 I HAVE A FEW MORE THINGS TO DO, TO PLAY ALONE IN MY APT JUST LIJE I LIKE IT WHEN I FIRST GET A NEW PEDAL I LIKE NOW. WHICH I WOULDNT HAVE BERN OPEN TO IF NOT FOR HIM SO THANKS , NOT INCLUDING THE DRIVE ZONE ONES , OVER 20 DISTORTION PEDALS ( WELL MOSTLY DIST A FEW FUZZES AND PEOPLE CONSUDER THE BLUES DRIVEVABD OVERDRIVE HUH? AND THE ANGRY CHARLIE? Nah it's perfect with the Blues Driver but that's an overdrive/ distortion. W.e point is for now I have 20 more " drive" pedals that l love then befire which was a few and that's from this year alobe and I'm getting everyone I like, especially in between bands unsure what to do and my own styles and tastes, and what songs I create abd just replaced my mic abd got my p.a back, just waiting for tge stand so let's see about the vocals. Oh BTW I'm crazy overjoyed bc I couldn't play for 5 year and bc of a miracle , last April the next day I was pmaying agsin then by the end of the day doing things I coukd be4, yet my radial nerve is still severed at the humerus and my and and fingers still don't work for anything else. So yes I thank God for when I was able to play again after desperately pleading.

    I so already wanted both of these pedals individually. Questions:
    What's the EQ situation on the Angry Charlie setting without the bass, middle, and treble knobs found on the JHS V3?
    What's different about the Blues Driver board? Is it closer to the standard, Waza Craft, or something new all together?

    • @ryansowulski6117
      @ryansowulski6117 2 роки тому

      I just got iT and I've been. Trying just the Blues driver on it with my Blues driver right next to it and did changingvthe tone several tines and gain and THEY BOTH SOUND THE SAME, even some with both I'd have to check abd try again be4 I saud anything but you turn the Angry Charlie down all the way in stacked mode, volume, tone and in drive and again its the Blues driver i jept going baxk and forth and I got mine like new woth the box manuaks EVERYTHING for 165 plus 20 shipping on reverb ( it was 185 but I made offers ) so I'm gonna get a keely mid or Waza craft blue driver abd sell mine bc dude for little more then one pedal you get both then all the different combinations, the parallel bding the most unique of course, I dudnt gave the Angry Charlie before so I do t know about the tone with the tone knob compared to the low, mid and high, but I have a boss ge-7 eq pedal,if I felt I needed it, I probably won't though since tgis is my first tine using the Angry Charlie, but fir the price I paid def worth it, just fir both pedals UT there's so much you can add a footswich.... check reverb. You'll find the Angry Chsrlie alone is not much less then this.

    • @ryansowulski6117
      @ryansowulski6117 2 роки тому

      Oh andcwhatvi said about comparing the Blues Druver with it in the Angry driver and it sounding EXACTLY THE SAME , I have just the regular one, I'm only keeping it until I get one if the nodded ones out of nostalgia and love for it, and NC since I just got the angry Charlie I'm still gonna try stacking the BD-2 before it .... 2 BD-2s or BD-2 Charlie, then Blues on the Angry or BD-2 then parallel or BD-2 then BD-2 then Charlie.... you get my point but I also tried it just before the Charlie alone and it sounded just like the BD-2 then Charlie on the Angry Driver, on all tone options.

    Wait us that the awesome pedal guy?! The " he has the box" one who funny but who's shown me pedals I'd never have known and be stuck only owning like a handful distortions snd I liked period, and on used 3 of them most of the time , maybe one or two fuzzes, to expanding to getting about 20 distortions alone I like in the past few months, well a few some consider overdrives but I love the blues driver and I'd use the Mega distortion stacked be4 it ,( which I didnt know it was called stacking I love the Mega distortion alone too but I started just trying acter the Blues driver pedal lacked the gain the Blues Driver on the Boss od-20 drive had which made it a mild distortion not just overdrive, and heck thats worth it bc the netal zone and a few others i have from it have different setting on the druve zone like attack shape, heavy octave, and bottom, that aot if the pedal versions dont have) anyway the Blue driver at the British setting but gain sll the way up or tone all the way up and gain and ?mega distortion before it dist off tone 12 o clock,( the tone doesn't affect it that much) then THE REASON I HOT THE UDEA BE4 I HEARD IF STACKING..... tje GAIN BOOST all the way up! Which is what five me Tgat Blues driver tone I love but the gain I NEED, bottom anywhere from 1 to 4 o'clock bc IT DOES AFFECT THE BOTTOM TONE ALMOST LIKE THERE WAS A BOTTOM KNOB ON THE BLUES DRIVER! Of course a bottom knob on it that GOES WITH IT not a metalish sounding one. Ok I hot sidetracked nut I got the Angry Charlie and he's right, I never Eben owned a JHS pedal be4 but this is awesome the Charlie is awesome , and I was suprised with the Blues Driver first how nasty is still sounded and how much feed back I'd get with both gains all the way up and the parallel is like both pedal having a love child with the best genes of both, except you can lower the Charlie or the Blues driver , same with Tobe and volume, you do them all equal and it sounds like I described? But I just got iT 2 days ago and have been so busy I fell asleep trying it yesterday finally , I still have the Mega dist the Blues drive before it on the chain so I've tried added just the gain from the Mega dist, but if it's just the MD2 and BD-2 or the Charlie and Driver those two work better either order but I'm still not selling my Blues driver, wgen I get a keeley mod or BDW-2 AT LEAST then I will, bc I've only dabbled but now that I'm hone earlier I'm gonna try the Blues drive before another Blues Driver and Angry Charlie and of course BD Charlie then BD and for tge parallel besides all the combinations with a knob for each pedal, double knobs stacked on each other, to se the tonal possibilities, and of course for the o
    Parallel I'm gonna try the BD-2 and then the MD-2 before it and both before it too. Since the MD-2 ( besides tge bottom if you choose to turn it up will add to it without "affecting" like changing the tone ) when just using the gain boost is perfect for literally just adding gain and taking pedal that you like tge tone off but lack the gain and making them distorted enough or taking them from overdrives to distortion s. It even works with a lot of Fuzzes I've used, though if course tge guitar will cut through at least a bit less. Not much though.

    I wonder if this is an analog or a digital pedal? The specs say its current draw is 50mA, which is very unusual for an analog overdrive pedal which should have a current draw between 3 to 15 mA?

    • @PepeMusic

      I checked the power consumption (batterie life) at the Boss website. Fact is, it eats batteries as fast as the digital distortion pedals DS-1X, BC-2, OD-1X, ML-2 and ST-2. So until Boss corrects me otherwise I'm going to say it's a digital pedal. Could be wrong, but very unlikely...

      It's an Analogue pedal - two analogue drive circuits. Uses a digital internal switching system to realize all the routing options. Hence the 50 mA current draw

      That's a typical BOSS thing. In most cases in the past BOSS used a "2" in the model name, even if it's the first or only one of that series. In the eyes of the BOSS people it looks like an already established unit (for many years only the CH-1 has been an exception, AFAIK because the product manager didn't know that rule).

    • @franciscosdecansino7990

      Pepe Music yeah like the SD-1, DS-1,PH-1 among others

    • @PepeMusic
      @PepeMusic 7 років тому

      Well, in the beginning all the pedals had a "1" in their name when they were first introduced. The method of using the number "2" instead started in the '80s with models like the DD-2, HM-2, MT-2 and so on. That was the standard rule for many years. And it was only the CH-1 that broke that rule during that time. In the last few years we have seen other exceptions (FRV-1 or RC-1 for example).

Every JHS modded pedal I've tried sounds nothing better or even worse than the stock version. Not to mention his pedals which are filled with cheap SMD parts but as expensive as boutique pedal. Did I mention the design of pedal case? It looks so lame for that price. You are buying a painted steel can with doodle.

    Time for Boss to reinvent it's aesthetic and UI. Cramming all of that functionality into the same space is silly. Look at how the pedal market supports all sizes and shapes.... Don't pedal junkies LOVE diversity and character?

    • @michaelinglis8516
      @michaelinglis8516 5 років тому +4

      Wow it's a good thing you don't work for boss. I only have a few boss pedals (Lol exactly 3 out of my 12-13 pedals) but their enclosure is a huge huge HUGE REASON for their success. Nothing is easier than building a pedal board with all boss pedals. They are one of the only company's big enough they can say with confidence that lots of guitar players prefer their pedals and use only Boss. Because of that a universal enclosure is a great idea for so many reasons i couldnt list them all if I tried. Plus new boss pedals have an iconic look right out of the gate which makes them much easier for people to attach nostalgia to them. If they started making different shapes a massive part about what makes boss pedals so convenient for beginners and pros alike would be lost. Its the same with their pedals pretty much all being buffered bypass, tons of guitar players will put a boss pedal in the beginning and end of their pedal boards when lots of pedals are being used and signal loss is a problem. Even with this true bypass boom (which beginners think is so important) they still keep their pedals buffered because that's what works(buffers have a purpose and without them you'll have trouble with signal loss). Tell any pro guitar player your having signal loss and dont wanna spend money on a buffer and they are likely to tell you to use a boss pedal as a buffer. I respect your opinion but it's pretty ignorant I respect it cause you obviously don't know what your talking about. You obviously arent stupid just completely unaware of what makes these iconic pedals iconic. They weren't born into a market saturated with boutique homeade pedal copys that all have to be true bypass. They were born into a market where players just wanted affordable access to quality effects so they could create the music they wanted. What Boss provided was a solid, easy to operate pedal with a great interface that would last the customer years to come. Boss is largely the reason we associate certain colors with specific effects. Not everything needs to be modernized or redone. If you haven't noticed a lot of products these days are shit so why ruin something good . Now can we stop telling pedal company's to fix things that aren't broken.
