Replacing the fuel pump on a 2000 Nissan Xterra.
My past neighbors Xterra was not starting because it was sitting for more than a year. the gas got bad, it damaged the fuel pump and tank.
I bought it for $300, due to my current neighbor complaining of the eye sore on my yard to the city. I had to get it running to sell it quick.

Great video Angel, sorry about the complaining neighbor, I live here in Mississippi and started working on cars since 1985 as a side hustle. The company I worked full time,( Rohm and Haas), moved its operations to Mexico, so I had to go full time and my neighbors never complained. Good old southern hospitality. They will always be people that will try to find something wrong with what you are doing. A lot of it has to do with just plain jealous, why would you want to report someone who's fixing a car? I understand the work done to gas pump. But the gas tank itself was catastrophic. needed to be cleaned very well before you install the new pump.
On the other hand, if you do sell it anyway, the new owner need to do that. That of course among so many things.

Mine was sitting for 4 years. Pumped the old gas out from the fuel pump opening. (Remove the 3 covers) and slide the siphoning hose in and pump it out. Fill with new gas and bingo. Started right up. =). No problems.
I did not know that it is possible to diagnose a malfunction of the fuel pump. Quick and easy. Like. Я не знал что так можно диагностировать неисправность топливного насоса. Быстро и просто. Лайк.

@Joe Black They probably didn't realize he would need access to the rear seat at all, most people don't know the fuel pump access panel is located there in many vehicles. But yeah they could have tidied up a bit.

I see in the video that he just had one extra vehicle in the front, not an extra dirty messy and oil vehicle. I think it's completely acceptable. I know it's not exactly on the drive way but hey, it's not make the ground oily and bumper falling apart, why care? Good skill you passing around man, thanks!

When your trying to get ahead of the game and support your family it's really unfair that a neighbour stabs you in the back with an official complaint. He/she could have had a friendly word to a friendly mechanic before going down the official route.

At least that violation letter did not say you cannot work on your vehicle in the neighbor. I live in the neighbor that I cannot even change my own oil and it sucks. According to the HOA, it is a major car repair. LOL They might even count replacing a headlight bulb as major repair since you have to pull headlight assembly off to replace a bulb in many modern vehicles.
Unfortunately Angel there will always be unhappy people with no reason to screw you. They just want to make themselves feel better by raining on someone's parade. I would be thrilled to have you live on my block. You probably don't even need to fix friends and neighbors cars. Yet you give them a good price and always have a smile while doing so.
Look at that beast just wanting to run!, and you got a pretty sweet deal with that xterra not the best looking car, but it have a solid engine and you don't have to drop the damn tank to get to the fuel pump.

I wouldnt even pay $500 for that corolla. The engine rattles, the car has been hit in an accident, the A/C doesnt work and he obivously didnt do regular maintenance on it. You are a very nice guy FIA for even giving these people your time.

In AUSTRALIA when you sell the car, it's the responsibility of the purchaser to make sure the car is in good shape before he purchases. There a mobile mechanics now that can inspect cars before purchasing a car. You cant ask the seller to pay for repairs on a car that you already sold. thats stupid!!! the buyer has responsibility also!

I think sometimes people complaint to much about stuff don’t really matter you are doing a descent living working from your I think they should complaint about people doing bad stuff that’s my personal opinion
fan supra I try to show what I do help people how repair goes. And this is my way of fixing cars. When someone comments and thinks I did something wrong to their eyes I get scolded or called names. I guess I will get criticized on every video. I just let them know, if you are so good on fixing cars, let’s see your videos and then it would teach the whole world instead pointing my mistakes.
