I just did a bearing replacement on my son-in-law's Toyota Matrix today, and you really summed up very well all the steps - and I love the camera angles, audio, editing (the pacing is fantastic), and definitely the cuss words, as they are very necessary during this job. This is the first video of yours I have watched, and subscribed immediately after watching. Thanks very much!

I don't know why I haven't subscribed a long time ago. I did a timing belt on a car I bought for body parts because of this guy... swamped all the good body parts out put a $20 timing belt and sold it for more than what I paid for it.

Great video.......one quick question. What is the purpose of the Allen wrench clearance? I thought when you press in the bearing and spindle, it bottoms out and that is the pre set clearance?

Nice vid. As a mechanic, I've just given the knuckle a good solid few hits beside the joint with the hammer to release the tie rod/ball joint from the knuckle. The shock of the hit releases the joints as the tapper wants to drive out; when tightened the tapper actually expands the knuckle ever so little and that "shock" will allow the knuckle to spit out the joint . Never used a joint tool in 20 years of wrenching and never had any issues with messing up a knuckle.

There is a handy hub puller that also installs the bearing for those folks who do not have access to press and bearing splitter. We purchased our from summit racing equipment catalog for under $100.00. Good quality item and saved hundreds of dollars on hub bearing replace on our Honda fit. Yes, we also had to cut the inner race off of hub with a cut off saw. It's just how it is. We love our tool from summit.

This video was perfect. Not only was it a great walk-through on how to repair my Honda Ody (with the same bad bearing), but it was also a great way to see what tools to rent. The local Autozone had almost everything I needed to get this done.
Plus I love how excited you got with every completed step. "Yes!"
I watched it three times. The editing is great, and not as slow as so many other repair videos. Nice Job. Keep up the great work.

Great video. Gave me the courage to tackle this job. Unfortunately, my Spindle was stuck in the hub assembly/knuckle. (Had to get it air hammered out). Ended up buying a new CV Axle from my local Big Name Auto Parts Store. Got my new bearing pressed in by a local mechanic, I installed my new CV Axle, and assembled everything. However, when I torqued down my spindle nut, the rotor/hub assembly pushed in towards the knuckle and now the back of my rotor hits my caliper bracket. Do you think this could be because of the CV Axle not being OE? I’ve tried to different Axles from two different stores, with the same results...at my wits end.

Just finished one of these on an '04 Pilot. I've done many at the Honda dealer over the years, but when I finished this one, the damn noise was still there! I decided to move the tires around, but that was no help. Still noise on the left front. I got the National bearing from Autozone and it seems to me that I've heard some stories about when bearings sit on the shelf for years and years, they tend to go bad, but I sure don't want to do this a second time, on the floor in my garage, only to have that noise still be there! I wish I had one of those kits that pick up noise and sends it to your headphones, Maybe it's coming from somewhere else and just sounds like the left front. Maybe all of the Nokian tires are singing? I'm about ready to give up!

It is not a very loud noise however my car stopped being silent when running.
