Loved this , thank you! It's been around 20 yrs since I last did crochet, checked out you beginner vids to remind myself then got stuck into this as some good repetitive practice.
In the middle of making this scarf. Very easy to follow (myself being left-handed as well). There are some steps missing however but still manageable. For some people asking about steps after first round, I did a slip stitch through both threads in the 3rd chain of the first double/treble stitch at the beginning of the first round, chained 4, then continued on each double/treble stitch into each space afterwards (as seen in the last round on this video). I used standard cheap yarn to do a practice scarf first using a 6mm hook and it has still turned out really well. I made mine double the length to wrap around twice, so chained 300 instead of 150 for a longer length. Hope this helps anyone who is a little stuck with steps :)
Thank you for this. I had already asked before reading your comment
You're welcome; glad I could help :)
The tutorial is saying " you won't need to finish your rows or anything " see (2:44 ) so this is not the way the tutorial intends for the rows to be done. The scarf is to be worked in a spiral. I am waiting for confirmation from ExpressionFiber Arts that a double crochet has to inserted in the third stitch ( in the 4 first chains in the first row )
Thank you! I ripped it apart 4 times before deciding to read the comments
Oh wow, if it hadn't been for you. I'd just unraveled all the yarn and would have started looking for something else to do. I'm so glad I kept reading the comments. Thank you so much for your kind help. You really know how to explain things. Again, thank you!
Besides chains when I was a little girl (in my 40s now) I've never crocheted. 4 hours after watching this video I'm sitting here with my new infinity scarf around my neck. The directions were super easy to follow and I'm so excited. I can't wait to show it off. Thank you SOOOOOO much for your video. For others, I recommend watching the "How to" on Chaining and Double Crotchet, with those, this is a piece of cake
I just finished my first infinity scarf! Your video is straightforward and simple...thank you!
This is the best video !!! So easy to follow and understand. I'm working on my third scarf now. Thank you for showing a newbie how easy it is to create a beautiful scarf.
+Wanda Phillips Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video! ; )
Sorry to read that some people couldn't follow your instructions. I think they were great and I'm a beginner. This was my first project and I'm soooo pleased with the results of this scarf! I wish I could show you! :-)
Great video, I made two of these with thicker yarn and adjusting the length of the chain and they turned out amazing
+Haley Jones Excellent! Thanks so much!
If y’all are like me and like a nice looking flow to the next round, I modified this by slip stitching to the top of the chain, then slip stitched over 1 more stitch (so that you are in the middle and not on top of a stitch), chained 4 and then DC into next chain space around. Once to the end I again slip stitched to the 3rd chain of my previous chain 4, slip stitched once more to get me to the middle instead of on top of a stitch, chained 4 then DC into next space again. Repeat that and stop when it’s long enough for you. Hope that helps 😊
Thank you, Charlene!! I’m going to do the same thing!!❤️❤️🧶🧶
@@carolsnyder7778 you are welcome! 🧶 💗
I love this video, I followed along and crocheted my first ever infinity scarf for my daughter and she absolutely loves it, going to make myself one now too, thank you
+Laura Percival Fantastic!! Thanks for watching! : )
I want to thank you for making these videos. they are very helpful, I relearned how to crochet. So I say thank you.
thank you so much for this video! I have only been making blankets and pot holders so it's so amazing to learn something new!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the great pattern! This was very easy to make - it took no time at all. I'm making these in different colors for Christmas presents.
love this. you just saved me from driving out in the cold and taking a lesson. Love your instructions! I just subcribed. Starting out again after years of not crocheting
Yay! So happy! 😍😍
Perfect timing..I was just thinking this morning how I wanted to try and crochet myself a scarf..and bam here you are with this video! Lol Thanks for sharing!
+Mandy Bunn You are welcome! Glad you liked it! : )
Chandi ~ Thank you so very much for taking the time make videos and share your knowledge with all of us.
What many people obviously do not understand, you make these videos out of the goodness of your heart and I am so thankful for you doing so!!! I have learned so much from your videos and I've been crocheting for well over 46+ years.
Have a great week and again, thank you Chandi 😄
+Beth Schuster Thank you for those kind words Beth! 💜
Love it. Thinking of some Christmas gifts for the ladies at my job. Thinking about making them some infinity scarves.
Beautiful! The instructions are very simple, I have made 2 of them and now working on my third one. I used Bernat POP yarn (beiges) and a J hook, very soft. Thank you for sharing, I hope to make many more, all the best, Michelle xo
Lovely!
Beautiful scraf, your instructions were very clear. Christmas presents ticked, thank you.
I am not a beginner, but was looking for a quick project for some Christmas gifts and I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Brights color and it is making a beautiful scarf for a teenager!! Thanks!!
Thank you for the pattern. I worked in the round for a total of 17 rows. I finished off with a chain one and slip stitch in the next chain one space.
You are welcome! Perfect!
Great video, but I am an absolute beginner! I know how to chain & was totally getting the skip a chain and double crochet. The pattern was great. I was getting excited to create my scarf. Then the video skipped to multitudes of width. So how did you get to this point? Need to find another video I suppose. STUCK
Just finished my first scarf thanks to your video!
it is beautiful color yarn that remind me of beach...i love it and thank you sharing video for infinity scarf and looking to start this soon.
Absolutely amazing. Work on it on the bus home for 40 mins each and I'm done within a week and a smidge (I only began crocheting last week) so it's super easy for beginners!!! :)
That's incredible! You are a quick learner!
@@ExpressionFiberArts thanks!!
after the first round I have no idea what happens next.
Hello I love it sooo so much thank you for your videos!! How long it will take for a biginer start to finish?
I love this pattern and it's just what I was looking for! Super easy too...thank you 💕💕💕
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks, was just about to learn to crochet today!
Such a great pattern, I've used it several times!! Thank you!!
You are very welcome!
Very very astonishing art work, keep it up.Very impressive stitching!!!
Thank you! 😍😍
I love your crochet videos! I'm currently making a few of these, since it's getting to be scarf weather where I live, but what I'm wondering is if you could have a video showing how to crochet a blanket? I attempted one for my mom this past summer, and somehow it turned into a fan shape instead of a rectangle.
+KrystinaTheAlien I absolutely can add that to my list of videos to create! : )
So easy. A great help as u helped me learn how to crochet! Thnx
You are welcome!
Awesome vid. It was very clear and easy to follow. I also love the Zee Zee plant in the background..you know me..I love the details.
+Lori Lynette XOXOXO!!
You are an excellent patient teacher.
Thank you!
I made it today and found it easy. I’m a beginner. Being an infinity scarf made it easier I found.
Perfect!
Love this pattern. Your video is awesome!❤️
Thank you! 😘
Great video and such a sweet easy scarf to do, your instructions were clear as bells :)
Thank you!
Can you answer the question of what you do after first row to join it ?
Love this! I can't wait to try it!
+AgSunshine Yay!
Beautiful scarf thank you!! Im new at this and looking forward to trying this out!
Awesome!
This is super helpful. Thanks!!
Love this video thank you straight to the point. I just made two scarfs love it. What is the typical width for this style?
I would say about 8-12 inches is a pretty typical size.
Wow! Loving your videos. I want to start learning on how to crochet scarves. I am a beginner. Thank God I found you. What items do I need?
Just a hook and some yarn and you are golden!
I am working on a blanket and I am doing the exact same stitch as you in this project! Lol, I found this video after I started my blanket.
Awesome!
I think this would be a really nice video if you showed what to do after the 1st round. You don't say if you should slip stitch to join the row and my impression is that you just crochet into a spiral without connecting anything and when I tried that it looked really odd. Wish you would have taken the time to give a little more direction because I would have loved to make this scarf.
Agreed! My though exactly!
She does say that your working a spiral but I've yet to figure out how to do this x
Yea she wasn’t very thoroughly but once you completed your foundation chain and joined it together, it then becomes a circle so you would do your double crochet and chain 1 then skip a stitch and do a double crochet and chain 1 - repeat this to the end of the round then slip stitch to the top of your first double crochet then double crochet into each of the spaces (holes/gaps) you created on the last round until you’ve reached your desired length/width... she did multiple rounds off camera and then showed you the next step ... hopes this helps and makes sense...
Paula Castleman xx
Its a spiral, you don't join you just keep crocheting like in a circle. Duh
No problem following the instructions. If she had showed it all the way
through you would have complained it was to long. Have a blessed day.
This was the easiest project I have made thus far, and its only my 4th project. I am new to crocheting and I am already addicted. Do you have a tutorial for an easy winter hat and the fingerless gloves? I am so happy I found your channel, thanks for sharing your talent.
I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Here's a simple crochet hat video: ua-cam.com/video/42C1KTZD34o/v-deo.html
We don't really have a video for fingerless gloves, but this free pattern might be simple enough for you to tackle on your own: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/decadence.html
So easy to fallow thank you very much for sharing this video!
Glad it was helpful!
How many rounds did you make yours? It's really pretty
Love it.. making for my daughter.❤
Hi, what weight yarn are you using? Thank you!
thanks...
this was very confusing, but I got the hang of it♥
thanks so much!!!
(just so you know.. I did enjoy :)
Could you please tell me .What number hook do I use to make it ?
Easy to crochet also fun. You can change colors also..
how do you get from row 2 to row 3? thanks 😃
Beautiful!
My question is can you do this as solid stitch instead of the gaps in it
you are so sweet. just the way you explain and talk.
I'm assuming that at the end of the first row you slip stitch into the top of the first chain 3? And then begin the DC into the chain spaces and chain one?
Marie kute that sounds about right!
that was a great ideal for Christmastime.
Yes!
Hi, after you slip stitch, do you chain 4 to start each new round? Thanks!
Yes you do.
Okay! Thanks!!
What brand of hooks do you use?
Thank you
I'm making this scarf for a coworker using Caron Simply Soft Party in purple.I like the lacy pattern of this scarf, how can I make this just as a regular wrap around scarf? How many chains would I need for a turning chain? Should I make it lengthwise or shortwise? Any suggestions anyone or attach a link/video if you've seen one. Thanks.
Nevermind, I figured it out using a wiki how tutorial.
I made it no prob..ty. great for xmas gift for my daughter
You are welcome! ❤️
I MAKE THIS SCARF. THANK YOU
You are welcome! 🥰
i would like to know what size hook you used like in diameter and thank you for the wonderful video tutorials i am in love with them you taught me how to knit and i am currently obsessed and i live in arizona its getting colder
+Care Bear8087 It is a g hook (4.0 mm). Hook size isn't crucial on this project. XOXO
ExpressionFiberArts thank you so much
You are welcome! ; )
Nice scarf, I need to make it
+Zethel Carter Thanks! : )
I'm not to sure how to connect the ends on the first round... I've tried to slip stitch but it doesn't really look quite right... Help me, please? lol Thanks :)
+ToxicTrysh
You don't need to work a slip stitch this infinity scarf is worked on a spiral so just like Chandi says once you have worked the first round you double crochet in the chain one space and keep going til the end. You only need to slip stitch to join the chain at the beginning and again at the end of the scarf. Hope this helps. :)
I slip stitch in the 3rd chain on that first ch4 to start the row. Then chain 4 again starting the next row and do the double crochet in the next space. Not sure how she did it in the video but once you get a few rows done you will see it looks right. Hope this helps.
How many rows do you do is there a written pattern
What is DO weight yarn..i am new
The video is great! Do you have the pattern written out so I don't have to keep referring to the video and so I can keep for future use? This will be my first infinity scarf - EXCITED!
+Cindy Lou I do have a written pattern. However, it is only available if you buy the beginners kit that accompanies this video. You can find the kit on my shop www.expressionfiberarts.com Have a great day and thanks for watching the video!
Is it possible to just purchase the pattern? I have hooks galore and have already purchased yarn.
Have an AWESOME day!
sure thing. Send me a message on my website. Expressionfiberarts.com Use the contact tab and I will be able to help you!
Enjoyed video.
How wide and what is the circumference of your scarf and what size yarn and needle?
Thank you
Barbara
We used a US size G hook. I don't have that other information available for you. Sorry.
Hi expressionsfiberarts I am a little bit stuck do I slip stitch or double crochet when I get round to the chain four ?
Amanda Gratrix Check out the video called 'ocean shimmer caplet cowl' on the Fiber Flux channel. There, Jennifer explains that the first 3 chains count as a double crochet and the final as a ch 1 space. I believe she works a dc into the 3rd or 4th chain from the original ch4. Have a look to check!
Lovely
Thank you!
I went with 200 chains for my length then joined together. I have 100 dbl. crochets as the scarf goes around. The 100 dbl. crochets do stay the same as I crochet more rows but it looks to me as if the scarf itself, where I join with the slip not, has a twist to it. Is that normal? I do love this pattern !!!!
+Jeannie Folweiler To avoid that, make sure your chains aren't twisted when you begin the first round. You can continue to work it. You will simply have a twist in your scarf. : )
If I want to make an infinity scarf that wraps around twice, would you recommend chaining double the amount?
Jessica Fordyce
Yes, chain 300 and work in the round. Slip stitch in the beginning and at the end. No other slip stitches are needed to add height. I made this for a friend who loves purple and I chained about 220 because she didn't want it superlong. I was working on this 1 day at the doctors office and a little old lady was decked out in purple, she almost got the scarf had I been finished with it.
how many rows did you do?
How wide is the finished scarf please
bonjour merci beaucoup c très simple et beau 👍
Do we have to use that yarn?Im a beginner just starting to get it and idrk if we have to use exactly that yarn/hook
You don't have to! Any yarn and hook should work!
i have tried to crochet many many times before, except I have serious problems adding the rows after the chain no matter what stitch comes next when u reverse. i had the same issue with this vid. the slip stitch to join to the next row can you please tell me if u go into both stitches of the first row(chain) or only one side of the chain stitch.. please help me. I really want to make this for my 6 year old second cousin she really wants a scarf....
I understand every thing except that part and as u said in other comments that can mess u up the worst and i dont want to screw up the beginning
+Jess Sulouff I am not exactly sure what you mean.... I wish I could be of more help. 😞
great video! however, i am struggling to start my 3rd row. I just got all the way around doing my first double crochet, but I have a weird gap and don't know how to go start a 3rd row. any advice?
Lauren Haight perhaps you could sew and pull the stitches in a little? Is there a way to get some kind of link to a photo of the work?
I actually figured it out a few weeks ago and it came out great! Thank you for videos!
Lauren Haight you want to do a slip stitch to join the rows and then start off on your next row in that same stitch
great video!!!!!!!!!!! What does it mean 50 in 100?
Did it take only that little ball of yarn to make that whole scarf. I'm just curious so that I know the amount of yarn to buy. Cause I'm totally interested in making one for my cousin's birthday. Thank you!
+Munazzah ahmed It did take this one ball of yarn to make the scarf. : )
What is the name of this stitch ? I'm a little confused, and want to make sure I understand the stitch. Thanks.
Lovely 😊
Thank you! 😊
Is there a pattern available for this, that includes gauge. I'd like to make this, but would like a longer length.
It's available as a kit here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/beginners-crochet-infinity-scarf-kit-choose-your-color.html
easy instructions I made one last year now I'm making one for my toddler boy! in a manly 'dull' colour of course. hehe.
lol! : )
what is the easiest way to not twist your chain when joining ends?
+Rachel Giles Look up how to do a foundation chain if you would like. That is helpful in not twisting your chain. : )
thank you
Ugh I'm trying to figure out how to finish my scarf but mine isn't ending evenly like yours is!! Where did I go wrong? When I go to slip stitch the chain space to finish it the row I was working on is higher than the previous row so it's not a straight line if that makes any sense 😢 any suggestions would be great. Awesome videos by the way!!!!
+Chance Cathey you can block it and smooth out that edge.... or, you can taper down and instead of doing double crochets do half-double for a little while to taper down the edge. Then finish off. hopefully this helps! : )
Mine looks nothing like yours :( I feel like there's a step missing
That is because she did not show what to do in the second around.
Hi! I just ordered Carnal yarn to make this! Will the kits for this come back in stock? Thanks
They sure will! You can check it out!

What is the count, I want to make it longer! Love the video, I have a new favorite!
+Esther Casper The count is 150. If you want to make it longer chain more than 150 at the beginning. : )
+ExpressionFiberArts. I can't figure out how you end one row and move on to the next. mine looks wonky. any help appreciated.
ok my only thing with this scarf is what it looks like is you have skipped a chain space when you do a double crochet am I just going crazy or is that what you fid?
muy Bonita bufanda y facilities de hacer
can you do a video on how to knit a infinity scarf
+vicky huynh Thanks for the suggestion! We can definitely add it to our list of videos to create!
The "Size G" hook I got a Michaels looks much smaller than yours, and my stitches look smaller too. Is Size G universal or is it possible that it's different across locations? I know that seems like it should be universal, but I can't understand otherwise why my size G is smaller.
HQuinn sometimes the letters can be different, but she is using a G/6. However the more universal measurement would be in millimetres - She's using a 4.00mm crochet hook.
