ELGIN CITY FC WEBSITE: www.elgincity.net/
In this video I visited the most Northern league club in Britain, Elgin City FC! Elgin play in League 2 (fourth tier) of the Scottish football pyramid.
As well as a tour of the Scottish Highlands, I took a look around their stadium (Borough Briggs) and spoke to their chairman (Graham Tatters).
#Elgin #ScottishHighlands #Scotland - Спорт
Which places do you want to see next in my vlogs?
Would be amazing!
Accrington Stanley ⚽🏴🏴🇵🇹
Try Orkney
Istanbul!
Isle of Man would be intriguing if possible...
Or Tromso in Norway...
The man you interviewed is what keeps that club going, he puts a helluva shift in each game week, even been known to make the halftime sandwiches.
Yep, you can tell he loves the club!
You are the 1st youtuber in my opinion, You find Scottish football good, Everything is not just about Celtic and Rangers top quality 👍👍
That's huge thanks mate! Theres so much history in Scottish football 😁👌
Footy Adventures Thanks
Interesting Fact: Elgin and Brechin are allowed to call their teams City because they both have a Cathedral which was one of the requirements for a place to be able to call itself a city in times gone by
Oh cool! I'll mention that in my upcoming Brechin video haha!
Buckie Thistle are Elgin City's rivals and have a great history too. They play in the highland league, they are the only non league side to win a game at hampden and were recently featured in a Stephen King book just to give you an idea of their weird and wonderful history! Im sure they'd be willing to talk to you too for a video! Only just found your videos tonight and have enjoyed them all. cheers!
Nice sounds good, I'll check them out! Glad you're enjoying the channel mate!
I live round the corner from Borough Briggs, went to school in Lossie. Great video. Nice little promo for the club.
Best name on you tube pissed mysel
Really enjoyed that. Really interesting seeing these smaller clubs and speaking with the people on the ground there. Nice one mate.
Cheers mate! Appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed! I hope to work with more clubs in the future!
Good stuff! I support Annan and Carlisle. Really interesting to see Elgin I would love to get up there. Graham Tatters seems not only a dedicated and passionate man but a genuine gentleman and cool dude.
Good luck to Elgin City and their fans.
Thanks! Elgin is a great club and Graham a quality chairman!
once again, I really love this kind of video when you help bringing more attention to them small clubs, where the football are totally for the fans. cheers!
Cheers Kyoo, glad you enjoyed! I really enjoy making videos with all sized clubs. But I love bringing new clubs to the attention of fans around the world! More vids coming soon :)
well done nice to see little clubs being featured good interview good luck to Elgin city
Wow I'd love to live up there its my dream to live up north rather than live in a city I love the countryside I love my country Scotland ❤♥💙 great video love it keep up the good work buddy 👍🏴👍🏴👍🏴
Tremendous knowledge of all the clubs! Love to see the passion and interest in all the clubs you visit. Come on the Black and Whites
Thank you! Really appreciate that!
Fantastic video Sam - real insight into the lower league of Scottish pyramid and how that managed they’re way out of covid 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏👏
Did you not go to Lossiemouths ground when you were there? They play in the highland league. There is a few Highland league clubs around that area such as Forres Mechanics, Nairn, Lossie, Buckie, Keith
Tremendous vid wee man! Also glad tae see that you're seeing some beautiful parts a bonnie Scotland 🏴🏴❤
Stumbled across this channel and it's absolutely fantastic. Great content . Informative and doesn't focus just on what everyone else does . Brilliant job 👍 highly recommend this channel to all

Thanks again mate, I can see you're working through a few of my vids! Really appreciate that. I'm back in the Highlands now funnily enough, I'll be releasing 5 new Highland vids over the next week or so! :D
We visited Elgin and surrounding areas during the Summer. Me and my son took a walk around Borough Briggs football ground. Funnily enough we also ended up in Lossiemouth too. Good job on the videos about Scottish football.
Great video mate! I really feel sorry for the smaller clubs in these times, hope fans are allowed back in soon!
Cheers mate! It's tough times for them all, so hopefully fans can get back soon!
Can any Elgin fans tell me the back story of how a Geordie geezer has rocked up in Elgin ? He certainly seems very commited to the club for sure .
Catching up on this.....since this was last year. Spent many of young boy years in Forres, where the "Mechanics" were the team....Suggested to you recently to go up here...but you had already been...The whole Morayshire area is a thing of beauty, with my all time favourite place being Findhorn, and Kinloss, which used to home the now basically closed RAF base I believe.... just outside of Forres. Again, thanks for highlighting this section of Scottish football, it shows the pride, desire and efforts made locally to keep "fitba" alive and relevant...long away from the major clubs and their dramas....
Absolutely brilliant video, Never been to Elgin but have always followed them since my days of playing LMA manager as a kid and have made it my mission to get to a game after lockdown! I’m from Plymouth so it’s only around the corner haha!
Keep crushing the content. Loving the regular uploads🤝
Thanks Fergie! Sticking to the 2 per week target I set myself!
here from the clyde video nice to see my local team in a video 😍
Nice hello! Thanks for watching my videos mate.
This is really interesting, I'm Scottish (a Scottish vlogger at that) and was SURE Inverness and Ross County would have been further north, but how wrong was I! Great stuff!
Cheers Steve! Yeah Elgin is ever so slightly more northern! Thanks for watching again!
Great channel and great content...so glad you checked out and gave time to some of the smaller clubs in Scotland. Great interview and very interesting. I remember the heady days and crazy journey of Gretna...sad ending to an amazing fairytale. I'd urge others to share and promote this channel if they can. Another enjoyable episode...thanks.
I'm definitely checking out Gretna soon! Their story sounds incredible. Thanks for supporting the channel, it's very much appreciated!
Luckily they’re attempting a sort of AFC Wimbledon story up there now, since 2008. I didn’t realize it had been so long.
@@jlyo1991 I'm filming a Gretna video today funnily enough!
We spent a few days in Fochabers a few years ago. Beautiful territory.
Yeah so nice!
Excellent vid, on my bucket list to do all the Scottish grounds on day .
Yeah I want to cover as many of them as possible!
Nice Job Mate!! I'm from Elgin and I can confirm that your research is correct! After this is all over you should definitely come back!
Thanks, will do!
Another excellent video and good luck to Elgin FC
Thank you very much!
Another great vid. Small fact for you Partick Thistle and Elgin have never played in a competitive game in Scottish Football history, never been in the same league and never drawn each other in the cup
Wow! What are the chances?!?!
Footy Adventures yeah it’s unbelievable, really frustrating as no one can tick it off their away day list. Hopefully we can play them up their one day in the cup or something 🤞
I do a fair bit of hiking but never done Scotland. On my list in the near future and visiting places like Elgin. Thanks for these brilliant videos ✌️
Thanks. Really enjoyed this.
Brilliant Video Once Again!
Thanks again mate!
Another great video, covering content you don’t usually see👍🏻
Thanks mate! Glad you're enjoying my videos! I love covering the lesser known clubs 😊
Brilliant Video! More Scottish trips soon please!
Thanks Gems! More coming soon!
Most folk never heard of Elgin never mind been up this way!! Respect, keep up the good work. ,✌️🏴
Surprised to have stumbled across these videos. Some great content. Only thing that gets to me is the title...Elgin isn't in the Highlands, it's in Moray 😂
Which is in the highlands
Class ground, went there for a friendly last season and it's one of those small grounds thats got a lot of character and charm to it. Would definitely recommend anyone to go whenever that's possible.
Yeah, it's got a nice wee feel to it!
COYR
I’ve actually attended a game here a couple of years ago v Annan. We’d come up to watch a Forres Mechanics game, but that was called off due to a frozen pitch. So we went to watch Elgin instead. Best pies I’ve ever had at a game!
Sorry for being late but awesome video and nice historic ground clearly! Awesome place too!
No worries, thanks for watching!
Great video mate 🔥🔥
Thanks 🔥
Great video brou!!!
I just started an Elgin save on Football Manager so finding this was great. Cheers.
Ah nice! I hope it made you see a bit of the real Elgin! Hope you end up winning the Champions League!
I thought Ross county further North? Anyway great video pal. Love your videos in and about Glasgow too. Keep up the good work
Hi Max, I looked into it and Elgin are only just slightly more north than Ross County. There's not a lot in it though! More content coming soon, thanks for watching!
Don Murray who played for Cardiff City in the sixties was a native of Elgin.
Amazing video!
Glad you think so! Thanks!
Please come to wincham park home of Witton Albion in the NPL, also rented by Northwich vics....cracking set up and lovely fans and staff.....love your videos btw
Thanks mate! I'll add them to my list!
That’s a super cool badge!!
@2:55 you can see Elgin Job Centre god i dont miss that place.brings back memories of the time the river burst its banks and flooded the town all the way right upto moray college, it got me out of college a few hours early that day. hope you at least visited both Elgin Castle upon Ladys Hill and Elgin Catherdral.
Another good video!
Thanks again! Glad you enjoyed!
You should drop by to the Cappershots Stadium that Waltham abbey Fc play at btw love your vids man🙌🏼
I'll check it out!
Can’t wait for more videos when theres less travel restrictions !!
Same mate! Thanks for watching!
I watched a fascinating video of the Shetland FA. Think a trip there would make a great video.
What a lovely looking place.
It really is!
Greetings from Bulgaria. Gl Elgin ,sometimes I bet on you . And nice video
Hello! Thanks for watching my video all the way from Bulgaria 🇧🇬🙏
Superb fella
Thank you! Cheers!
You will hit 10k subs by October !!!!👏👏🤙🏽🤙🏽⚽️⚽️
That would be amazing 🤯
Yes the team I play for !
Brilliant video. What's the epic fantasy music you used at around 12 minutes in?
class video
Thanks Ben!
You forgot John McGinlay former Bolton and Scotland international also played for Elgin City.
Lovely part of Scotland and along with Ross County who are the most northern Premier team. I heard that the Southern teams hate going up there---cold and windy.
Yeah true, Ross County are the Prem's most northern. Would love to visit there one day! Thanks for watching John, much appreciated
Footy Adventures if you do visit Dingwall there’s a weird pub called The Mallard that has a beer garden that’s also.a railway stations platform.
You should do a video on Highland league teams next
For sure!! Will do!
I'm form leeds but live in elgin and have interviewed the owner tatters on my show
Nearly all the new clubs admitted to the league structure since 1970 have been from the Highland League: Inverness Cally and Thistle (combined), Ross County, Elgin City, Peterhead and Cove Rangers. That speaks highly of the Highland League, I think.
Aviemore to Elgin is a great drive. You were further north than Moscow 😮😂
You should visit the other ecfc in Devon. It's got the biggest standing terrace in the football league
Worked at raf lossiemouth in the summer and stayed in elgin, beautiful drive up ther.
I didnt get to go up to the statue that overlooks part of the town if anyone could enlighten me to the back story and who it is cheers
The American actor Glenn Ford believed in reincarnation & through mediums found out he lived in Elgin previously & was a medical person. He visited the place and found his old grave there.
you missed visiting the Findhorn foundation , that would've made for some interesting video.
Hi mate can you find out what club sells best pies someone said the killie pie but don't know about that
I've heard it's killie all the way!
👍Cheers
👍
Go up to Wick football ground and do a video mate I wanna see that 👀😎⚽
Should do a tour of the highland league grounds
That's definitely in the works mate 😊
@@FootyAdventures I've got a few vids up on my channel from bigger aberdeen games and going to Newcastle
@@adamg94 nice I'll check them out 👌
@HeedArmy83 ive always wanted too, I usually just make a day of leaving aberdeen at 8 and going to st James then home again around 10pm
@HeedArmy83 will definitely try when games are allowed fans, I keep updated on Facebook for gateshead games
Is the start of the video in bothwell, south lanarkshire ?
Correct!
Did Inverness Caledonian Thistle get back to you? The chairman now is fantastic and if he knows about your tours I'm sure you could get in and have a blether!
Really rate these videos
Appreciate that thank you very much!
Lol, my home team is Elgin fc, epic
What happened to the ww2 pillbox behind the goal on the grass bank. Surely that was unique.
May be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was removed for health and safety reasons. As people would stand on top of the box to watch the game there was the risk of injury from someone falling off
👍
🙌
@@FootyAdventures 💯
North Isles FC of the Shetland 2nd division is the most northerly football club anywhere in Britain
Isn’t Inverness and Ross County further north?
I understand that Elgin is a place you’ve not visited before and you need a title though
Na mate people think its Inverness and ross county but I promise it is Elgin
Elgin isn't in the Highlands , its in Moray a region next to the Highlands however isn't directly in it . On a semi professional basis it is the most Northern however its not the most northern football league team as that is Wick Academy in the Highland league.
It would be worthwhile covering the travesty that happend in 1993 when they had the league taken away from them.
What about Wick Academy Football Club?
Ross County........followed by my team Sheffield United
What about Ross County they play in the Scottish Premiership and there more northern than Elgin
Hi mate, I looked into it and I believe Elgin is ever so slightly above Ross County. There's not much in it though!
Footy Adventures ah okay, keep up the good work though 👍
its very close Elgin City 57o39'06.65N Ross County 57o35'45.41N which is about 3.5 miles Peterhead is about another 3 miles south. This will change though Brora will probably get into the Scottish League soon though and thats way North. Buckie and Fraserburgh are both north of Elgin and are also possibilities for promotion. Wick Lossiemouth Deveronvale are also North of Elgin.
I'M FROM ELGIN
The most northern football team in Scotland is Thurso FC in the Caledonian League
wick academy is further north
Ross county are further up
Can undo bukie thistle
Hey Luke, I visited Buckie in this video.... :) ua-cam.com/video/z1sek-3Ot38/v-deo.html
The cost for Elgin FC travelling to away matches in L2 must be another financial struggle with no real income
Yeah true, must be tough!
Ross County is further north than Elgin
I looked into it, Elgin is ever so slightly more north!
Brora rangers mate most northern
Ross county are more northern and they play in the top league
Are you English or Scottish?
English, but live in Scotland :)
@@FootyAdventures great I like your work a lot keep going
@@Pantominas497 thanks will do 😊
@@FootyAdventures Born English...but you have now been cured! 😁
@@aidanhegarty2688 Haha! For sure!
Ross county is the most nothern club
The most northernly professional football team in Scotland is not Elgin City. Wick Academy, while in the bottom wrung of pro football is actually the most northern playing in the Scottish Highland Football League just 16 miles shy of John O' Groats.
Ross county is more northern than elgin....
Do a little bit of research and don’t look at a map Elgin is just further North than Dingwall.
Just had a closer look, your right enough, automatically assumed because its across the kessock bridge that its automatically further north. My bad bud!
sorry mate but elgin are the third most northern league team in the uk. inverness caly thistle and a team from a place called Dingwall ross county. please do your homework before you put your blog up thanks
I'd forgot about Ross county but they are still slightly below Elgin's ground by latitude. Elgin is slightly farthest North .
I would have said Ross county myself but I'd be wrong.
Think you should do your homework Elgin is just further north than Dingwall
