@Ciffer-1998 he said something about "concentrating the attack into "small areas"" Don't get me wrong he probably made up the explanation on the spot but given how characters can actually move around their ki based attacks and way later on in DBS can hold power that threatens the universe with every punch and we literally see you know who wait for the other one to get the hang of it and then fights more seriously once the universe isn't under threat of getting destroyed by someone who can't control his own power, it makes sense to me.

King Piccolo powered up a lot when Nappa was just goofing around.
