  • As most of you know, mid to higher milage e36's suffer from 5th gear lean. In this video I will cover how to DIY and fix an issue that BMW has bulletined. You will need the special BMW drift tool set to complete this properly. As far as the seals, you can service those with common tools.     Maybe you can post a pic of all the tools used and the part numbers for the repair kit. 🫡🫡🫡

      You can get the detents on bimmerworld (part# 100.23.536.0003), they also offer an entire seal kit for the 320ZF (part#: ZF-S5D320-SEAL-KIT).
      As for the drift tools there is a bunch of companies that sell them now. Just keep in mind that:
      drift 233110 is for the upper detent bushings,
      drift 232360 is for the zinc caps on the upper detents,
      drift 234023 is for the reverse gear bushing
      drift 234022 is for the 5th gear bushing
      drift 234021 is for the 5th and reverse gear blue caps
