Everything I said about the Digital Monster X applies for the Digimon Pendulum Z as well: they have smaller rosters but evolutions are less linear and leveling up helps you spend more time with your Digimon.
It's such a shame though, for Pendulum Z, I got excited because they included the KaiserGreymon line but then the site says you need to connect to the other two to unlock him which is a bummer for me. I just got Nature Spirits and Virus Busters. Also, worth noting Pendulum gets really expensive after a while so I do recommend always pre-order them.
You said the Pendulum 20th was modded. Is there a language mod because if so do you think its possible to mod another device like the D-Cyber. I ask because even though the D-Cyber is already in English it has odd naming choices because It was Bandai Asia and not Bandai America. E.G. Ouryumon is called Goldramon which is the name of a completely different digimon. I just want to do name fixes if possible.
The mod for English on the Pen20 is only possible due to the names already being programmed into the device, as if Bandai initially wanted to do an English release but changed their minds. Because they left the translations in place, it's possible to simply connect a spot on the board to activate those English names. It's unfortunately not possible to inject names into a device, so other devices do not have this type of capability

I know this video is a bit old now but at 2:58 but the writing is Katana, one of the three Japanese scripts, and the words are エサ (I-Se) which means "bait" and プロテイン (Pu-Ro-Te-I-N) is literally just English word "Protein" written out in Katakana.
LITERALLY what I just did! Bought a WonderSwan years ago for Digimon Ver. WonderSwan and Pocket Fighter and never got around to buying Ver. WonderSwan until just now. Finding one with the connector is a bit pricey but we're makin' dreams come true here! ...and I bought a pile of V-Pets to fight it.

Thanks for making this video, I'm new to Digimon and got an English brown 20th anniversary device just recently. I'm enjoying mine very much so far. It's fairly simple, yet a lot of fun!
Love this vid, can you do one going into more detail talking about the functions of each device and what all there is to do? I'm really interested in the D2, D3, pendulum, and X2. So glad to get back into these
I didn’t even know these were a thing til tonight lol When I was a kid I had the D-3 (Veemon’s digivice) but this is so much cooler with so many other things to do. I bought two 😅
Thanks buddy, I really appreciate the video. My sister was able to get a hold of the Grey and Red 20th Anniversary editions, though I'm really interested in the Pendulum and X's. Kinda new so a little lost and overwhelmed with all the products out there! XD
Man, and now I'm on a high for these... I'll get two of the cheapest ones available, but I wish I could get the others more easily. Oh well, play one thing first and then the other. I was looking for exactly this kind of info, thanks. EDIT: and I'm new to this kind of thing. Let's hope my hype pays off. Or at least gets cooled down once I got this in my hands.
I've been sticking with the English releases, and so far my opinion on the X devices is to only get the ones that have Digimon you want specifically, I'm not a fan of the higher difficulty of the devices, and all the random chance elements and consumable items they throw at you, once I have my favorite mons, I'm probably just going to freeze them for keeps, whereas I've enjoyed the DM20 quite a bit more as it's an easy simple device with lots of Digimon to add to your *album*, you can't pause, but the device is so easy you don't have to, the only downside to the DM20 is when you raise 2 Digimon at once, they just poop way too often, so they'll most likely die of injury from all the poop they've made than any other death condition, but this isn't a problem if you're willing to raise only one Digimon at a time, which works for me because I can have a tombstone that shows how long I've raised my previous mon. I've nearly mastered my 2 DM20 devices (completed album soon, which has taken a while with my *no cruelty* rules I've placed on myself, such as not starving them, and all Digimon must hit their final form, etc, been at it for about 9 months, and I estimate that I have about another month before I complete the album, and maxed out battles at 999, only thing left to do really is raise my mons for 99 days), and I'm considering getting 2 more so I can have up to 4 Digimon each on their own device at once, I love these things so much~ ^-^
i dont understand why people use the "gotta catch em all" tagline from pokemon on digimon, even the show made it a point that a tamer has at most 2 digimon to deal with but only one device per digimon, not one device controls them all, and if people use the cyber sleuth logic on me, they didnt have digivices, just a program that functions the same.
@@Aqsticgod I never did get them all, my new job requires too much of my focus to worry about even 1 v-pet, much less the 5 I ended up getting... I got close though~ :V

Perhaps someone here could help? My friend recently got a grey English ver. 20th, and everything was going fine until she unlocked the second egg. She panicked and messed with a bunch of buttons, and ended up selecting a second Botamon egg. After that, she was afraid of messing up anything else, so she constantly checked in on them and made sure there were absolutely no care mistakes, but her second Koromon became Betamon, and now both of her Digimon are Numemon. According to her, she never lets their hunger and strength drop too low and she always puts them to bed on time. How is it possible for her to end up with two Numemon, without any care mistakes?

I've liked Digimon for a long while now but I first knew about it years ago bc of the anime on Netflix it wasn't till like 2 or 3 years ago that I learned that they have originated as Tomogatchi, I was excited to maybe get one of my own which I have barley now bc I went target and got the 20th version for 5 bucks, I was happy but when I remembered all the other ones I've heard about I realized I wanted to collect but IDK when they might make a new series or a new design and when I go online I see that the Digimon that aren't from the current version are EXTREMELY overpriced by sellers on eBay. I want to get the Digimon x one but they're too expensive can someone tell me where to start so I can collect them, I'll worry abt merch later lmao. Edit: where can I learn about the Digimon I hear people knowing a lot of Digimon do they memorize from playing or is there some anime thing that I should know about?

This video was so increadably helpfull. I used to watch the anime when i was very little but eventually that got replaced with pokemon and became a pokemon boy. So digimon took a backseat. But the last couple years i have really started to be facinated again by the franchise. and i always saw these things pop up here and there. i wanted to buy one but i couldnt figure out which one to get. All these 200+ dollar ones just seemed ridiculus. And every other video just assumes i know what it is, what it does and how it improved on the previeus one. But your vid was increadable. A friend of mine is actually working on a video right now concerning the hacking elements, but he already has a video for changing shells if you are interested. ua-cam.com/video/0akUj9rSNn0/v-deo.html I WAS going to make a video on the hacking portion, but my first attempt went disastrously, lol. I've since become proficient at doing it, so I might make a video at some point.
In the pendulum 20th, u can get a 2nd egg once your 1st get to child lvl. But for example in the dukemon ver. you get the dracomon digitama when you discover 35 digis. Can you have a 3rd digi? Does the 3rd digi only appears once one of the two die? Or how is the system?
The way it works is that there are 10 eggs on each device, but you can only raise 2 at a time. When a Digimon dies, or is absorbed in a Jogress with another Digimon, you can raise a new egg, by picking any that are available. After your first Digimon reaches the Child level, you will get to pick another egg to raise alongside it, and as you play with the device, you will unlock more eggs to choose from.
That one specifically is the Digital Monster X, which had features introduced by the 20th anniversary devices, but was also based on concepts found in the Pendulum X. While it pulls ideas from those device, it itself is an entirely new device, and not an anniversary release.
Excuse me good sir. I see you have a 15th anniversary digivice... could you also show the power levels of the digivice like you did with the v-pets? the digivice 15th anniversary was my first digimon and I would be very excited pls
When I bought my d3 in 2000 it’s was 20-30 brand new. The tech is so outdated we literally pay out the butt for no reason other than artificial supply. Shortages. We need a new age vpet. Mix digimon and Megan battle network. Being able to use nfc, accelerometer, pother peripherals we could make a digivice that can do more than the vital bracelet for cheaper.
Depending on which one you have you can either freeze your digimon (the pendulum) or either have them nap (gives you three hours) or if you’re gonna be away for a while you can change the clock so their “bed time” is three hours away then put them down for a nap so you’ll get about 11 hours of not needing to care for them (on the 20th)
Generally speaking, they start dropping hearts faster after they've reached the evolution window. You can keep them alive indefinitely at this point, but it's hard! You have to really stay on top of them.
@@humulomon Also, i've heard conflicting reports that having your DigiMons consume Vitamins over Training will shorten its lifespan or even reduce its Battle competency and efficiency? How true is that theory when it involves the DigiMon Version 20ths?
@@fabianwilliams998 As far as I've been able to tell, I haven't seen anything that indicates that vitamins are worse than training, other than the fact that they increase weight. If a Digimon is 99 G, it is more likely to get injured as it is weaker at that weight, but that's the only ill effect I see. I haven't tested it SUPER thoroughly, but my Digimon always seem to start dying at the same time regardless of whether they've been given pills or trained their whole lives.
Hey I have a d3 Digivice which I loved but it has stopped counting steps, I think the shaker part must be broken it feels super loose, is there anyway to fix this :(?
Hard to say, there's a few things that could cause that, including parts becoming loose from the board to the part just failing. Unfortunately I don't have any experiencing opening up the D3, so I can't really offer any advice.
I remember in the 90s for the first Digimon models released you can do some type of cheat to have your Digimon go immediately to its final form. Is that still a thing for these current versions these days?
Not that anyone has seen. Tab-cheating can be used to access debug mode on some devices, but it's far more reliable to solder the internal connections instead.
@@humulomon damn I feel old, yeah I forgot how you do it cuz it's been decades but it was very simple, didn't need to open up the device or anything. Just hold some buttons and I think the reset button.
Yep! I've been wanting an original one to go with my 20th anniversary ones (and now X version) but they're so expensive! My brother messaged me the other day and said he has both our old ones and is sending me one! 😃 Gonna make some good content with it!
All of the ones recommended in this video are a lot of fun all on their own! In order to reach certain evolutions you WILL need to battle, but there are preprogrammed battles on the devices themselves, so no connection is necessary. As a heads up though, there are some Digimon that can only be unlocked via connecting to other specific devices, but you can get the large majority of Digimon on each device without any connections.
I'm looking at the version exclusive website you sent me... why is agumon greymon metal line version exclusive but also included in the all versions section?
Believe it or not, there are two different varieties of each of those Digimon. The main variety is found on all devices, but the variety based on the anime (Taichi's Agumon) is only on version A devices.
Yep! Go to digitamahatchery.com and click on the Versions and Exclusives page for each device type, that will show you exactly which Digimon are in each version
Hello there, been watching your videos for a while! I have a question, how do you take care of your Dvices? Did you clean it with something special, etc. Just bought both Xv2 and i want to use them without deteriorating the Dvice. Maybe im a little crazy, but you know :p
Personally I use Isopropyl Alcohol with some swabs (not Qtips, the strands fall off too easy) to take care my devices. I also ensure they are stored in individual small plastic tool drawers when not in use, and when in use I keep them secured in an electronics organizer in my bag, or in a headphone case in my pocket, to ensure they don't get dinged up in any way.
I've started to test the waters with retromon and dgmonsters on my android phone. I like them a lot, especially the online battling in retromon, and the scannerz battle mode on dgmonsters. I'm considering getting a physical digivice, cause I want that in my hands feel, but I'm hesitant to get one cause I'm not sure what kind of replay value they have. Is there any randomness to battling? I read that they're something called a D-com, but you have to build it yourself in order to play with people online (sounds complicated). How long does it take to complete everything on a digivice? Does it have months of content?
Battling is mostly random, with the specific Digimon you use mattering most, and these days a D-Com only takes very few parts to build, you can buy a prebuilt one (watch this video and check its description for details: ua-cam.com/video/kIzsHfoQwYY/v-deo.html). Replayability on a V-Pet is basically limitless, because the draw of a V-Pet is just having it as a companion device to check throughout the day. Some people like to try raising every Digimon on a device, which takes months to do, but a lot of us just keep raising them simply for the sake of raising them, even on devices with more limited rosters like the originals. If a completed roster is your goal, plan for at least 3 months.
@@humulomon @humulomon Thank you for replying so quickly! I have a bias towards cute, beast, and machine Digimon so I probably won't want to complete the roster. Mainly just find a "partner" Digimon and go through as many new encounters as I can with them. I'll definitely check out that link. One last thing to ask is do you know it they'll make any v-pet featuring the Digimon from Survive? I was super stoked to see Syakomon, Kunemon, Labramon and Floramon in the trailer.
@@enixfire Most of those Digimon actually premiered in V-Pets! Syakomon and Floramon are from the Digimon Pendulum series, and are therefore on the Pendulum Ver.20th as well, while Kunemon is from the original Ver.3, so it is also on the Digital Monster Ver.20th. Labramon is available on the Digimon Pendulum Z Nightmare Soldiers.
I have the 20th anniversary in transparent Orange and a original red one from 1997. They both have version 1 on them. So what colors has the later version eggs? I want version 3 or later eggs.
Most of the eggs in the devices are identical, but each device has one egg specific to it that contains a few Digimon not on other devices. You can see which ones are on which color here: humulos.com/digimon/dm20/exclusives/
my only question is, why would you need to raise so many digimon? i dont think "how many digimon you can have" was ever part of the tagline, i feel perfectly happy just having 1, but every video ive seen makes it a point that "you have have this many digimon, and to have them all u need to get all the devices" like bruh, this isnt pokemon, you dont have to catch them all or own them all, and yeah, i dont think for a v-pet that should be a point to hammer on. but thats me.
i am thinking of getting the translucent green vpet or the pendelum; the pendelum is bit expensive and I like the cheap entry onthe translucent green, and the english language. What would you say?
If you don't have any yet, definitely go with the translucent green, since it's the cheapest way to try out V-Pets while still having a lot of good features
@@humulomon thank you! and I if I udnerstood it correctly, I can battle with the translucent green one other vpets? Should I also get the yellow one? ohh and more question, if its okay: I am mainly looking for a vpet that has herculekabuterimon in it, but it seems like only the very ooold ones have him. i am just looking for a good vpet with lots of things to do within it :D and if there is hercule...win :D Thank you so much, yo ureally helped me out!
The green device can battle with any other device released in the past 4 years, as well as the original Digital Monster devices. As for another device, I would recommend any Version A or B device so that you can unlock DORUmon on both of them. HerculesKabuterimon is available on old devices, but also on the Digimon Pendulum Ver.20th, both the Silver Black and Beelzebumon Colors, but those can both be pretty expensive.
So as a first time buyer who loves the Guilmon line, which one should I get between the ver. 20th and the ver. X ? I've noticed that the Red on Black edition of the ver. X seems to be the most popular but I find myself completely lost trying to figure out which device to get and I'm starting to get frustrated.
@@humulomon I guess I'll stick with the DMX as the smaller selection shouldn't be too big a problem since the favorites seem to be included. I wonder whether the one coming out in the West next month is the DMX ver. 1 or ver. 2.

Hi! i've recently bought the 20th anniversary digivice and it's bringing back really good memories for me!. Question though, is there a list of all the english digivices? I was thinking of collecting them but i'm not too sure if I would be able to play the japanese language version since i don't understand japanese. Thanks!
Both the Pendulum Ver.20th and Digital Monster X series are MOSTLY in English, apart from the names of the Digimon, so you do not have to know Japanese to use them. Even for the devices that are mostly in Japanese, it's perfectly possible to get everything out of them just by memorizing what each selection does. If you do want English only, there just aren't that many unfortunately, as apart from the English DM20, only the original two versions of the Digital Monster pet series were ever released in North America. Some were also released in English in South East Asia and Australia that were fully English, but those can be difficult to find AND expensive, so I'd recommend sticking with the Japanese devices overall.
@@humulos I see, that's unfortunate. In terms of "rpg-ness" which current v-pet would you recommend? I remember having the d3 version and that was fun! (shaking the device to simulate walking and encountering random digimons to fight)
@@TheArcaneMageLord have you considered looking into an acom or a dcom for unlocking
@@EnterNameHere22 Well, Pendulum Z is not out yet but I guess I will try that once it comes. Thank you!
It's insane how much these things go for, considering the tech inside them.

Used to have a couple d-3s and a d-terminal myself. Unfortunately they have since gotten lost in storage.
I know this video is a bit old now but at 2:58 but the writing is Katana, one of the three Japanese scripts, and the words are エサ (I-Se) which means "bait" and プロテイン (Pu-Ro-Te-I-N) is literally just English word "Protein" written out in Katakana.

I thought the digimon accel was a myth, a legend, something to be spoken of in hushed tones so as not to be called a fool
I have that same accel. I wish I got more at the time :(
I lost my accel years ago. After the pendulum X, which I also lost in the box with it, it was one of my favorite digimon v-pets. . . 😢
Good video man! I remember these from in the early 2000s and I just got the ver.20 to relive my child hood lol
I just got my glow in the dark 3rd series and I’m so shocked by how much I forgot I loved my fighters ones that I had before digimon and then absolutely went digimon and tomogatchi crazy, I’m about to again because the GameStop near me just put a bunch of the different waves and some Japanese digimon on a clearance and sale on top of that I’m sweeping them clean and getting one of each color from each wave and a few Japanese ones, as well as two different tomogatchis they have including a demon slayer Japanese one.
Thanks for making this video, I'm new to Digimon and got an English brown 20th anniversary device just recently. I'm enjoying mine very much so far. It's fairly simple, yet a lot of fun!

Care mistakes are indeed the only way to get Numemon, so there could just be something that she isn't noticing occurring.
@@humulomon I see. Thank you for responding.
She has gone over all possible care mistakes, and eliminated all of the possibilities. However, she is starting to believe that she might be blocking out memories of herself making mistakes. She says she "can't trust her own mind". ^^;

I'm not certain of how importing works exactly, but I know some folks in Europe have had success with just using Amazon. Try this link and see if that works for you, otherwise reseller sites like eBay may be your best bet:

Also, sorry if this is a stupid question but if the battery runs out , will you be able to continue the same playthrough or is there a data reset once you get another battery?
The battery lasts for several months at a time for me. If it does die, your progress is saved, so nothing to worry about there.

Why not 20th?
Why can't they just release an App?
Only reason I have em memorized is from years of playing with the pets, looking at the trading cards and watching the shows. WIkimon is a great place to spend a few hours if you really wanna fall down a rabbit hole, check out the visual list of Digimon there.
Now i feel like i at least know enough to buy one and start my slow intergration back into digimon. So thank you :D
I just bought a 20th edition for me and my kid. I got lucky and saw them at a local big5. She choose the yellow I choose the grey one. I'm hoping to find a DigimonX

Me in 2010: Which digivice *CAN* I buy...?
Me in 2020: i can still buy a digivice? Where?
@@aceundead4750 u can pre order for the digivice complete ver in premium Bandai
Do a collecting guide on the digivices
@@humulomon Ooohhh now i get it, thanks a lot!!!
9:15 Is the wave 2 devices the translucent colors?
All 4 versions of the Pendulum Ver.20th are opaque, no translucents in that series
Is the one you’re talking about at 11:00 the 20th anniversary one?
That one specifically is the Digital Monster X, which had features introduced by the 20th anniversary devices, but was also based on concepts found in the Pendulum X. While it pulls ideas from those device, it itself is an entirely new device, and not an anniversary release.
Excuse me good sir. I see you have a 15th anniversary digivice... could you also show the power levels of the digivice like you did with the v-pets? the digivice 15th anniversary was my first digimon and I would be very excited pls
So why are these digimon locked in a dungeon, complete with bricks, bars and a lock? Doesn't feel "pet"-like
In Asia, that's how we traditionally treat our pets hahahaha
they are around 30 euros in the netherlands atm also... almost same as 30 us dollars
I received one as a gift and I love it but it demands too much attention 🙃 every two days the digimon dies. 🤷🏻♂️
How long do Perfect Level DigiMons live if they fail to meet their Ultimate Level Digivolution requirements?

Sonic Mania Music? Respect

Are there other devices other than version 20th's that you can connect to your main ver 20th in order to unlock the secret exclusive egg?
What if you just want one because you want a virtual pet. I do want to battle but I dont think anyone around me has one tho.
Is there a chart or some other sort of breakdown showing which devices have which roster?
@@humulomon Thank you very much for this advices, im going to follow them from now on!
All colors of the Ver.20th have original 5 versions included
@@humulomon Thanks
@@humulomon Why are the other reviews on the 20th edition people are saying different colors will have different eggs on them?
What is wave 1 and wave 2 and what is the difference and which do you recommend getting one? And others if you recommend anything or have any info.
Different color devices have different Digimon on them. You can see which ones have which Digimon here: humulos.com/digimon/dm20/exclusives/
Ik this is 3 years old but can you give me your preference between the Ver.15 of the og digivice or the ver. Complete?
I would generally recommend the Complete, because it has the most content, but the 15th is still a great option too.
i am thinking of getting the translucent green vpet or the pendelum; the pendelum is bit expensive and I like the cheap entry onthe translucent green, and the english language.
They are pretty different devices, so just ask yourself which you want more: more Digimon to raise (DM20) or more interesting raising mechanics (DMX).
@@humulomon I guess I'll stick with the DMX as the smaller selection shouldn't be too big a problem since the favorites seem to be included. I wonder whether the one coming out in the West next month is the DMX ver. 1 or ver. 2.
@@enzo991_ Ver.1, or more accurately, versions XA and XB. You can see specifically which shell contains which Digimon here: humulos.com/digimon/dmx/exclusives/
Hi! i've recently bought the 20th anniversary digivice and it's bringing back really good memories for me!.
Digital Monster X for sure! It actually has leveling up and quest mode offers a lot more rewards.
