Basically all tackles are illegal
I cringe whenever I see people like you begging for subscribers.
you seem so desperate...
Nonu was so much more than a hard hitter, he had great hands, great vision, and could even step.
Agree
His passing game was amazing aswell
@@Jordan-mq4wj that’s what I meant by hands.
@@therugbyfanatic3379 my bad lol
@@Jordan-mq4wj no problem m8😉👌
His passing improved dramatically over the years, speed maintained & strength remains high to this day. One of few who went back to back at a World Cup, play professionally in 4 continents, play 100 tests for All Blacks & 2nd all time Super Rugby tries scored. Known worldwide mentioned alongside McCaw & Carter……. Unlikely to find another.
Right on. Me personally I hold Carter and McCaw on higher level. Carter the GOAT
@@pjpomare3598 Nonu goes down as the ABs greatest 12…from the begging of his career where his passing, kicking and vision wasn’t there to being the most all round 12 to ever lace the boots
@@michaelkonelio7452 nonu the goat no.12, the best to ever play inside centre
Outside NZ, have you ever heard about Yannick Jauzion?
the fact that he was an All Black International but took no mercy on other All Blacks when he was playing club rugby really make him the real deal. when it came to play either you were on his side or not, it's that simple black and white. Ma'a Nonu legend.
✔
bro hes not knocking down average rugby players, hes knocking down legends and greats at the game
shrugged off manu tuilagi like he's nothing, and manu is the closest thing to ma'a going.
@@alexferentinos yeah right
That is the title mate
@@RoyJones. clearly haven't seen highlights of Manu's game.
Greatest number 12 ever 🐐. I was actually at that Blues game vs the Force where he made that massive hit and I met him. I was totally starstruck as he is my favorite rugby player of all time.
Could you hear the hit from the stands?
Most teams have to choose a crash ball or playmaker inside center, this man was the best at both at his peak.
I was lucky enough to bump into the all blacks at Christchurch airport on my way to Sydney where they were headed too for the Tri-nations. I met Rodney So'oialo, Ali Williams, Dan Carter. All pretty big guys.
I met Nonu. He wasn,'t the tallest AB and I am a big guy (6ft 15 stone at the time). This guy is fucking huge. Just built different. Out of every one of the ABs I saw the one that put would have put the fear of God in me as a rugby player is Nonu. He was just built differently. Looked like he was made of breeze blocks.
This guy can play in the NFL as full back , running back , safety, linebacker, free safety and maybe even corner back
2019, he was back in NZ for the Blues. Huge mistake by the AB's selectors not to include him in the World Cup squad.
* No one has ever filled that #12 jersey for the AB's when he left.
#Nonu
#RESPECT
Agree
Yeap the year he sat down ANTON LENIERT BROWN "sit down son" ..Nonu made a statement that game
Ain't that the truth
Laumape was the closest thing we've had to Nonu since and the AB selectors made the brilliant decsions to let him go...
Damn, not many fellas can say they’ve bowled over Manu Tuilagi and Julian Savea!!
Can imagine being a defender and you see this guy running straight towards you🤕🥴
Absolute Legend Ma'a Nonu
Should’ve been in the 2019 World Cup team tbh
Great player. I'm not sure he ever peaked for the ABs. Just got better and better. Scored the real game clinching try in the '15 WC final in his last game using his speed
4:22 the split second that he had to see him before he got leveled 🤣
This was great, easily my favourite all black and player
❤️❤️
Ohooo sole! That's it uce, you just destroyed whoever you run 2, even ur captain you just flick him like a ps of plastic. The best is the best and will always the best player. I always look up on this guy, he is one of those top player that you always wanna watch his game. I know he's playing overseas. I thought Tuisova and Tuilagi was a tough but, I'll tell you why this guy is more tougher than Tuisova and Tuilagi. If u see Tuisova or Tuilagi hit the player, the player got up again and still playing. Ok let's take a gud look on the uce, every guy he run over they just lying there, we'll, I don't think those guys a still breathing. Here you go champion, we miss you uce, I salute you. God bless.
3:20 no idea what he on about.. Nonu had a kicking game
Nonu is the real beast in rugby 🔥🔥🔥💪🏿🏉
Eben Etzebeth (who is notorious for his stubbornness and never admitting when he’s been bested) openly admits that Ma’a is the strongest tackler he’s ever gone up against
I saw the interview where Eben said that, would love to see the tackle he was talking about!
1:52 THE LOOK ON FEKITOA'S FACE
another powerhouse just acknowledging the pain it must feel to be tackled by Nonu. What a statement
Don't forget that famous attempt to plant Lion O'Driscoll into the ground by head first. Great play and great refereing on that old day.
Absolute unit. His combination with Conrad Smith is rivalled by very few.
*none
Big boy running through contact. He was special
Ma'a Nonu the Best 12 in the world,as he grew with experience his kicking, catching, passing game, all came together with awesome, agility, strength, and speed ,He played with many great inside and outside backs, played for the best rugby team in the World,A couple of great super rugby teams,I loved watching him smash guys through out his rugby years,Thank Bro Ma'a
Yer hes great remember tana puttin on few good shots last year of him playin nz. Bro the whistle whent. Then c tackle was fine. Nonu. Love em'
He also had a pretty good kicking game too. Didn't need to use it too much, but it was more than just a hack. He could make clearing touch-finders, tactical kicks to turn the opposition and grubbers for his wingers and fullbacks to chase.
Plenty of these hits wouldn't survive the yellow/red framework these days.
Even some of this back then was a red card, especially on Cowan. Late, high, shoulder charge, to the head. Nowadays it will be banned for 6 weeks I guess.
Agreed
Yep. Liability. 50% of these hits were dodgy af.
Nonu had the perfect build for center.
0:49 il a balayé son capitaine 😂😂
We need a Ranger x Nonu video 🔥
holy crap this guy has me juiced!
Ma'a Nonu💪
Can't imagine what it's like to be hit with that power and speed.
He lives up to his name ma'a (rock) nonu.
Ma'a was a beast!!
Simply the Best 12. Ever chur
He Reminds Me of Jonah Lomu 🔥just a total beast
In rugby 05 he was a tackle breaker he breaks tackle same as rugby 08 and rugby challenge
My favourite rugby player of all time.
Beast
I felt like I've watched this video before... Is this the one where it's originally titled 'Biggest Thugs' or something along that line? Deja vu bro @_@
yeap bro we had to reupload
@@GGRUGBY Aight appreciate the reupload man.
@@Qulize ❤️
Best no 12 in the world💪
he is one of the worst tacklers in international rugby.he doesnt use arms to tackle ,its either a shoulder to anything or a forearm,he just doesnt tackle properly Because he plays for NewZealand he just gets away with it.Hard tackles are a wonderful part of the game ,when used fairly not just using power to smash into people .This is just my opinion.
😂Naholo threw a forward pass!
I never feared him, because I never had to face him.
I. Met maa b4 he was a hurricane or all black. Humble guy. Really nice. His dad used to drink at the pub i was dj at in wellington. Theman!
people often compared laumape to nonu, but the reality is he didn't have the complete skill package like nonu. Nonu hits hard, makes tackles, makes breaks, makes metres, makes passes, makes steps. Far out i miss watchin him play in his prime
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Nonu is different level
They didn’t give Lumape a chance to develop and grow. Nonu took years to become an all rounder…kicking and passing you can develop, the raw power, speed and aggression you can’t teach…it’s god given talent. Lumape was the closest thing the ABs had to Nonu but decided to let him leave NZ.
@@michaelkonelio7452 lumape thought he was the next nonu but never showed he wanted to become it. His ego stopped him
@@DakkaDakkaDakkaWaagh Lumape never said he was the next Nonu lol like I said, Nonu was given time in the ABs to develop…Lumape was disrespected when NZ decided to leave him out the WC squad when he was the leading try scorer in super rugby and the inform 12. Have a look at the ABs now, struggling in the midfield with no one who can actually punch the line and draw defenders to create gaps on the outside…hence one of the reasons why the ABs were knocked out the WC lol to this day we still don’t have a solid 12
he is monster
couply bad n reckless ones in there especially tht JimmyCowan.. bt he ws a Beast!! Nonu put fear into oposition . no midfeilder had his type of presence
King of the leading shoulder
should do one with Sione LAuaki taking names
Richie McCaw🤣😂
Lots of shoulder charges, no hands. In modern day rugby he'd be off the field more often than not.
he shoudlve been off the park even then for those hits. barely 3 legal tackles in the whole video lmao
Yeah, most he hit them hard but they hit the ground before he wrap his arms
That man goes to my church he’s the nicest guy ever and a serious legend at the sport
Ae? What church
Would help if he used his arms in these tackles?
At 4:33 it’s lights out and away ma’nonu gos into the 22 or tonight Matthew I’m going to be seeing stars courtesy of nonu Two references Formula One in the first one and a classic TV programme stars in the rise for people who don’t know LOL
BUFAAAA
Good defense in XIII rugby. Powerful shoulder charges. Shame it was supposed to be XV rugby.
Don't forget that famous attempt to plant Lion O'Driscoll into the ground by head first. Great play and great refereing on that old day.
Did ya boy ever try to wrap his arms?
Yes when he smashed kolbe 😂
2番目に吹っ飛ばしたの同じオールブラックスのリッチーじゃない?笑
Where's that guy that pass to Savea now?? 1:00
Come on,nearly every tackle a shoulder charge, with a last second wrap.
He was the messiah 🙏🙏🙏MJN Amen
Dont forget nonu took down manu tuilagi 1on1
8:16 Joe Rogan is than you?
Im here
welcome brother
I learnt something there ,hit above the waist ,not the hips
You guys you know that Ma'a Nonu is my cousin 😃
4:45 is normal in rugby. Ma'a got the ball, the opponent ran towards him, ma'a actually see him as a normal human being instead of let it be, we react to it.
It's normal. And you don't run at high speed towards a man unprepared.
The right way is instead of running he need to grab ma'a legs. Not running at full speed unprepared against a big man.
*Ma'a in Samoan means Rock. When batteries were invented, it was called ma'a in Samoan. Seems like Ma'a Nonu is not only a Rock on the field, he was also Electricity! But it hasn't been shown on here that the only other player who withstood the onslaught of the Electrified Rock on the field, and even got the legendary Nonu taken off the field dazed. That ex-AB and Canterbury midfielder, also a Samoan, was Casey Laulala - a much slimmer and hard midfielder on his own right!!*
I'm not saying nonu wasnt a great player, got so good over the years, beating legends of the game, but his tackling lacked wrapping, was often high and dangerous
That's why rugby is losing fans. Too soft. Before talking about concussions blah blah what about boxing? They know the risk
@@ChrisEAdlay yup, lets promote CTE.
@@Mersty. nah promote hard men they get paid enough
@@ChrisEAdlay Paid enough? Research Jamie Cudmore.
Best 2nd five ever
Great player but his tackling? Shouldve played leauge. My fave ab centre is Umaga.
Pretty much all at least yellows in todays game
Forgot how much of a thug he was
You must have been the untalented loudest mouth on the stand!!!
No difference with the big Tuilagi playing for Samoa; but Tuilagi was penalized all the time.
Most of these are illegal
No way. Thats when rugby was a mans game lol
Not illegal back then 😂
@@georgetelea6927 no arms tackles have always been illegal
@@thomasclark6642 not in my day lol. It was a HARD game back then. You even get ruckd in the face lol😉
@@georgetelea6927 yeah okay mate, thats why we seen how many cards??think your have been hit to hard in the tackle
Never used his arms in his live on defense!!! Kingi Hitter!!
true
3 good tackles. H M penalties?
Late tackle
Always happens with Trucks running at top speed and the brakes aren't able to stop it on time!
About 90 percent of these would have been a card today, and 70 percent would have been reds
Fulla can step run all that.
Sit down son
Lol at the French player flopping. Typical.
Plenty of illegal no arms tackles in this. Would be looking at a minimum of a yellow card nowadays!
That's why rugby is so boring
Nonu was a fantastic player, but 50% of those tackles are illegal and a yellow as a minimum.
Don't use your shoulder use your arms GTFOH
He is not grabbing properly, in Rugby Union this is a fault, he is pushing and not going to the ground with the tackled player. Don't think that great. However, he was one of the best quarters AB had.
Manu Samoa RWC 2023? Now that IRB has open its rules for 3 years stand down to play for parents nor Grandparents Island Country of Origin...
No... he would be in his 40s by 2023. He had a chance to play for Samoa at the 2019 World Cup, which he did express interest.
Mostly all illegal tackling not a player to be looked up upon
Nah Nonu is the GOAT
Hes the best in history
Wimp
Nope, your opinion is yours but it is wrong
目立つほど、デカイわけじゃない。
彼とレンジャーは良く分からん…
Botia took him down
Got owned by Tuisova
Easy on the whiskey I saw that game it was a head on collision was not owned but it’s part of the game. Pasefika rugby fuamiki.
Yeah an old Nonu, retiring in Europe. Tuisova is a best but would get found out bad playing super rugby.
Beaucoup de placages irréguliers, sans les bras , juste à l'épaule...
every hit almost looks illegal...
Dan carter is so tough he got smash by george smith with a big hit and got up like nothing ever happened
外見プレースタイル共に目を引くが模範的な選手ではないな
年取るまではあまりディフェンスをしなかったしそもそもしっかりバインドしてない
そして顔がデカイ
His just a banger, only tackles about one percent of the time. A type of guy that gives the game a bad name ☹️
Tackles kak 😂. Tbh
The Music and constant pop ups were annoying and ruined the Ma’a nonu clip !
Most of these hits are illegal 🤷♂️
Not true
Which of these were illegal besides the ones they said were illegal?
@ROCK SOLID maybe uve got a brain injury from ur playing days then pal
How do you know this?
