2023 Subaru Ascent | Should This be Your Next 3-row SUV?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 чер 2024
- The Ascent debuted for the 2019 model year, finally giving the small Japanese automaker a real 3-row SUV. I tested a lower trim level when it launchd and declared it a serious contender to the Toyota Highlander and Pilot. But time waits for no one and it can be particularly cruel in this frenetic industry.
MSRP as-tested: $47,520

Hi Steve! Great channel...love the way you review the cars. I had to laugh when you said this Ascent is "ghastly" looking...you must then have used worse words for the last several years of the Lexus "big mouth grill" years...those cars were beyond ghastly!!! Down-right Ugly!! I think you're right, though...the typical Subaru buyer will like the look of this one. I kind of like it...but then again, I just bought a new Honda CRV! It's looks raises eyebrows, too! Thanks for all your video's!!
Steve don’t get me wrong I love your reviews but I’m sick of SUV and Crossover reviews. It’s sad that’s what Americans want. Wish more cars would make a comeback 😢
I think that's wishful thinking.
Sedans make zero sense if you breakdown every aspect of a vehicle. You know that.
Great review as always Steve! Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Hello there!
looks like a mighty morphin power ranger megazord
great review that is a safety hazard if you can't downshift ratios for better engine braking
did you dry down shifting the speeds?
awesome review 21 mpg good but not 28 what i got in my 93 1.8 subaru loyale 5 speed 4wd not awd
That infotainment screen is a crime against humanity.
When is Subaru going to give up on that CVT?
I am guessing when they drop ICE.
@@gregkramer5588thanks 😅😅😊😊😊
I just realised, we don't get the Ascent in Australia. Is this like a modern Tribeca?
Yes, sir!
The closest thing to a Wilderness edition in a Subaru Ascent.
I bet they come out with a Wilderness version. Makes sense.
Yea, it’s ugly. Thank you for being honest. I love you channel and I keep coming back for your quality running footage, broad range of vehicle, reviews, and your sense of humor.
Thanks!!
I don't think it's ugly at all but to each his own.
Subaru needs a refresh. This isn't a bad car but the newer Grand Highlander, Pilot, CX-90, Palisade, and Telluride are all nicer.
With nearness in features and the overall similarities in this class of vehicles why would anyone chose one with a CVT.
When you look at the competition especially the Kings(Palisade and Telluride) this thing looks dated.
I actually chose the Ascent over the new Honda Pilot because the Honda, imo, was overpriced for what you got.
To be fair, they're both insanely overpriced.
@@cw4623 . I agree in the grand scheme of things.
I'll choose it only if that ugly big screen being replaced with knobs and buttons.
Once you go Onyx, You never go back." LMAO!!!!! Steve, Ya always gotta keep it fresh!!
The interior is definitely dated. I do however like the exterior, especially in that color.. I am holding out for a Forester Turbo. One can only dream lol
Until then? our 2020 STI will have to do.
I paused and ended the video when you said 3 row. The auto industry is basically only building suvs for people who got creampied and not people who want cargo capacity for their adventures.
I think it goes up to 86 cubic feet. Do you need more than that?
