683 Rubles per day for public transport in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia that is the cost for someone not on welfare, or over age 65. I use Public transportation daily, trams and trains although we have a wide system are unreliable and extremely over crowded. Fare covers buses too, but I don’t really use buses. Our new stations here are largely ugly looking and cheaply built. and On public transportation you usually always encounter drug addicts, beggars and drunks. As a female sometimes I am frightened. Australia like the UK has very relaxed laws on drug addiction and dealing so in the city you see drug addicts everywhere and open drug dealing. On public transportation people leave all their rubbish and it’s frequently dirty. I would feel much safer on Russian public transportation by the looks of things. Also, Russian trains are high tech and modern whereas our although newish are very basic.
