Bet he’d recognize the covers though! My husband doesn’t know Outlander if you mention it, but knows “that series with the red book in the middle that you love!” Men!
"people subscribe to you to look at a spreadsheet?!" Yes, yes we sure do Rob 🤭 ok it's more than that, but we book nerds do love our lists and stats too okay 😂
OMG!!! So happy to be included in the video. The fact that Hunger Games would’ve been my top read except that it was my last book of ‘23 so I didn’t count it in my ‘24 favorites. 4:40 Also, Rob picked the only one of the Cynthia Murphy books I haven’t read yet. I knew my list would throw them off.
Kayla that purple colour is absolutely stunning on you! It goes so nicely with your hair and eyes 💜 I have been loving this series and getting lots of recs from it :)
would love to see you do a video on books that include frogs in some way like the series you did with dinosaurs, sharks, etc! I absolutely love frogs and seeing "Green Frog" in this video sparked the idea. its really hard to find good frog-related books when all that comes up when you search is childrens books and reference books
It would be so fun if you recommended books based on peoples’ complete best of the year or all time lists! Just listening to your commentary is so fun!
You picked meeeee and I'm so excited about it omg! AND you got a point 😭 I did love Evelyn Hugo but years ago and I read both Blue Sisters and The Tainted Cup this year and didn't really love either of them so good job not putting those on the list lolol I'll have to look into You, Again!
Got so excited to see another of these videos! It's been one of my favorite little series to watch and I occasionally go dig through the spreadsheet for recommendations
I’m so excited for these series. I’m so happy you adjusted the points because you sometimes were so close and didn’t give yourself .5. This is so much fun to watch lol
Eeeek! I was so surprised when my list appeared in this video! Thanks for picking it! It's funny because when I filled out your spreadsheet last year, I had a lot more variation in genre but this year all my most successful reads were sci fi (I think escapism is feeling v helpful lately!) You were so close to guessing right with Psalm for the Wild-Built! I do intend to read all of Nnedi Okorafor's backlist so Remote Control was also a great guess and I did also read Sea of Tranquility this year! Thanks for these videos - they're so much fun to watch
One thing I learned with this series is how beloved Nothing to see here is nowadays. Back when I read it in 2020 nobody knew it or understood the appeal and now, a few years later people are loving that book.
I did look at the spreadsheet to see if I could find some recs by those who read similarly to me! ^RE Rob’s question/statement if anyone subscribes to look at spreadsheets lol
I’m playing along for the third time!! My guesses 1. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab, The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow, or The Midnight Library by Matt Haig 2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins 3. A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams, or Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin 4. The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston, Somewhere Beyond The Sea by TJ Klune, or The Midnight Library by Matt Haig 5. Chlorine by Jade Song, The Last Tale of the Flower Bride by Roshani Chokshi, or Annimal by Lisa Taddeo 6. Bunny by Mona Awad 7. Bride by Ali Hazelwood, Not in Love by Ai Hazelwood, or From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata 8. The Country William Bring Us No Peace by Matthieu Simard, or A Pslam for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers 9. That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming 10. Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett, or The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston 11. On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong, or Minor Detail by Adania Shibli 12. Lovelight Farms by B.K Borison, or You Should Be So Lucky by Cat Sebastian 13. The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa 14. Any Brandon Sanderson 15. Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer, or A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock
This is so random, but I'm a new viewer and you remind me so much of Katherine Ryan, the comedian. Both the way you look and some of the way you talk. (Are you Canadian?) This is a total complement as I love her and think she's hilarious! Also, The Laurie from The Icing Artist! Love the video!! ❤
Omg not me being jump scared by my own top 10 at the beginning 😂 Rob's comments are amazing. Loved this video series and honored to be part of it, I can't wait for the new ones!! (And Haunting of Velkwood was my first read of 2025 and I loved it actually, so you weren't wrong lol)
I am chuckling at your guesses for me 💀 In case you're interested, I hated Kiss Her Once For Me and Make the Season Bright was a 5⭐ but in hindsight that was probably overly generous. Lore and Lust is weirdly not super smutty, it is quite a slow burn which reads like a regency romance with lots of yearning and then a bit of spice towards the end. Thank you so much for doing these videos, I love watching you roast and guess 😂
Fun about the continuation!!! I didn’t participate in this one bc I had a bad reading year but an all time one sounds so fun I hope I get picked eventually 🙂
Oh there is NO WAY you’d figure out my all-time favorite book based on what ranks below it. I’m so in. (I do wish you’d gotten to do mine this round because you would have appreciated the freakishly coherent color scheme.)
It’s my birthday🎁I love having a Kayla video for my birthday and I’ve been enjoying this little mini series of guessing favourite books 📚 it’s so fun to see people’s reading tastes and how unexpected some of them can be 💓 my favourites this year were Magnolia Parks into the Dark , Vera Wong, Dallergut Dream Department store, Blue sisters and the poppy war 💙🐉
Can't wait for the spin-off where you eat your shorts hahaha just kidding this was SUCH a fun one!! I submitted mine late because I overthink everything, but YOU BET I will be faster with my all time favorites
Ive gotten so used to finishing my day with a new Kayla video this past week and realizing that Falalalalalala is about to end breaks my heart😢
Saaaame. What am I gonna do in the evenings? (Should probably read all these books I’ve added to my tbr lmao)
@@Sharletwitchlol yeah! I literally put down a book to watch😅 Should get to reading!
Rob not knowing of the Wayward Children series while also being married to you is hysterical 😭
I'm not even married to @booksandlala and read the series because of her!
Bet he’d recognize the covers though! My husband doesn’t know Outlander if you mention it, but knows “that series with the red book in the middle that you love!” Men!
the little women plot twist got us all cautious and suspicious LMAO
love when you just start freestyling a backstory for each of these people hahaha really digging into their psyche
"people subscribe to you to look at a spreadsheet?!"
Yes, yes we sure do Rob 🤭
ok it's more than that, but we book nerds do love our lists and stats too okay 😂
I loved this little series and wish it could go on forever, but excited to do it again in February.
OMG!!! So happy to be included in the video. The fact that Hunger Games would’ve been my top read except that it was my last book of ‘23 so I didn’t count it in my ‘24 favorites. 4:40
Also, Rob picked the only one of the Cynthia Murphy books I haven’t read yet.
I knew my list would throw them off.
I love when Rob appears in your videos! It’s always so chaotic and wholesome. Also that color of top looks amazing on you, Kayla. 💜
“Roy-sin” and “Puh-salm” are diabolical, Kayla 😂
Kayla that purple colour is absolutely stunning on you! It goes so nicely with your hair and eyes 💜 I have been loving this series and getting lots of recs from it :)
would love to see you do a video on books that include frogs in some way like the series you did with dinosaurs, sharks, etc! Waiting for the day you connect that theyre all book of the month books bc i feel like thatd be a game changer for your guesses
SAME
It would be so fun if you recommended books based on peoples’ complete best of the year or all time lists! Just listening to your commentary is so fun!

this format is so much fun!! would love to see more of this type of videos
4:47 I cannot stop laughing at the incredibly sound logic both of you had for Jordyn and then your face at the reveal 😂😂😂
I could watch a million of these. Can’t wait for the series to come back in March!
Was about to comment that I never want this series to end, and then it was confirmed we would get more ❤️🎉
Omg the all time favorites is going to be so fun!
This series is so fun. Please keep making these. It's fun to see people with the same taste as me and what they also enjoyed.
I love this series!!! I would love for this to be a monthly video you do!!! 💜💜💜
Got so excited to see another of these videos! It's been one of my favorite little series to watch and I occasionally go dig through the spreadsheet for recommendations
I’m so excited for these series. I’m so happy you adjusted the points because you sometimes were so close and didn’t give yourself .5. This is so much fun to watch lol
this might be my favourite series you've ever done, but i am seated for every 'guessing the cover' vid too! I've been FED this week
excited to see Kayla work her wizardry one last time!!
This has become my favorite series! I'm talking to the TV like you can hear me, LOL! So much fun, keep them coming.
Roy-sin has me dying 😆 God help those of us with Irish names 😭 (it’s Row-Sheen for anyone who wants to know)
Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, Rob joins in (well at the beginning but I’ll take what I can get) 😂👏 Amazing job on this one!!
I am so living for these videos. I will watch literally anything you post, but these are so fun 😂
Eeeek! I was so surprised when my list appeared in this video! Thanks for picking it! It's funny because when I filled out your spreadsheet last year, I had a lot more variation in genre but this year all my most successful reads were sci fi (I think escapism is feeling v helpful lately!) This has been such a fun series!!
26:46 I knew Roisin is an Irish name so I immediately guessed intermezzo 😂
One thing I learned with this series is how beloved Nothing to see here is nowadays. Back when I read it in 2020 nobody knew it or understood the appeal and now, a few years later people are loving that book.
This is my new favorite game to watch EVER . LOVE THIS
These videos are so much fun! I'm glad you are doinng an all time favorites version in March!!
lmao I tried explaining the concept to my husband last time you premiered this series and it took him a minute to understand what was happening 🤣
This might be my favorite series ever - loving this and can't wait for the all time favorites. ❤️
ugh i’ve LOVED this series it’s so fun!!!
I’m so obsessed with this series haha
I love these videos! Looking forward to the Feb series. And I was ecstatic to see you guess my book!!! So super fun and great job 😊
I did look at the spreadsheet to see if I could find some recs by those who read similarly to me! ^RE Rob’s question/statement if anyone subscribes to look at spreadsheets lol
I truly love this series. It's so fun.
Yessss I’m obsessed with this video series 😍🤩
This is my new favorite of your series
This is so fun and you are so good at it!
Already working on my top ten list for February!
this has been such a fun series!! i’m excited to see more 💕
I enjoyed these so much!
Melissa! You have wonderful reading taste haha this was so much fun!
I just want to say Rob and You have been glowing in your videos together. I hope that's not weird.
Just saw your end of year wrap up video and have been binging your videos ever since! Quickly becoming one of my favourite booktuber channels :)
I’m playing along for the third time!!
My guesses

14. Any Brandon Sanderson
15. Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer, or A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock
Also The Song of Achilles was a reread for me. And it’s my fave ❤
"if it's not bride I'll eat my shorts".....😳
that was the most surprising part of this video 🤣
This is so random, but I'm a new viewer and you remind me so much of Katherine Ryan, the comedian. Both the way you look and some of the way you talk. (Are you Canadian?) This is a total complement as I love her and think she's hilarious! Also, The Laurie from The Icing Artist! Love the video!! ❤
The satisfaction when I guess which book Kayla is going to guess just adds to my own point system.
Manifesting that you will look at my all time fave books in Feb 🤞 this series has been so fun
Your surprise reactions are giving me life. 😂😋
I'm excited for you to read Premee Mohamed! Her writing is beautiful, and she's from Edmonton!
Butcher of the Forest was great and I think Kayla will like it!!
lol the one that was left out was the hardest one on my list to get alone. They were not in any order
However bunny and pallbearers club were also 5/4s for me.
And yes I read a lot physically but I do run marathons and listen to lots of audiobooks 😂
I love it!! Thanks so much for participating!!
I would love to see Rob read your top ten and his reviews
You did great with these, as usual. So impressive.
liked in the first couple of seconds for rob's willingness to sing!
“I just assume you’ve read every book I see”! 😁 A quote my husband would’ve said!! 😜😜
“That is very Kayla” 😂😂😂
*freaking out about being asked to think about only 10 all time fave books*
Thanks for the heads up for compiling our top 10 of all time 😅
The panic I felt realizing I'll have to finalize my list of all time favourites soon!
I was thinking the exact same thing!
Truuuuuue, it's gonna be difficult haha
Literally ran to to my shelves and started analyzing 😅
thank you so much for all of these videos :)
I have loved this series of guessing.
I am living for these! 🫶
I do really enjoy these videos
Omg The Butcher of the Forest is one of the books I regret not getting to in 2024! Yeah most definitely have to get to it this year
It's worth it! And the author is Canadian, from Edmonton
Fun about the continuation!!! I didn’t participate in this one bc I had a bad reading year but an all time one sounds so fun I hope I get picked eventually 🙂
Is there a color that doesn’t look good on you?! 🤩 This purple on you is *chef’s kiss* 🤌🏻
I did not expect that to turn bold haha
Evening just guessing one of these is legit impressive
Oh there is NO WAY you’d figure out my all-time favorite book based on what ranks below it. I’m so in. (I do wish you’d gotten to do mine this round because you would have appreciated the freakishly coherent color scheme.)
So excited to watch you continue to play this game in February! Although trying to narrow down a top 10 of all time??? Impossible.
It’s my birthday🎁I love having a Kayla video for my birthday and I’ve been enjoying this little mini series of guessing favourite books 📚 it’s so fun to see people’s reading tastes and how unexpected some of them can be 💓 my favourites this year were Magnolia Parks into the Dark , Vera Wong, Dallergut Dream Department store, Blue sisters and the poppy war 💙🐉
you pronouncing Roisin like that has me laughing. it’s pronounced Ro-Sheen ❤️
„The Chestnut Man” is good ;D I can recommend it 16:50
My all time favorite book is one that practically no one has heard of and, last time I checked, out of print, even as an ebook.
perfect timing, I just got takeout!
ahh yes yes yes!! ive been waiting for this one!!!
omg alycia has great taste
So excited for this.
I go back to work tomorrow and need to wake up at 5:30 am but this is my new favorite series so here I am!🤩
4.15am in London why am I awake for the upload of this😮😊
Can't wait for the spin-off where you eat your shorts hahaha just kidding this was SUCH a fun one!!
I submitted mine late because I overthink everything, but YOU BET I will be faster with my all time favorites
idk if this game format would work in a besties live show but if it did…could be fun 🎉
“I probably would’ve gone to intermezzo & I bet some of you did”
I for one wouldn’t have landed on anything lol
I've said it a million times, but I am such a stan of your marriage.
This was such a fun journey!
im going to have to start thinking about my top 10 books now omg.
The fact that you even get one right just blows my mind 🤯
Omg Kayla, you might love Blood over Bright Haven. Or at least I hope so. 😅
i wanted to mention Kistal's number 2 book looks just like the cover you designed in your other video 🤣🤣
Kayla, read the Chestnut Man!! 😊
Immediately and fully panicking at the thought of ranking my top ten of all time. I guess I'll be rereading some favorites before February!
