    Jenny is definitely the absolute BEST with explaining everything about carnivore 🙌🏼. I send everyone to her channel. Thank you Jenny for always making things clear. I’m still having a stall and it’s been two months. I just can’t stop having cream in my coffee, still can’t get all the calories in because I am NOT hungry! Just wanna lose another 5-10 lbs. guess I’m supposed to be where I’m at possibly 🤷🏼‍♀️.

      @@JennyMitich thank you so much for all of the helpful information. But I am so confused. Can’t seem to get a response from anyone to find out for certain. Can you help me? My husband is six months in - he’s been doing 1g protein/1lb desired weight. He has lost 45 lbs so far. I just started the 90 BBBES on Monday (8/12). I am 5”2, started 138 lbs. I am currently 130. My desired weight is 110. I am very active- run long distance daily and weight train. Should I be eating 1.2g protein/KILOGRAM or 1.2g protein/POUND? Because I keep seeing conflicting information. (Kelly Hogan and Amber O’Hearn suggest 1.2g protein/KILOGRAM desired body weight.)
      I definitely don’t want to gain weight. And when I started the first day, 110 grams of protein seemed impossible to consume, but when I adjusted it per this video 1g protein x 49.9 KG = 59.8 G protein a day - that seemed much easier to consume, but I’m afraid I’m going too low. Can you please confirm the correct calculations? Over the past few days, I just randomly set my carb manager app at 71g protein/129 g fat/1812 calories and my weight seemed to steadily drop. Everyone says I can have as much as I want just stick to eggs, butter, bacon, beef- my problem is - I’m never really that hungry, so I need some type of base idea what to aim for each day in macros. Can you please help me with my macros? 🙏

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  3 місяці тому

      @@joyelleforjesus hello! Sure, I can try to help. So for protein, there are tons of different ways you can calculate it. I do 1g protein per pound of ideal body weight, so that would be 110g minimum for you. But you could also multiply by .6, .8, 1.2, 1.5 even. Since you are so physically active, you can tolerate a bit more of protein.

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  3 місяці тому +1

      @@joyelleforjesus for now, you are soooo early on Carnivore, so if you’re losing, keep doing what you’re doing. I say minimum 1600-1800 cals per day, pick what amount of protein works best for you (I think between 70-150g would be perfect for you), and make up the rest with fat. It’s only when you hit a long weight loss stall that you would need to dial this in more and pull more levers.

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  3 місяці тому

      @@joyelleforjesus finally, as far as appetite, that is pretty common in the beginning. Aim for at least 2 meals per day to ensure you are getting adequate nutrition 👍🏻after a month or two, your hunger signals will adjust. Your appetite will be different though, than it was when you were carb heavy. I would say most Carnivores eat 2x per day

    Most people on carnivore sort of land on a few meals they eat repeatedly. Makes tracking super easy. I used tracking paying attention to my energy level and sleep. Makes a difference. Landing at 60/40 to feel my best. I have heard some talk about menopausal women needing less fat. It's good info

      Dr. Elizabeth Black states that women need more fat (80% of your calories) than men and even more fat when going through puberty, when they are pregnant, nursing, and going through menopause. I suspect that women should increase the percentage of fat when they are getting close to menopause because most women start showing symptoms a few years before they realize that menopause is on the horizon.

    the fact that excess protein can be converted to glucose blows a huge hole in the argument that "Keto/Carnivore" is unhealthy, and that the body "has to have carbs" to be healthy (sugar feeds the brain lie}, as any tiny amount of glucose the body requires is supplied by the protein intake.

    It makes me insane to track calories, I do OMAD carnivore and try to eat things I know are 70/30 then I’ll up the fat a little from there assuming I’m getting close to 80/20 fat to protein but I think I fluctuate a bit. Losing a slow 3-4 lb a month should get to goal weight by august.

    So a lot of carnivores say 'eat untill your comfortable full', if I do that I only consume like 1400 calories. I do OMAD because I'm just not hungry. I even force myself to eat the 1400 calories. Just to know: if I would follow the rule of only eating when hungry, am I not going to undereat? Does undereating have consequences? Thank you

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  4 місяці тому

      Hello! In that case no. I think you should eat at least 2 meals per day and make yourself eat even if you are not hungry. 1400 calories is too low. That is the calories a child should be consuming, not a full grown adult. I would say aim for 1600-1800 minimum, more if you are really active, 1g of protein per pound of ideal body weight, and make up the rest of your calories with fat, and at least 2 meals per day. Its really hard for your body to absorb all the nutrients it needs doing OMAD. Hope this helps!

    Can too much fat cause diarrhoea? I’ve been having ground beef & ground pork, a few eggs and some bacon, all cooked & mixed together with rock salt as my main meal. I only eat one meal per day as I try not to eat outside of daylight hours and usually between 3-4pm. I work night shift 5 nights a week, drink around 2ltrs of water per day. I find the diarrhoea is occurring in the morning, but I don’t know if it’s happening because of too much fluid or if my body isn’t fat adapted yet. Can you offer any advice please?

      Hello! Yes, it can. Also, too much magnesium. If you are still early in your Carnivore journey, that could be keto flu symptoms, but if it has been some time, try cutting out the hot, rendered fat like you would get after cooking ground beef, and try for only the fat that remains on meat, like the fat on a steak, or cold or room temp animal fats. You could also simply ramp down the fats a little bit and see if that helps too :)

      @@JennyMitich A question about fat intake on carnivore:
      As we lose weight/fat with carnivore aren't we supposed to reduce our fat intake to "convince our body" to burn our body fat rather than the dietary fat we are consuming?
      I thought if we consume 50% or more of our daily calories from fat there is no reason for our body to use our body fat since we are giving it an easy access to the dietary fat?
      I hope the question makes sense. Thank you.

      @@EEEBA1 Hello! It's a great question. You definitely want to keep your fat consumption up, as that is your fuel source if you are not consuming carbs. But, there is a balancing act. You want to allow your body to tap into your fat stores, and if there is an over abundance of food coming in, your body has no reason to do so. But it's tricky, because you also want your body to know it is being fed and not go into "famine mode" and down regulate your metabolism due to not eating enough food. If you have a lot of weight to lose, fasting can be highly effective at taping into those fat stores. I go back and forth between high fat, high calorie Carnivore and fasting, and that has been super effective for me. But you will figure out what works best for you and your body.

      Thank you for your response! But I thought by what he was saying wouldn't that calculate then as 2gs of fat to 1 g of protein so if you have 150g of protein, wouldn't you need 300g of fat?

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  6 місяців тому +1

      @@HealthMasterJedi I think he meant 2 g of protein to 1 g of fat calorically, not in grams. If you were eating 300 g of fat and 150 g of protein that would be a much higher fat to protein ratio. Also, that would be hard to do for a lot of people. You’re talking 2700 cal just for the fat grams alone. Add in the 600 cal for the 150 g of protein and you’re talking about a 3300 cal day. I input that information into MyFitnessPal and that would be an 80% fat to 20% protein day, 3300 cals, 165g protein and 293g fat. That’s doable for somebody that’s very active, or very tall, but for somebody my size I wouldn’t be able to eat that much food. And I can eat a lot! If I adjust the calorie goal down to 2000 staying at that 80% fat to 20% protein, I would need to consume 100g protein and 178g fat.
      But in this video we’re talking about 70% fat to 30% protein calorically, so it ends up being equal amounts in grams. That’s why I just put this into MyFitnessPal, because it can get confusing otherwise. But I’ve also not seen any of Chaffee’s work talking about this so he very well could be saying what you think he’s saying, I have not seen the video🤷🏼‍♀️ I hope this helps and doesn’t just make things more confusing😂

    • @HealthMasterJedi
      @HealthMasterJedi 6 місяців тому

      Ok, so basically you are saying it should be around 1:1 then in terms of grams in meat? So as an active male if I get about let's say 220 grams of protein a day, I would need around 220 grams of fat potentially as well? So I should try to buy meat that is around 80:20 most likely, where the fat per serving is usually close to 1:1? For example 80/20 ground beef I buy is 23g of fat and 19g of protein per serving, and some of the fat probably cooks off a bit so ends up being pretty close to 1:1?
