    I don't have the translation but here's the jist...
    A young boy wakes up to find his family surrounded by him. His grandmother tells him that his mother has left this earth. He will now be an orphan by the light of the candles, but not to worry, his mother is in heaven and one day he will meet her there again.

    Beautiful song! What are the chances of the lyrics being posted in english?
    This is the first time I ever heard this song and found it very moving even though i don't speak Cajun/French.
