I randomly stumbled upon this group/playlist when I was looking up Cajun music one day. Very impressed!!! Makes me wanna pick up a fiddle and learn to play. Maybe I’ll get the chance to drive down from North Texas and see them play one day ❤😊
I'm going to be 75 this year, (2023 -did I just say that?).. Mama, Daddy and I have been listening to Cajun Music since I was a young teen. I want to thank each one of you for giving me so much Joy😘🤗🌹❤️

Au Québec vous parlez toujours Français et vous défendez cette langue les Cajuns ne la parle presque plus seulement dans les chansons. Dommage
@@guyjouve5256 Oui, on défend notre langue avec conviction. Il y a beaucoup de francophones hors Québec ont été assimilés par l'anglais. Le Canada essaie hypocritement de nous assimiler. Bonne chance dans votre coin pays

le parler français qui a été interdit dans écoles après la guerre (cf Hadley Castille: "200 lignes") existait encore jusqu'à récemment dans les chansons, j'ai l'impression que même ça est fini sous le rouleau compresseur du "rock" qui bitume la route de l'oubli de la terre. Les Beatles resteront avec "Michèle ma belle" ou "frère Jacques" dans Paperback writer, et quelques chansons cajun bizarre du vieux temps dans une langue que personne ne comprend plus , n'utilise plus, n'aime plus.
