I just ordered this paddle and used your discount code and I'll update you when I've played with it. I'm grateful to you and others who review paddles on-line because otherwise, people would never hear about these great new, small-company paddles being sold at great prices. I used to use Pickleball Central for all my information, but you and people like you have opened my eyes. Keep up the good work.
Very cool 😎 this comment definitely put a smile on my face. Can't wait to hear your feedback and see if it's relative to mine and others so far!
Thank you for the kind words
@@stspickleball Hello again. After playing with my Neonic for a couple weeks, it is my favorite paddle. More power than my Vatic Prism Flash, softer feel than my B&B Filth. I'm thinking about buying another as a spare, and before they decide to raise the price.
@@DavidMaurer-lk1br haha that’s a good idea love the feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share. Makes me happy you’re enjoying it!
Got this paddle because of your review a few weeks ago and let me tell you , everything you said about this paddle is 100% spot on ! I'm so glad I took a chance on a paddle that honestly I've never heard of before. I was a little worried when I got the paddle and the surface seemed a little slicker than what I'm use to but I kept an open mind , took it to the court and wow did it show out in the spin category !! Don't judge this paddle by the price tag people, you might miss out on a diamond in the rough.
I love this! I love when my reviews translate well into a real life experience for a viewer. Makes me happy. Enjoy!!! And thanks for taking the time to provide feedback for everyone!
I’m really excited for this paddle. This is a huge game changer for Pickleball paddle. I just hope the quality is as good as the price point. Just ordered mine. Thanks for the discount code.
Definitely a game changer for the price that's for sure. We do have a legit game changer releasing early October so stay tuned for that too!
@@stspickleball The Gearbox?
I've been playing with this paddle for the past month now. Great power and spin, but very controllable. The best value on the market right now for a Gen 2 thermoformed paddle.
Hey man! Glad to hear the positive feedback! Love that my review is in alignment with what you're feeling. Always nice to know my experience aligns with my audience! Trying my best to give thorough unbiased reviews and be a resource for the community.
my friends and i got neonic paddles and we've been having a blast
Glad to hear that! :) It's a great paddle for sure.
Love the energy and honesty you bring to your reviews.
Was ready to buy the R3 Pulsar before learning of the Neonic from you.
If price were not a factor, which would you buy?
Honestly I don't think there is any difference. I'd save the money and grab a Neonic. I can't speak to the longevity, and I know Ronbus makes quality paddles that last a long time, but so far it's playing exactly the same and feels like a premium paddle for sure. :)
Really am loving this paddle. well made it seems. Have managed to toss it at least 15 feet in the air, running at the net, and tripping on an upswing. decided to let go of the paddle to catch the net with both hands. Paddle played the same as day one. Managed a couple of more tosses on the ground, but not as dramatic. Still solid as ever.
Damn that’s some good durability testing you’re doing there! 😂 honestly I’m glad you didn’t get hurt that’s number 1 lol. But I love the feedback thank you for coming back and sharing your experience 😊
Amazing review. I am really planning to get this since it seems similar in design to Vatic V7 Pro. How would you compare this to the Hudef? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
I think this paddle is incredible for the price. If you’re used to a Vatic V7 Pro this would be actually a more well constructed version (which is crazy given the price) fully thermoformed, legit Toray t700, unibody, great grip / handle. It has it all at such a good price.
Hello again! Don't know if you've heard but Neonic is releasing a new paddle "the Flow" in a week. It's a hybrid shape with what they say is a softer feel and a lighter weight. While I enjoyed my Force, I don't play with it much anymore because it came in at 8.3 ounces and is a little head heavy for my personal taste, so I'm playing with my Vatic paddles, Prism Flash and Flash. It will be interesting to hear what you think if you get your hands on a Flow. I will probably buy one when it's available, and they're offering an early purchase date for owners of the Force. Cool company.
Very cool company! I have heard of that I’m going to grab one and do a review for sure. I’m sure it’s going to feel a lot like six zero given their quality materials honestly.
Hi! I got my Neonic Flow and it's a real winner. I sold my Force because at 8.3 ounces it felt a little head heavy and I've decided I prefer a hybrid shape. My Flow, at 8.0 ounces, feels quicker, softer, and very stable. It has more power than my Vatic Prism Flash and is almost as good at the control game. I think you'll like it!
@@DavidMaurer-lk1br glad you’re loving it man! Gonna shoot some footage of it so I can get it on the court tomorrow! 😊😊
Another solid review. You have the access to manufacturers, so I'll ask you why the adhesive used for attaching the face to the core is NEVER mentioned. Is it a industry standard product? What's the temp resistant specs, flexibility, durability etc.Keep us posted on these "rumors" of new upgrades to a few paddles brands.
Honestly I've never looked into it so I don't know. But I have heard rumors of some new upgrades coming in the next month or so, whether or not you should be particularly excited about it is yet to be seen. Could be awesome, could flop. I am keeping my expectations low haha. But no, I don't have access to manufacturers, not really something I'm interested in. I just wanna get really good at pickleball and spread transparent information about paddles to the community! :)
would this be better that the vatic prism flash for a new player i like the elongated shape thamks chris
Yes I 100% would say it would be. It’s gen 2 fully thermoformed and high quality materials at a great price. If you need more control I’d go prism flash though. But you said you prefer elongated so snag this and don’t look back!
Almost bought this about 2 weeks ago on Amazon but didn't have any reviews so cancelled and bought a double diamond. After seeing your review, decided to get this as a backup paddle and pulled the trigger. Used your code. Thank you!
Heck yeah! Curious to hear your thoughts when you get it! Always want feedback from viewers to see how my reviews translate into your experience with the paddle. I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for your insightful videos. I'm currently using Vatic Pro Prism Flash 14mm which I like. Will I find Neonic Force a big improvement over my current paddle in terms of power, pop & spin without loosing much control? Greater power, pop & spin would be nice but I'd rather not buy another paddle if the improvement will be only incremental. I like driving the ball with lots of topspin. Thank you!
Yes absolutely. It has a lot more power and pop and has very solid spin but I’d say manageable control. It will have less control than the prism but I would say it’s manageable.
Thank you!
Impulse bought one with your code... Hopefully it will be pretty similar to my legacy pro! Thanks for the review.
It will likely be a touch less powerful than the legacy. But I think you're going to be very surprised by how nice it is for the price. Kinda crazy haha. Report back and let me know what you think when you get it!
@@stspickleball How's the swing weight and control of the Neonic vs Legacy Pro? I am thinking about switching from Legacy Pro after the nationals.
@@doctorpickleball legacy pro swing weight is 120 vs Neonic at 117. Neonic is a bit softer and has better control. Legacy is very firm and has a ton of power and good pop. You'll see a slight decrease in power and an increase in control with the Neonic.
Looking forward to the comparison with the Hudef Viva Pro Gen 2. Neonic has a 3 month warranty while Hudef is lifetime.
Very true. Played with the Hudef Viva Pro Gen 2 yesterday. Feels exactly like a legacy or a CRBN 1x. So if you want more power I'd go Pro Gen 2, and if you want a bit more control and not such a rigid face feel I'd go Neonic. Same code for HUDEF too if you want a discount ☺️ I'll have that review out soon!
Just got my paddle last week, played two 2 hour sessions. Wow, just like you said power, pop and spin all good. Thanks for the heads up. Had to wait a couple of weeks to get it but so glad I waited. Thanks again.
Awesome!!! Love feedback like this man. Always makes me happy when a viewer has a positive experience from what I’m sharing and curating. Thanks for taking the time to share!
Hi there, nice review! I’m thinking of getting either this or the Vatic prism flash, what do you think would be better? New player here.
I would go Neonic personally. It's fully thermoformed and feels really premium for the price. 100%
Dude! Still loving the reviews! Keep them coming.
Also, enjoyed the extra paddle stat comparisons you did in this one. Super helpful.

Always take your feedback into consideration for sure. I've had a few people asking for a bit more comparison info on those slides so I made sure to add it. Thank you so much!
@@stspickleballsame here, I like the comparison stats (as long as it's not biased) keep it coming!
Hello, thanks for the review! I'm a complete beginner and was eyeing this vs the Vatic Prism Flash, which one would be better for a beginner? Is the sweet spot on the prism flash larger?
I would go with the Neonic personally. Prism flash isn’t thermoformed so it will have a smaller sweet spot 😊 also the general construction of the Neonic is nicer and will last longer.
If I’m upgrading from the Prism
flash and want more power but like plushy, would you recommend this, the Flow or something else?
I would recommend a 16mm Mach 2 Forza with 4 pre cut strips of lead tape each at the 2 4 & 8 o’clock positions and 2 at the 10 and 2 o’clock positions. Super plush, but will have more power with the added weight and more pop. Also thermoformed which will give it more power and pop, but still has a plush feel and tons of spin.
Thanks!
Great reveiw, didn't know the numbers on the joola paddles were that bad. Oh well, they make nice shirts. One thing I was curious about was the handle construction on the Neonic. Are the sides thermoformed all the way down, is the hump carbon fiber or balsa wood? Also have you had any experience with the Legacy Pro S.
Yes it's thermoformed all the way down. There is no balsa wood at all in the construction of the paddle I just sent an email to the owner and he said no balsa wood components nothing "cheap". And I haven't tried the Legacy S yet but it's on my list of paddles I need to review! Also there is no exposed polymer in the handle. Solid all the way around.
Hey! Thanks for the review. I really like the idea of being a paddle hipster and supporting this new product! So I have been playing pickleball for 6weeks(mid beginner level)
That said I've heard good things about vatic prism v7 as well. Currently I use a decathlon paddle LOL (100% carbon fibre face, polypropylene honeycombing core 6 mm, weight 8oz)
My game has been getting better but hitting angled shots or even dinking feels very unnatural. It also isn't very clean in capturing soft shots in defense.
Also someone who also has tennis elbow and shoulder/bicep inflammation issues, is the neonic still a good choice or would the vatic v7 (same pricepoint) be a better upgrade to my current decathlon paddle? Unfortunately I can't try either as I don't live in the US
I will help you the best I can! :) Thank you for providing lots of helpful info. Sorry about your inflammation and your tennis elbow. So my number 1 pick right now for anyone with Tennis elbow/issues like that is the GRUVN MUVN 13S, great spin, incredible control, and a swing weight of only 99. Swing weight is essentially how much weight is distributed towards the head of the paddle vs. towards the grip of the paddle. Lower will feel essentially lighter and heavier will feel more like a hammer and be harder to maneuver in space etc.
So that being said if that's out of your price range I will say the Neonic at 117 swing weight is one of the lowest swing weights for an elongated thermoformed paddle. The Prism V7 is going to have a higher swing weight at 127. Higher swing weight is going to put more strain on your shoulder/elbow. Any of these paddles will be a HUGE upgrade to what you're using right now haha. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Maybe the Vatic Pro Prism Flash.... Swing weight at 117.
I used your promo code the day you uploaded the video. The Neonic paddle I received came in at 8.1oz. I am a 4.0 doubles player who has had issues with golfer’s elbow. I have been using the Ronbus R1.16 and have loved the amazing control/spin it provides. The R1.16 makes dinks, drops and resets unbelievably easy yet it isn’t all positive. The tradeoff is low power, pop and a disconnected feeling. The sweet spot isn’t terrible but it is on the lower side.
I played with the Neonic Force for 4 hours today and here is what I noticed. The transition from the R1.16 was better than expected. There was not a lot of additional power on drives and serves (possibly +20%). If you are expecting a ton of power this is not for you. R1.16 is rated at 2000+ spin and the Neonic’s spin was comparable. The biggest difference was the additional pop. I’m estimating it at +50-70%. This made a huge difference in speed-ups and hand battles. The downside is that this additional pop seemed to make resets more difficult. The Neonic was also a tad harder to control while dinking compared to the R1.16.
The Neonic has a nice level of feedback. You can hear when you nail the sweet spot yet you don’t have the feedback transferring into your arm. I was concerned about that due to my arm issues but so far so good. FYI, I did put on an overgrip and that may have helped. The swing weight of around 117 is very maneuverable at the kitchen.
My overall takeaway is that the Neonic Force is an absolute steal at $89 with the promo code. Thanks for putting out your video because I never would have found this company without you! The paddle appears to be high quality and I’m very happy with this purchase.
This really just put a smile on my face. Reading through this I was hoping you'd have a similar experience to me and by the end I was really happy you had a premium quality experience and you're happy with what you spent your hard-earned money on. That's my whole goal here. I definitely agree with everything you stated and really appreciate all of the feedback on your end! :) Enjoy!!!!
WOuld love to get one. But no shipping to germany. sad kirby is sad... :(
Awww check out my top 5 paddles of the year and see if any of those ship to Germany!
Ballr pro or neonic force?
I would get the Spartus Apollo or the Honolulu J2K but if your heart is set on one of these the Neonic is the better pick 😊
Hello, STS Pickleball! I recently have gotten in to the sport and was thinking about buying a new paddle to take my game to the next level. I thought the neonic would be a great first paddle because of the affordability, and the ratings. Even though it is cheap for a paddle, i wanted something a bit cheaper. I was wondering if you knew if the paddle would ever go on sale?
You can use code STSPICKLEBALL and save a bit more on it. But this is as cheap as it gets for a fully thermoformed “gen 2” paddle. It’s a very good deal! Also if you want more of a hybrid shape check out Mark Pickleball you can use the same code. Great paddles as well I have a review coming out on those very soon.
@@stspickleball thanks!
@@stspickleball which do you think is better, the mark or the neonic!?
I think the Mark is slightly better just because they have a hybrid version the “Pure” which I love!
How does this compare to the Vatic Prism Flash?
It's going to be a bit more power oriented than the prism flash, it was more power, more pop, a touch more spin, and to me feels a bit more premium, it's also fully thermoformed and gen 2 which the prism is not. The prism has foam around the perimeter but it is not thermoformed and will be a bit more control oriented because of this :)
I'm a new subscriber btw awesome review and content on the Neonic Force, I just started pickleball this year coming from a tennis background, for the price the Neonic Force is a steal, I'm conflicted between the Neonic Force and the Hudef Viva Pro Gen 2 which you reviewed as well so anyways that's all for now and have a blessed and safe week
I responded on the other video! 😊😊
I wonder how this compares to the insum t500a, I've been playing with That. Got it for $90 with a coupon on Amazon.
Insum is using T-500 carbon fiber which is a lesser grade than T-700 carbon fiber. Neonic actually uses Toray carbon fiber specifically which is a sort of premium carbon fiber as well. So it should be more durable and will like get more spin and have more power and pop off the face. The insum has foam injection around the perimeter but doesn't say it's thermoformed so it may be a sort of in between gen 1 and gen 2 so again a touch softer off the face and less power. But! Ultimately if you're enjoying the paddle keep on rolling with it man!
I thought my next paddle was going to be a Ronbus R1.16 but this review really has me thinking Neonic! What's your take on longevity between the 2 and what one would you lean towards?
Well Ronbus is known for high quality paddles that last a long time that's for sure. But! It's hard to be a fully thermoformed unibody paddle that's $89. I think if you value control or the soft game I'd go R1.16, but if you value power and want a thermoformed paddle for $89 that feels like a Ronbus pulsar ($170) I'd go Neonic and give it a shot for sure. It really does feel like a premium paddle through and through. I'd love to hear your feedback if you get one. Always curious if my reviews translate through to your real world experience ☺️.
Much appreciated, I'm fairly new to pickleball but I'm a former hockey player so I'll probably value control which seems to lean me toward the Ronbus 1.16, thanks for the help! I'm a new subscriber and love the content, I'll definitely let you know!
@@rick1527 sounds good my friend! Yeah the R1.16 will feel more soft and plush. You won't have as much aggression on your drives, speed ups, or hand battles. But! You will have an easier time with resets, drops, and dinking. Both are really great paddles with solid spin.
@@stspickleball I really appreciate the help! The 6 month warranty on the Ronbus is big since we maybe have 1 more month before it starts snowing. Thank again brother!
@@stspickleballI wound up ordering the Vatic Prism Flash 16mm using your STSPickleball coupon code, I'm super pumped! Thanks for all the awesome content!!!
Hello! Was just wondering on the life span of this paddle (from your experience)? I am planning to get my first ever paddle and am debating on this or the vatic prism v7 or would you be able to recommend anything aside from these that are available on Amazon as I live in the Philippines? Thank you!
I would 100% get the Neonic it’s much higher quality than the V7
I use the r1.16 great paddle but it feels very muted even when you hit it in the sweet spot. While the volair for a Mach 1 you can really tell when you hit the sweet spot. How does this paddle compare? Is the feed back good or more muted?
Also would you go with a double black diamond or this paddle?
I mean if price isn't an issue the double black diamond has a touch more feedback off the face. But honestly this paddle has good feedback too. The R1.16 is non thermoformed which means there's no foam around the perimeter of the paddle and it isn't heat treated. Non thermoformed paddles are considered gen 1 paddles and will feel muted like you said. This paddle doesn't feel muted, it has nice power and rigidity off the face. It honestly feels a lot like the forza. All three of these paddles the forza, the Neonic, and the DBD feel fairly relative. If you value pop, control, and durability I'd go DBD, if you value a touch more spin and power I'd go forza, and if you wanna save some money and get a paddle that feels like a nice blend of both although just a touch softer off the face (not so much to feel muted) I'd go Neonic. All subtle differences here as they are all thermoformed and utilizing premium quality materials.
How does the Neonic Force compare to the Ronbus R1.16 ?
More power, relative spin, more pop, less control 😊
Thanks for the great review! So glad you did a review on this one because I've been thinking about getting one for a while since I'm looking for an elongated gen 2 paddle with a lighter swing weight. The price is definitely right but the only concern I have is with potential delamination/ core crushing issues with a cheaper paddle. Since you've hit with it for a bit how do you feel the quality is and do you think it might have some of these issues?
I can't speak yet long term but I will say it feels like a very high quality paddle for the price for sure. I think it's worth a shot at the price point 100% based on current testing. I'm very impressed. (Currently been rotating it in for about a month with zero issues so far)
Great! Thanks so much for the info! Btw, keep up the great reviews, you're killing it!
How does it compare to the six zero double black diamond?
Honestly feels pretty similar off the face. I think the Six Zero has a bit more pop and also just is a better bet for the long term. Six Zero has incredible quality control and manufacturing processes so you can definitely rely on them to have no delamination generally speaking. But, if you wanna save a few bucks I think the Neonic is right up there with the big boys :)
I've recently bought a Neonic Force paddle using your code and noticed that the raw carbon surface appears much smoother compared to other brands like Vatic Pro and XSPAK. I'd like to confirm if this is the expected texture for this particular paddle model.
Yes it is. There are two textures you have a smooth tight weave texture and a rough loose weave texture. The smooth tight weave texture has incredible spin overall, and the loose rough weave texture has variable spin. Some of the looser rough weave textured surfaces have low spin and some have high spin. But what you feel on the Neonic is the same as mine and will have incredible spin 😊
Great review. I am using a Gruvn Launch 16. Will I find it difficult to adju to an elongated shaped paddle? the Gruvn is more square. Thanks
Seeing as that's one of GRUVNs more entry level models I would say not so much. The Launch paddle won't be as plush as a RAW 16X or other raw carbon fiber paddles so you actually might feel like this one is even more plush to be honest. I think you'll find this paddle to be a massive upgrade from the one you're using.
I ordered my neonic paddle on Monday and I still haven’t gotten a confirmation email or anything regarding my order. I used the website you put on the link and used your code as well. Did any one else have this problem?
Yeah it took a little longer than usual for me too. It's a newer company and they are very small. They do have really solid customer service though. If you're concerned you can send them an email they always get back to me really quick ☺️
I’m a new player and based on your review of the Vatic Prism flash, I bought it (last night). This morning, I saw your review of the Neonic, I just bought it, too. Please don’t review something new for a while. 😂
Hahaha fair enough!! I have more reviews in the pipeline but I would say you did a great job. Those are 2 very high quality paddles that will keep you happy for a while. The Neonic will be your power paddle, and the flash will be your more control / fast hand speed paddle. You have a good variety of playstyles to mess with now!
@@stspickleball I did get the Flash in 14mm and the Neonic in 16mm.
@@DavidAmbrico Very cool let me know your thoughts and which one you're preferring once you get to use them a bit :)
Neonic vs. Engage Pro MX 6.0, which one is better?
I've been testing the Engage Pro MX 6.0 for a while now. I mean it's a premium paddle done right by a much larger company. I would give the edge to the Engage Pro here. But I think ultimately it just comes down to budget. If you have the extra money to spend on a paddle for a bit of extra value then I would go Engage. I think if you want a really solid paddle at an incredible price and don't need the extra 10%-15% you'd get from the Engage in all aspects I would just go Neonic and keep practicing. It's diminishing returns but returns nonetheless.
There are a lot of good reviews for this paddle, but yours specifically sold me. Thanks!
You’re very welcome!
Just ordered this paddle based on your great review and discount. Thanks! I feel like i am taking some risks, as paddle won't ship for 2 weeks and not a lot of online info. on Neonic. How much confidence do you have on Neonic?
I mean for the price it's the current best paddle you can buy for an elongated paddle for sure. Also if you prefer a lower swing weight this is great. I have very solid confidence in Neonic :) The owner is a good dude too! But it all really comes down to price. If you don't want to take any chances you can always get a Six Zero Double Black Diamond, a Ronbus, or a GRUVN MUVN 13S or 16X those are all paddles that are backed with time and incredible companies. But they are more expensive.
@@stspickleball Thanks for the reassurance. I feel much better about Neonic. Can't wait to try it. Read all your stuff!
The zenith a11n c7 looks comparable to it. I wish you could review it for us too hehe
I will be reviewing it very soon!
Another great video. Looks like there's a new king of "under $100" paddle. I would love to try it. What is your process on ranking the sweet spot?
Definitely the new king "under $100" indeed! Honestly, what I do is I do tons of off center dinking on the wall, off center drives with a ball machine or drilling partner, and I also do some games where I let everyone know I am testing a paddle and I hit off center shots often and see how solid they feel over time and if I can still maintain a solid game that way. And if all goes well it gets a higher score, and if everything goes to $#@! then it gets a low score haha.
Do you have a Spreadsheet with your #'s for each paddle? WTB G/M 13 :)!!
Working on that. Apparently it's fairly difficult to put a spreadsheet style database online. There aren't many applications for it, and the ones they do have are fairly complicated so I'm trying to put it all together right now actually 😂
Twist weight?
6.61 TW 😊
Thanks
So for the same price as the Vatic Prism Flash 16mm , which to go for? Torray on the Vatic and the Neonic, but not a full thermoform for the Vatic right? what's best for all around playability , an all court paddle? Thanks for the insights and Ill use your code when I figure out which one to buy.
100% the Neonic. It literally plays like all of the top paddles for $89 it’s kind of wild how good it is ☺️ seems extremely durable as well!
thank you!!@@stspickleball
this paddle and the vatic are the best value paddles on the market.
Totally agree :)
Awesome review! Purchased this paddle immediately.
Can't really beat it for the price. Even these days.
Love your videos! Great fresh take on the review process. Two questions for you:
1. I've read in a few places that this paddle seems to play pretty head-light for an elongated paddle (which I like). Did you notice that?
2. You referenced on several occasions that this paddle plays similar to the R3 Pulsar. I've never played a Pulsar. How is it different than a traditional thermoformed paddle?
Thanks and keep up the great work!
It is more head light yes! And basically the pulsar is one of the more “plush” feeling thermoformed paddles I’ve played with. It’s not quite as firm and rigid as a lot of other thermoformed paddles and the Neonic also has that more plush slightly softer feel off the face
@@stspickleball : Thanks so much, man! And how would you describe the Neonic in terms of how it plays compared to the GRUVN MUVN (currently my daily driver).
Keep up the great work! Looking forward to the next video!
I’m sold lol. From your review to the comments, I’m through searching. This will probably be my next paddle. I appreciate the review. Blessings bro.
Great choice honestly! Super premium paddle at a crazy price.
And thank you for the kind words!
Hi, I was thinking about buying the ballr pro based on your earlier review but now I'm a bit torn, which of those two are the better under 100 option?
The Neonic is a better option at the price point now. Everything is evolving rather quickly and I would take a gen 2 thermoformed paddle for the same price over a gen 1 non thermoformed paddle. It's a more premium experience through and through.
thank you!@@stspickleball
I have been playing a gen 1 paddle. I’ve really dialed in my drops but still sometimes come up short on resets. My power is just average. What would you recommend if I was looking for a paddle with more power but still controllable?
I think for you if you want more power but still want some control I would recommend either this paddle or the Six Zero Double Black Diamond :) If you wanted to go full on control with super fast hand speed I would say MUVN 13S. Those are the top picks right now!
just ordered the neonic today. i will let you know how it goes in a couple of weeks. thanks for the discount code and keep the reviews coming. @@stspickleball
Would you say it's better than the Vatic prism flash? I literally just ordered it 30 minutes ago so i can still cancel my order 😂
Also I'm pretty new to the sport so idk if that makes a difference. My only experience before was 1 semester of racquetball in college about 8 years ago
Yes I would consider this better than the flash personally. It’s a fully thermoformed paddle with TORAY T700 carbon fiber. The flash isn’t thermoformed. I’d go with the Neonic!
Pls do review the zenith c7 and c8 for us thank you!
I will look into it ☺️
I just started playing pickleball recently, and I'm shopping for a first paddle. Would you recommend this paddle or the Vatic Prism flash?
Do you think you'd rather have a faster paddle with a touch more control? Or a paddle that has quite a bit more power and is newer technology? First would be Prism flash, second would be Neonic! ☺️
@@stspickleball Im so greedy. I want both, but my bank wont be able to support that decision, LOL.
@@amirheravi7950 Hahaha well if you have a feel for the ball off the face yet do you think you would prefer something a touch softer off the face or a touch firmer off the face?
@@stspickleball I think I'd prefer firmer. I've only been playing for 2 weeks or so with cheap amazon paddles. I only play doubles atm, and I feel like my serves tend to go a tad too long, need it to drop maybe an inch faster.
Will you be reviewing the neonic flow ?
If I can find time I may, but it is a fast in the hands paddle with solid spin, medium power, and solid pop. Great if you’re looking for a highly maneuverable paddle at a solid price.
How does it compare to the Vatic Pro?
Vatic pro V7 will have a bit more power and pop to it, but less control and almost the exact same spin numbers. Vatic Pro V7 is 119 swing weight and the Neonic is 117 swing weight putting it at a lighter feel for an elongated paddle. I'd say if you want a touch more power and pop id go vatic pro V7 and if you want a nice blend of solid power and pop with more controlability and a way cheaper price I'd go Neonic. Both paddles are using TORAY T700 carbon fiber. And a quick note I forgot to add in the video but the Neonic does not have exposed polymer on the sides of the grip, it's a fully solid grip all the way around which is another impressive point for such a good price. The only thing I can't speak to yet is the longevity, but when comparing to Vatics delamination issues I'd say they are atleast equal in longevity until we see some time spent on Neonic and some feedback in the comments etc. over time.
@@stspickleballCan I also chime in and ask if the face of the Neonic is Less stiff than the Vatic Pro V7?
@@braddaddis371 It is a bit less stiff than the Vatic Pro V7 yes. I would put the Vatic Pro V7 in the same grouping as the CRBN 1x, the B&B Filth, the new Hudef Viva Pro Gen 2, and the Legacy Pro. They are all the firmest paddles and the most power oriented and also pop oriented paddles available.
Thanks so much for the info and for always responding quickly! Side note- your comparisons to other paddles during your reviews takes the reviews to the next level and gives us all a better sense of of the paddle you might be talking about. Keep crushing it!
@@braddaddis371 Thank you! Yeah I always try and put myself in the position of someone really trying to figure out paddles especially if they are newer and I would want to have some frame of reference to compare to so I can pre guage the power / feel of a paddle before spending money on it. :) Glad you find it helpful. Thank you for the feedback!!
Hello, I was considering the Rombus R1..R2 or R3..or Pulsar...How would compare this paddle to those?
I am currently testing Joola Hyperion..Selkirk Epic Vanguard 2.0....and Kinetic Black Ace..out of these 3 I prefer the Selkirk Vanguard 2.0...
So out of these options what is you're recommendation if I am narrowed down to the Selkirk, Neonic and Rombus?
Thank you
What do you like about the Vanguard that it's softer and more plush in comparison to the others?
@@stspickleball Hello, yes you are correct. I do like the softer feel and it seems to have a larger sweet spot and somewhat more forgiving. I just started pickleball but have played tennis before so I have picked up this game quite fast.
This paddle seems to have a bit more control and I can always power through a forhand when needed.
Do you have a recommendation for something similar that would be even better?
A local guy is also throwing out a brand called Thrive....not sure if you have heard or tried they brand...
@@swiftraider759 I have heard of thrive! Likely going to be another Toray T700 raw carbon fiber paddle so we will have to see if they do anything innovative / new :). The Neonic is going to be great if you want a budget paddle that is mostly power oriented but also has a bit a plush feel to it. Not as rigid as a Bread & Butter Filth / CRBN 1X / Legacy. If you really like that Vanguard but you want to essentially double it's spin and maintain the same general feel I would recommend a GRUVN RAW 16X it's an elongated shape but has a super plush feel for control. If you want to just go the full on control route I would recommend the GRUVN MUVN 13S. It's a thermoformed 13mm paddle that has a bit of a smaller face but it has this really amazing feel to it. It's also a swing weight of only 99 so its incredible fast in the hands for hand battles at the kitchen etc. I feel like a weirdo saying the 13S is the best control paddle but for me I just feel like the swing weight being so low and the feel off the face allows me to place my shots and react so quickly that I can control the game so well with that paddle. I think those would be my top 2 picks for you :)
How does this stack up to the Mark paddles? What sub 150 paddle would you recommend for all court?
I think the Neonic is 100% top tier but for me I just prefer the hybrid shape of the Mark Pure. I’d grab a Mark Pure and just not look back if I were you it’s literally a 6.0 Double Black Diamond for $99. Crazy 😂
@stspickleball thank you. I purchased a Mark Pure on your recommendation and also picked up the Kinetic, too (one will be for my wife). I'm curious to see the differences between the two paddles.
You’re gonna love them!!! Report back and let me know what your findings / preferences are and be honest!
Hi!! Thanks for all your videos. I’m trying to decide between the Neonic and the Sword and Shield J2, but I didn’t see that you included the J2 in your selection of the best paddles under 100.00. Any reason for that? Which one would you recommend as the best choice between the two?
The J2 is ok but the Neonic is much higher quality. I would grab a Hudef Viva Pro Gen 2 or a Neonic over a J2 100%
Great!! Thanks for your advice!! Regards
Hello again. Any plans to review the Vatic Pro Flash 16mm?
I've tested it personally, it's a solid paddle with great power and pop. Maybe eventually I will do a dedicated review, but regardless I think the Neonic is just a better paddle at a much better price :)
Thanks for the quick response, and it helps with my decision process. So many good new paddles on the market at good prices, right? Neonic is backordered and I'm still waiting for my paddle but will let you know what I think. They're supposed to ship 10/20. We'll see.
Website/link are down?
Interesting! I just clicked the link and it opened for me ☺️
thanks! wondering why just 3 month warranty (on amazon?)
I don't know! I'd guess just because of the price and the very low margins selling a thermoformed paddle with Toray T700 carbon fiber. But that's just my best guess.
Thanks. I’ll use your code and give the paddle a chance! Great work! 🙏🏻🕊️
3 month warranty? Not going to work for a Noname brand.
Yeah fair enough. I will keep everyone posted on the longevity of the paddle. So far so good. No delam and I have been smashing it on pop ups haha. But it's a fair point and one I wish I had mentioned and often forget to mention in my videos.
@@stspickleball no worry. When Hudef Viva pro was first tested, we are all hyped but then the core corruption. It has a life warranty so it is not a big deal. I am still playing with it and love it but I am on my 3rd paddle.
@@netseraph08 lol fair enough we will see with time how the Neonic holds up!
I have feeling that all these new paddles are made/ subcontracted by few manufacturers from China lol and rebranded for the US market
Oh they are 100% but if a company wants to use the same design of a quality paddle and put it at half the price of everyone else I will definitely let everyone know about it 😂 but you are very likely correct haha
How does this compare to the 11six24.
I would take this over the 11six24 any day for sure :)
compared to Aiso Centric 16MM?
Much better
@@stspickleball unfortunately OOS til aug 29 @neonic
Gotcha I would say in comparison it would be worth the wait 100%. Or! Look into the J2K from Honolulu pickleball. Outstanding paddle.
I absolutely love your reviews! I'm wondering how you think this would compare to the bread and butter filth, although I know you address some of that in your review, but also the pickleball apes new Pro line energy paddle. Those two are currently topping my list but this review may have changed that. Any word on bread and butters new offering?
No word yet that I can speak of :) But! This paddle feels closer to the Pro Line by Pickleball Apes than the B&B Filth. The Filth is much firmer and poppy off the face. It has more power but a bit of a tighter sweet spot than the Neonic. I would say the Pickleball Apes Pro Line paddle is solid but honestly for the price feels very relative to the Neonic and you'll save some money :)
@@stspickleball awesome. Thanks! That's pretty much what I needed to hear. Do you know anything about the B&B Loco? I'm so curious to see what's going to compete with the Filth.
@@EricShapiro-wx5ju I do but I can't share anything yet on it! :)
Can you share what you know now? Lol! I actually pre-ordered it, but am still thinking of getting a Neonic or the Pricing Energy S.
@@EricShapiro-wx5ju ok I do have info on it. It’s the exact same tech and makeup as the Filth but just in a hybrid shape. So nothing very exciting there sadly. I think I will end up skipping the review on that one. But if you like the filth and prefer a hybrid shape it might be wonderful for you! 😊
This paddle is an absolute STEAL for this price. I've been playing with it for the past 2 weeks. Great pop, spin, and actually pretty easy to swing for an elongated paddle. Wish it came with a paddle cover, but can't complain at this price point. Let's go Neonic!
Glad you're diggin it :) yeah the value for the money is pretty nuts
STS, another informative seemingly objective review of a lesser known paddle and company. as a fellow paddle geek these are my bread and butter, so to speak (pun reference intended). I wonder about paddles that are this comparable to higher priced ones for significantly less $. Do you think Neonic has just decided to work off a smaller profit margin or are most of those other guys just a bit greedier? My only slight hesitation in putting the Neonic into my rather small inventory of paddles I offer my pb community is how to convince them to give the Vatics, Ronbus, B & B, Gruvns etc a try. Though price does seem to matter to many of my folks I will have to get me a couple. Speaking of lesser known paddles, my latest go to is the Maverix 16 Power, slightly edging out the Filth. Looking forward to B&B's next release (November?)
Keep up the great work!
Bob
Pun is appreciated and made me smile 😂. Yeah that was a question I had for the owner. He said he gets the paddle for a bit more than the big guys cause he doesn't order as many as they do, and he said he's just going to work off razor thin margins for a while to build his brand and have that be his differentiator. One thing I didn't note in my video is there is no exposed polymer on the handle as well it's solid all the way around. It's really solid and premium through and through. So not only are the big guys getting it for less but they are charging more 😂 such is the way of the world I suppose. I love scouring around and shedding some light on companies like this. Saving my audience and this community some money for a quality paddle is always a good feeling.
This or the Vatic PRISMs?
I would take this personally. Unless you really prioritize hand speed and a bit more control then maybe the flash, but personally I would take the Neonic over either of the Prisms :)
Is the handle was 5.5, sold
Fair enough man. That's a very important metric for some! Appreciate the comment 🙏
Great video. Love my filth but interested….
Definitely a less rigid off the face feel in comparison to the filth. The filth has that super hard hot off the face no dwell time feel. This one has a touch of dwell time and adds a bit more control back in. Solid power just not quite the power of the filth. It's a great paddle for the price, pretty crazy.
Cool. Thanks just ordered one. Worth a shot 😬
Played a couple games with it. Thought it had a strange sound. Partner mentioned it as well. Didn’t play well with it 😮
@@pharm30 That is extremely odd I would email them and get a replacement 100%
My primary is the Filth, and I'd agree with STS's comments about the comparison regarding the more rigid face feel vs the Neonic. For me I love the swing weight balance of the Filth (I don't use lead tape), so the Neonic feels pretty light and fast in comparison. I might experiment with some tape on the Neonic but so far I'm liking the performance and the price.
