Hi, could you help me out here? I have an Elegoo Mars. It reads the original 4GB USB without a problem. I want to create a spare, in case it fails. So I took a 16GB FAT32 USB, formatted it. Copied the files to that one. But the machine only shows empty squares on the display. When I put the USB in the PC it reads the files fine. What am I doing wrong?
@@SlicePrintRoleplay Actually tried it again on a new 4GB drive and it worked, the Mars read it. But one day later the Mars does NOT read it? It still reads the original USB, but I'd like to create a working spare. Will have to try again, but it's odd that it worked before and now it doesn't. Files are still on the USB, I checked.

SanDisk 8 GB drive. Deleted multiple partitions, formatted to single FAT32. Copied exact files from original from the factory USB (Anycubic Photon Mono X) Printer still won't read the file. Any ideas?
A few ideas yeah. #1, did you try slicing at least one file and saving it directly to the USB? I've only found that necessary for one printer, but it's worth trying. #2, have you checked to see if there's updated firmware available for your printer? I've not heard of this being an issue with Anycubic printers. However, often on Elegoo printers if you're using the current version of your slicer and older firmware then the sliced files can't be read by the printer. This is because Elegoo changed the file type that some of their printers use so without the updated firmware they can't be used with updated versions of most slicers. #3, has this printer been able to view any files on any USB including the stock drive?
@@SlicePrintRoleplay Thank you. 1. Yes 2. I updated already to the latest version 3. Yes. Seems to only read USB drives 4GB max. No success with bigger ones.
@@SlicePrintRoleplay I suppose I can do with the 4GB ones? 3D printing rookie here. In my experience most of these 3D model files are pretty small. Do you think I would ever need to load files bigger than 4GB on my printer?

Have you checked to make sure you're using the newest firmware for your printer? This is a common issue with Elegoo printers. The slicer gets updated and then puts out a file that the printer can't read without the newest firmware. If that's not the issue I'd try a smaller sized drive.
I just also wanted to note, if your using or purchased a larger thumb drive to use, while in the disk management window, right click the partition and shrink it to 16gb or lower. This will allow it to work 😊 cheers!

it could be the type of your pen drive partition. you need to convert from gpt to mbr in Windows, then format it in fat32.
