whatever happened to games like starcraft, command & conquer, warcraft 1-3.. all those are very old but that style seemed to have died off for some reason
@@DavidGoliath-df8og I'm talking about the formula of collecting resources, building a base and fighting. It seems to have been forgotten about. All those games were huge, it's strange that they would just stop making similar ones.

I got Spellforce after watching this. Totally blown away by how good it is. The story is good so far, and the voice acting is good too, I don't skip any conversations at all.

Highly recommend Boneraiser Minions: rts autobattler/roguelike that is one of the best games around, dirt cheap and constant updates! Really scratched an itch for a quick 15-45 minute break between grand strategy campaigns!

Can somebody help me find an one old game? All I remember that it was like Age of empire or Empire earth and very specific things were black big tents (like a building) that you can capture. The tents were spawning (on their own) archers on horses as well as fighters on horses. First the tent was neutral, that means the tent was hostile to all players, if somebody captured it then it was his and was spawning his guys on horses. This wasn't the main mechanic of the game, but very fun little thing and I would like to play it again
I want a micro, hero, building and unit based RTS like warcraft. I had to leave warcraft because it's going under, Spellforce and Starcraft are my choices although i only play Starcraft Coop from time to time. The spellforce gameplay feels laggy and slow, micro based is not so good, and some more. Night is coming and Stormgate are looking interesting though.
Northgard is the only refresher on the list, all others are somewhat building on legacy, and Frozenheim fails to provide enjoyable gameplay despite looking awesome visually
@@ColdBeerSupreme commander forged alliance. There is a program called FAF (Forged alliance forever), where it is run and patched by fans. You should try it, probably the best RTS ever created.
Not trying to be rude, but if mods where allowed in multiplayer, what about "1M HP TANK WITH NUKES AS PROJECTILES! GET IT NOW, WIN EVERY MP BATTLE!"? :D
@@ColdBeer The proper way to deal with it(back in the day) was checking the rules.ini files. Someone's files didn't match up with host? he couldn't join, I hardly play Remastered due to no real mod support, I stick to the old C&C games.

My first RTS game was SC2 amd u haven't really played any other one not until when i got test out Stormgate, Gates of Pyre and Zerospace.
all of these are meh comparing to a masterpiece that is SC2
For those wondering why the RTS genre fell off, remember that the first mount in WoW made more money to blizzard than SC 2 Wings of liberty did...

there is spellforce versus, i havent played buy i think it is just the rts skirmish and online part. It comes free with the normal game
