New sub here, sent from The Timeless Watch Channel. ^_^ The cover of this vdo reminds me of the cover of one of britpop bands in '90. A song called Inbetweener. Hm ... On the tip of my tongue. Oh ... It is Sleeper. Really enjoyed the content of this channel. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. Thank you for mentioning the Bulova Accutron Astronaut. I own this historical timepiece. Unfortunately not many appreciate it and I have self doubted having purchased it.
The Accutron Astronaut was worn by testpilots during the NAA X-15 hypersonic flight research program. It was also worn by Gordon Cooper on MA-9 (1963) and Gemini V (1965) In fact Gordon Cooper gifted an Accutron Astronaut GMT pilot watch to cosmonaut Belyayev during their meet up in Athens - Greece in September 1965 #MoonwatchUniverse
All Mercury astronauts received a couple of Accutron wristwatches, time-period photos are evidence that they initially wore a sigle line dial "Accutron" pilot watch and later got the double line dial "Accutron Astronaut" as it was introduced in the summer of 1962 to honor the X-15 testpilots of NASA's hypersonic rocket-aircraft research program !
Nowadays the over-hyped Speedmaster but in those days a real toolwatch and well used chronograph. By the Way exactly 34 NASA astronauts ended up with a Gold Apollo 11 tribute Speedmaster as Omega gifted these during a VIP dinner in Houston on November 25, 1969 !
Very nice.
Thanks Oisin
Interesting subject, but so incomplete... before selection as NASA astronauts in April 1959, most of these pilots wore a Bulova 3818 with 24 Hrs dial
Also here from the Timeless Watch Channel. Subbed.

Great video Ben. I wasn’t aware of Scott Carpenters Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute. An interesting piece. Top work. ✊
Thanks a million Tom, I will send those photos to you later today, Ben

Cheers Michael, I appreciate that, audio has loads of pops but after 8 hours learning final cut, I didn’t have the heart to re record
Coop was probably the best pilot of the lot. Wonder indeed. Great video.
