Came for the collage, stayed for the seahorse facts! I really admire your ability to figure out these amazing combinations and your patience with cutting out all these details to get just the right overlaps, arrangements, and looks. I'm so glad to have found this channel.
👏👏👏 I love it when you and Rosie @East of Honey collaborate. Pushing oneself beyond your comfort zone results is surprises every time. Keep doing them! I can’t wait for the next one 😊
I’m late to this party, being without internet for a week, but you and Rosie really outdid yourselves!!! Watching you tackle that vase was stressful to say the least. I think I held my breath the whole time. Kudos to the both of you!!! Keep the collaborations coming. We love ‘em!!! ❤
I just love what you and East of Honey are doing! I am having a blast going back and forth to both your channels to see what you each come up with. Keep it up ladies, you are rockin' the Collag-ah! 😸😻
I can't believe how brave you were with this project Leah! I can imagine how challenging this project must have been. You absolutely nailed it! Nice job!!!!
That was excellent, really, it turned out so well. I wonder if some kind of large tweezers or skinny tongs would help. Dunno🤔 …. surgical instruments perhaps🤣🤣. That print Rosie gave you is my very favourite of hers, love it 😍 Good idea too of Rosie’s to do this particular CHALLENGE swap, can’t wait to see what you two come up with next!!
I think for next time I'd ensure getting one that is bigger. It would have more surface to cover but I think overall be easier. Thank you thank you ❤️ I can't wait either.
Sometimes I forget.... but, when fussy cutting intricate, fancy details, I TRY to do the "inner bits" first, because it a bit less fragile that way... then I cut the "outside"... ✂ I Love "under the sea" themes.... but I don't know very many facts about anything. 🤔 I think your project is awesome! 😊👍 looking forward to seeing what Rosie made. 😃👍
That's a great tip! I try to do this in practice but sometimes I forget in the moment when in "flow state". Glad you like it. Hope you like hers as well 😊
Beautiful project and collaboration! You have got to be THE best fussy cutter on this planet (and with those huge scissors 😱)! Loved it, thanks!🍀💖 Machteld (the Netherlands)
Bigger scissors are actually far easier to control. Using scissors that only fit over one of your fingers, rather than your whole hand or several fingers, is a lot less stable.
Bonjour Leah 🙂🇨🇦 Woow you made it 😍 The result is so so cool ,it was a real pleasure seing you not giving up ,I was on the edge of m'y seat went I saw you trying to clue the hand ,OMG that wasent essy lol ! After this you know you can do anything you put your mind to 👌I relly love this collaboration with Rosie, you girls are m'y 2 favorite surrel collage artists , thanks for sharing your great talent with the world 🙏
Really great! Wow - to glue on an interior concave surface - yikes! What a challenge, what a triumph! The paint made the piece, for sure! Rosie’s tray is great foodie fun! Glad to see this thrift exchange! Thanks much! Kathleen
Bravo, I was shaking my head throughout the whole video but the end result was worth the effort. I actually have that Vinyl paint so I may look for a clear glass plate to try my own. Now I need to check out Rosie's video!
Haha! Glad you persevered through the video. Definitely try it, I'd just recommend doing something that isn't a concave shape. Hope you enjoyed her video as well 😊
This looks sooo challenging but turned out fantastic! Around 26:08 is where I started getting nervous because that's where I would have started ruining it! If I tried this, I would take the advice of someone whose comment I read somewhere here on UA-cam, who said to glue fragile pieces to Tyvek before cutting them out. That's the only way I would be able to not destroy these pieces in trying to glue them inside a vase!
Oh, man! I wish I could watch this right now! I watched until the unboxing. Very excited to watch the full ep later! Side note: what is the word for a triptych but with six? 🤔 a hexatych?? Kind of a fun constraint to work with. I'm thinking it might be fun to try do a evolution of humans type piece in the 6 frames? Or maybe even the stages of metamorphosis of a butterfly or something? Definitely got my creativity and inspiration going and I haven't even watched the video yet 😂 You are both great ❤
I'm not sure 😂 Love the suggestions for the other frame, a progression of steps would be very interesting. Hope you watch the rest and like the final piece
cudos... love you both and enjoyed watching your art pieces... by the way i looked up the reason why they call that part of the brain hippocampus. it says because when it is removed from the brain, the hippocampus vaguely resembles a seahorse ..
Leah this was a great collaboration you both created amazing pieces, your completed vase looked 3D and retro too.The antique gold paint you painted inside made it look like a 'verre eglomise' piece which is when gold leaf is applied to glass.Good to see how you evolved the idea then found the images to realise it,the shape of the vase worked for the under water theme as when you swim under water things look distorted because of the refraction effect of the water. A great final piece (Matt) P.s have begun posting pieces for the October prompts list on my Pinterest page with a board created especially
I hadn't heard of verre eglomise but I really see the resemblance! Thanks for that note. I agree with your distortion! Glad your prompts are going well 😁
Definitely not a dumb question, although I took the time to seal the interior, I'm still too scared to test it so I've opted for dried flowers! I'm sure its fine but I don't want to risk it.
I've said in other videos I use a Brother printer / scanner. It was on the side of the road but is really great for it having a large flatbed area and has been going strong for many years. When finding a scanner get one that is as big as you can get.
Me: *minding my business doing a paper craft alongside the video 30 some years after being born in the 1980s* Flanzella: The 80s are CURSED Me: ...Can't completely disagree...
I thought you copied the pieces before gluing in so the news print wouldn’t show. i see news print on the hand. Not being critical just curious you did a wonderful job.
Did I miss something?? Why did you adhere the items to the inside of the vase? To utilize the depth of the glass? You don’t speak about it. The outside would be much easier and now you can’t use it for flowers because you can’t get the inside wet. Nevertheless, you are a brilliant artist, and I enjoy watching.
You absolutely CRUSHED this challenge!! Your underwater masterpiece turned out stunning. Thanks again for collabing with me---such a fun time 😀
Thank you thank you 😊 I can't believe I pulled it off, it was definitely a challenge. To many more collabs ❤️

I have NEVER seen anything like this !! CONGRATULATIONS well done
Thanks so much!!
What a nerve wracking process, getting everything inside there to glue it! But it turned out great and looks amazing on your shelf.
Definitely worth the challenge! 😊
So cool

@@flanzella Leah, *nods* it's easy to forget things when lost in the creative flow. Oh I did, I loved Rosie's too.

Great tip, I have heard this before. This is why I also like to scan first. Worst case I could have printed them out again on a different paper.
Great job, Leah! I love it! ❤🐙
Wow this was so much fun!
Amazing! Great piece of art to enjoy.
What an AMAZING piece!! 😍
Thank you 😊🙏
That vase is so cool! I def didn't think I wud like it and I just love it! Amazing job

Love the Rockwell plates
I may have bought them for myself 🙈
Really enjoyed this...and to see that you also struggle ☺️sometimes.. encouraging and inspiring 👏👏👏👏...3K
I'm definitely someone who likes to challenge myself which always comes with its own struggles. 3K, wooooo! Thanks for watching 💞
that looked really nerve wracking but the result is really beautiful!
Very! But worth it!!! Thanks
You killed it on this vase challenge- say no more. I love Rosie but you definitely get my vote! Great job ❤

Did you seal the images that you scanned and printed? With what? May I ask how you keep the ink from smearing? ty
Great challenge 💕💕
