I did a similar speedo relocation. I noticed that the wires from inside the gauge going out, is kot completely tight. Dont recall how it looled stock, do you think a little opening matters? Water will def get in there on a rainy day, but the rubber gasket didnt cover that hole completely when it was stock either..
Why the fuck dont they make a nice mini gauge for these sportsters??? The few ive seen are so stupid expensive i would never waste my time and money for it on the other hand i can buy a china special mini gauge for my honda for 10 bucks and it looks good and is half the size of these big HD gauges. What a joke!

What size Allen key is the back of the housing? I can’t get mine off and tried many different sizes
how would I find the back plate?
Is there a way you can mount it to screw that is holding tank. I want to keep forks clear. I have the same motorcycle.
