Definitely Cleans it up slot! Aesthetically looks BADASS 💪!! Question... Can you still mount a front fairing if you wanted to(IMO I wouldn't)? Being most fairings(ex: Road Warrior) attach to forks... I have Metric Cruiser, Apologize in advance if it's a stupid question.... Ride Safe
I did this joker machine relocation over a decade ago and loved the look and didn’t mind glancing over. Got my hands on another sporty this week and doing it again. Laughed at the gold toe socks in the video so had to comment.
I'm not the biggest fan of the side mount speedo, but it doesn't take away from how badass that bike has turned out. Can't wait to see the bolt get done and find out if I won any of these beauties, great work man 👍
I did a very similar swap, but instead I mounted the unit to the tank lift bolt. I eliminated the clamp for the fork and instead used the same thread pattern bolt to come across my tank lift to bolt the speedo mount...which left it nicely mounted to the left and below the tank.
8:47 pause and you can clearly see the left side of the harness did not clip in. If you did not double check it, good idea to pull that back plate off again.
I ordered a Memphis Shade Road Warrior Fairing…if I relocated the Speedo like this do you this the Speedo would interfere with the clamps of the fairing? I’m going for that Club Style look
Just put on one on my 05 sportster and took my old ass bout 2 hours and was Purdy simple.. thanks fer saving me money in the shop... keep it up and thanks
Good catch on re-installing the hex screws instead of the torx on the back plate of the gear indicator on the new mount haha. Not that it really matters lol, just tugged at my OCD tendencies 😂
at the start of the video I wasn't sure I was going to like the end product, but showing the view of you sitting on it proved me wrong. it looks pretty slick. nice job! -c
I just wanna know what that blue bike is in the back. Looks like a dyna superglide. Whats the story on it? Ill be back in merritt island at the end of the week visiting fam and maybe rent a bike and maybe bounce over to orlando(even tho when im back i try to avoid orlando)
Looks good! If your bench is not poly’d you can coat your bench with some type of wax and it will keep most things from sticking or staining it like spilled beers lol.
I'm not really into the Cafe style bikes since I broke my back, but it really did clean the line up of the bike! Purty sled,Blockhead.. 2 wheels down!!!
Hey blockhead love all your vids and have never asked anything until now. Im based in the uk in scotland so no hooe in hell of a giveaway so thought i would ask a question instead. Now that harley have axed the sportster range aswell as the street series i wondered what street or sportster riders will gravitate to instead
The profile looks great. But, Im a huge fan of "O.G.". You, O.G. & your vids. were a big influnce on me picking up my 2014 Iron883. w/ some custon pinstiping. Which brings me to ask you , When does the Blockhead fam. get to find out abt. that Incredible Looking "RSSV" Tank? The paint job & goldleafing look sick, Block. These paint jobs I have seen are totally Next Level, man. Hats off to You & the Painter. 🍻 Cheerz
Love your vids! Got a question! Is it necessary to remove the plastic (the ones under the side of the tank - the one you remove to do the wire tuck) before doing the install?
But i found the joker machine relocation kit without the indicator lights also on revzilla. Basicly the exact same mount but just a round one to just fit the gauge. And you can also the joker machine topclamp with indicator lights. I'll go that route. Just need to extent the harness i think
@@hermansnel6761 That sounds like the one that Block put on his first couple of Iron's. I really like the look, but I wish I knew someone locally that had it installed so I could see it in person to know if I want it for mine.
The one Blockhead had installed on its first couple of irons is the one that mounts to the tank bolt. The one from this video is mounted to the fork. Joker machine sells the same one from this video (fork mount) but without the indicator lights. So the gauge will be at the same spot as in this video so fork mounted, but the lights can still be on the top clamp with the joker machine topclamp. That would be my choice of doing it, but i dont have a sportster yet lol.
Being you did performance on this bike it would hav been nice if you added a tac so he knew want the engine is doing. Not a fan of the gage being harder to see.
Maybe a good place for on the other fork tube to put a tach on it. It'd make the bike look more matched up with the tach on the other side. Just an idea..
I was wondering if you’d ever given thought to using the cafe racer style relocation, it gets rid of the unicorn gauge but still leaves it in front of you, it’s what I have on my 883. Keep the fantastic content coming!
Hey Dopey, so HD changed the length of cables in wiring harness in the newer models for some reason….so I can’t do this to my Iron. Can you send me a link to the cafe racer relocation that you have? I can’t seem to find it.
Form over function bordering on irresponsibility. Advocating this mod that could distract a rider's attention from what is in front of them I do not feel is wise. Much of your content is good but I feel that I should call you out on this. Did I make unsafe mods when I was young? Absolutely. Fortunately I've learned not to after doing this for over 55 years
@@nickdulak1837 either way, you have to look down to see the speedometer. It's just a mater of where. Wonder how you feel about Harley's that come stock with it on the gas tank?

What do y'all think of the profile before and after? Let me know your thoughts!
I like it. Good lines..
Yeah, nah, not for me, I would have put in a mini speedo (or perhaps digital) and the idiot lights on the bar clamps.
Smooth as silk now

What bike is that top clamp from? I like that. Pure and simple “HD” logo
Would love to see you ride the bikes again and review the changes you’ve make.
Nice flex with that lumber just laying around 3:15
Man that would drive me crazy being off to one side. Can't wait to see how each one turns out and rides. Anyone else excited about the bolt 🔩build?

Great "How To" as always! What handlebars are those? Stay vigilant ✌️
They look like my Fehling drag bars

Good night friend! One question I have, is it really necessary to unplug the connectors under the tank?
Really cool looking! Does it stay on place during riding and all those Harley shake? As it is secured with 1 bolt only.
hey can u please help me out by telling me the hex size in 4:21
I ordered a Memphis Shade Road Warrior Fairing…if I relocated the Speedo like this do you this the Speedo would interfere with the clamps of the fairing? I’m going for that Club Style look
I like the profile. The speedo would take a sec to get use to. I think I like it on the frame better
I did the same on my sportster. It took 10 minutes to get use to.
Any updates on the sportster S build or the FTR mods?
Do you know where can I find an instruments/dashboard faceplate? My original speedometer ( 883 iron ) does seem to be different. Thank you.
Hello friend. Where can I get the whole kit for my iron 883. ?
Just put on one on my 05 sportster and took my old ass bout 2 hours and was Purdy simple.. thanks fer saving me money in the shop... keep it up and thanks
What size torque did you use to unscrew the back plate of the speedometer?
Will the process be the same with 2022 iron? Like no change in harness or anything
Which one felt like it was more securely mounted. The tank bolt mount or the fork mount?
I like this mount a bit better than the other one you did just because it is easier to see. Really improves the look.
What size hex are on the back of the speedo? I can't find a key to fit it for the life of me
Hey bro how do you know wear shoes when working on your bikes?
What’s the link to those risers!
I seen some cardo packtalk bold in the background, making the switch?!

What did you use to cover the chrome on your forks!?
I used flat black cricket paper from Walmart. Turns out the color matches the harly flat black really well. It was only $9 . and bam.
Which turn signal relocation kit did you use? Looking at the H-D set but they stick out pretty far.
Where can i get the black bar bracket?
Where can I get that top clamp???
Great Video Blockhead. A little off topic but what seat is on that Iron?
How much do you want for that old top clap/guage housing?
so where can you get a top clamp if you don't have another Harley?
How do I enter the five bike away
Will a rider 6'4" be comfortable on the 883?
Also how would a softtail slim be on the same rider?
Hallo I like your channel and they help me in my harley iron883 but there is oil cooler installation can you make a video how to install
Wasn't that "adhesive" also a seal?
What seat is on the bike?
After these few years, what do you think of this product? Is it stable?
Worked great for a long time, no issues
