    As promised, here is your guide to using training mode in Tekken 8 effectively! We don't go over every single feature cause otherwise we'd be here all day, but I did want to highlight several options you have available to help maximize your time in the lab, things like the remember feature are worth their weight in gold, so make sure you use it! Give a watch, like if ya liked it, and lemme know what you think!

      The most stupid thing about the training mode is that you can't pick a move from a list and have the dummy block everything after it hits. God, that's so dumb.

    This iteration of Tekken is OUTSTANDING 🙆🤯
    Everything this game has to offer is absolutely exceptional. But then to have created and implemented such a groundbreaking training mode with such ingenious intuitive features, truly lifts this game above ALL other fighting games out there.

      Tekken was one of the 1st games I ever had the joy of loving as a kid on the PS1. I was born in 1990, so was lucky enough to play all of the originals. I quite literally grew up on Tekken, and I am so happy to say - It Feels Like I Am Home Again 😊❤️👊💪

    Thank you for making these beginner guides for Tekken. These videos are seriously helping me. I started with Strive as my first fighting game and move to SF6. I still regularly play SF6 but I bought Tekken after seeing loads of videos online about it. After watching your 'How to choose your Main Character' video I settled on Jack-8 because he was fundamental bases with no crazy gimmicks so I could focus on just learning the game(I LOVE him, a perfect mix of goofy and badass with some sweet tools). I go online and proceed to get my ASS beat. This game is so hard, but these videos are helping and learning makes winning so satisfying.

    This is my first Tekken game and I am so blown away as to how many options/features they have in the game. All of the training things that this video showed like being able to choose which moves the opponent does, combo training, punish training, AI training. All of that in addition to the replay stuff like taking over a character mid-replay and showing recommended combos. It's amazing how many things they were able to put into this game. It makes me feel like I actually have a shot at getting half-decent at the game, lol

    I would love to see a video about how to learn a new character with training mode, or at least your approach towards doing so. I'm still new to fighting games and I'll go into training with a character I am not familiar with and just feel like... well what do I do? So I'll mess around with buttons to see how it feels, but I almost always just end the training session feeling like I learned nothing. It could be that I'm just not understanding how to use the character because I'm trying to play it like a character I do know (which are only a few from Tekken 7). So yeah, something like that.

      I find combo trials are kinda the best way to take a look at a character, from their if you think their combos look cool you go a bit deeper into your moveset but only barely. Sajam put out a great video about advice for new Tekken players(from a new Tekken player) I think it's called and he kinda says what you want to kind of find in your moveset before you go into games.

    These videos are incredible! Not sure what you have planned in the future, but would it be possible to make a video that's showing you learning a new character? I feel like that's the one thing that's always impressed me is watching how fast seasoned FGC folks like yourself (Sajam, Brian F, etc.) seem to pick up a character so quickly. I know a large component of that is just time playing fighting games so not something just anyone can replicate but I think it'd be useful for new-ish folks like myself. Thank you again!

The thing is it’s like I’m overthinking once I play someone that’s near or above my level. SF6 was very easy to understand even as a noob that never really looked into this stuff. @@rooflemonger Thanks coach. I'll go back into training mode and make some notes about what it recommends and see if I can't get anything further than the basic combos it wants from those moves.

    Kinda random question but I play Tekken 8 on an arcade stick and I don’t know how to reset training mode with it. Is there a way? Also I use a hori fight stick alpha if that matters at all

    • @rooflemonger
      @rooflemonger  5 місяців тому

      you do need a touchpad, so its by default X(which should be 3) and touchpad. If you have an older stick without a touchpad though, or a button that functions as one... you are kinda SoL

    Dude this is groundbreaking for me. Tekken 8 is the best for training noobs like me but stilll need more to explain. They should add a video hub in the game that lets you watch stuff like this all within the game menu.

    • @lordaizen8004
      @lordaizen8004 5 місяців тому +2

      There is a way to watch EVERY combo/move/etc. When you are in training mode all you have to do is scroll over the combo you want to see or practice and it will show multiple options. One being to watch a playback of the move being done, with ALL button prompts displayed on screen in real time as it occurs. Once you start practicing you can literally playback the training video with a press of a button, no need to open the menu again 👍👍
      This iteration of Tekken is OUTSTANDING. Everything this game has to offer is absolutely exceptional. But then to have created and implemented such a groundbreaking training mode with such ingenious intuitive features, truly lifts this game above ALL other fighting games out there. Period.
      LONG LIVE TEKKEN 💪👊

      @@lordaizen8004 I 100% agree and the tools aee amazing. My reason for wanting videos like this to be implemented in the game is to understand why these tools are useful and how to make the most out of them. This is where i feel Tekken can improve is not in adding more tools per say but by breaking down more information. Arcade Quest was a brilliant toe dip into the water and wish it went even deeper into the mechanics. Either way Im just happy this game is popping off like this and I bought my first fight pad yesterday!

      @@bananasean5145 hell ya friend I'm super happy to hear it!! Welcome to Tekken!! I was born in 1990 and literally grew up playing Tekken, MK and SF. Hand down, Tekken is KING and ALWAYS has been. This latest release simply edges them ever further from the competition. I remember as a kid trying to figure out the combos, there was NO wiki or anything of the sort. Lol. Just me and my friend locked in the training room for HOURS.
      That's so cool you got a fight pad too!! After seeing the leverless one he has in the video, I am SOO anxious to get one too. I normally wouldn't have even considered it, but I find i play Tekken with my right hand hovering over the buttons of my controller anyway, and use my index and middle finger instead of gripping the controller and using my thumb.
      Im on PS5, Idk if there is a co-op training mode, but even if not, I am down to jump into some matches and do some training and practice if you ever need a "dance partner" 😜💪👍👊

      Most of the time, it's one of the newer characters introduced in the game. In this game, Victor or Azucena. Not Reina though. She's sorta legacy, making her kinda hard for a rookie

    • @rooflemonger
      @rooflemonger  5 місяців тому

      its different for everyone, but my answer everytime is Asuka, Claudio, and Jack. Of the 3 jack would be the "hardest" but he's also incredibly straightforward. Don't gotta worry about stances(except jack, but he has the easiest to manage stance in the game), just your gameplan
