What happens when VW and Citroen both try to develop the same thing? VW of course make a well refined DSG gearbox and Citroen make something that is worse than anything you've ever experienced................
The Peugeot partner \ Citroen Berlingo have been around for quite a while now, infesting our roads with their mediocre existence. Good material for my car review though. I'm still not getting access to as many imports as I would like it'll have to do.
The partner, on the outside, looks ugly but practical and that's pretty much what it is. The good luggage capacity, good fuel economy and excellent storage areas around the interior sadly don't help you forget the bad bits. The driver's seat is notoriously bad and the gearbox is quite frankly horrendous.
Are you prepared to lose your self respect and own one of these? I have to admit, I did own a wheelchair access version of this a while ago for the taxi business but never liked it.
Pros: Easy access and egress, good fuel economy, practical internal space, good visibility
Cons: Ugly as sin, horrible auto box, uncomfortable seating, WARNING owners make develop self-loathing

Mechanic of 40yrs, you sir are a clown, in my opinion these cars are probably the most underated cars on the road.
As a former Berlingo owner I totally agree with you but I think this is a fair review of this particular car. I had a go in one about 6 years ago and I thought it was crap, my MK1 was far more fun to drive and practical.

Are all the partners well built? How do they compare with the Berlingo, Doblo and Kangoo?
@@mullahosk585 Had a few of both over the years and worked on many and the only difference is the badges, fantastic cars, very well built, reliable, economical and practical, what more can you ask of a car.
@@mullahosk585partner berlingo and the opel combo are the exact same, just a little bit of a different look, no use in comparing those to start with.
The other 2 are different but really similar style cars. If you want a minivan in this style thats different you need to go for vw, mercedes, etc etc but thats double the price

I got a partner 1.6 hdi and i understand the reason you only have 280 subs..
I'm not in it for the Subs or the money. More likely I've only got 280 subs because my work schedule hasn't allowed me to film anything in over 6 months :-(

Franku, I definitely understand the utility and to be fair the manual ones are actually far better. Had a 2012 WAV in the fleet a while ago. It used to drink diesel like a fish and was uncomfortable as hell but it did the job it was supposed to. This Auto version was, no joke the worst auto I'd ever experienced. A fellow taxi driver also felt the same way and returned his to the dealer after only 2 months of ownership! If you have to buy partner, get a manual, and the 1.6 Hdi is the best engine in the lineup according to popular opinion.
As an owner of Berlingo Multispace I'll stick up for these cars. Mine is 1.6 hdi with 90bhp and it's decent. It has air con and I wouldn't buy model without air con. It's not a driver's car but it's great value and long lasting. Look at what parts for these cost and you will see their appeal. I'd not buy the VW equivalent purely based on costs.
I appreciate a good opposing view from an owner. Hopefully your model is not an auto. ;-)
@@autofanatica944 No mine is 5 speed manual. I'd like 6 gears but it's a small quibble. I also own a petrol automatic Kangoo which is basically the same thing as Mercedes Citan. They both have some things I like but on balance I prefer the Berlingo. The auto gearbox in the Berlingo can't be any worse than the 4 speed auto in the Kangoo.
Tbh. The footwell storage i found to be quite handy. Theres ropes in one and starter cables in the other. Storage is the main strength of the car. It's basically a van.
This is the best car ever made.

I wanna tear my ears off after hearing this. The birds at 3:10 spoke more sense than the reast of the video, if you buy a cheap car then expect cheap design. If you want top quality and smooth gear changes then get your wallet out.

Might just be me but when I watch a review, I want to see someone who's impartial. You slagged it off from the off 😅
I fully admit, I'm biased. However, I did point out several positive aspects and I doubt anyone seriously considering buying one of these would only watch one review. Always get a second and third opinion and finish up by looking at one and driving it in real life. Finally check common faults list and just how common those faults actually are. If you still decide this is the car for you after all that, even I can't stand it, good for you. Hopefully regardless, I might have made you smile at least once. 🙂
Have 2019 Partner. Has a terrible AdBlue system - don't bother. Adblue fault ruined a road-trip holiday & we lost our money. A new AdBlue fault (one month later) is about to cost £800-£1500 and there might be another fault yet. And who knows what could happen next? The tank? Another NOX sensor? Another injector? Software?......Save your money
The design of the front is like me after a few too many cappuccinos 😂
NO A/C is just a specific UK specs order (same as TAILGATE as opposed to barn doors on passenger vehicles) as customers don't understand how efficient A/C is dealing with condensation , especially when 3-7 people are breathing inside under a great British rain ! So better blame someone else ;)
By 2014 it should be standard equipment. That's why I blame the manufacturer. It should have never left the factory without it.
Design flaws are not a customer's fault. I can blame someone for buying something silly but it ultimately starts with the people that made it.

What are you talking about these cars are fantastic with bags of room.
The auto box is terrible its unreliable as well. The manual is much better.

Did you not do your home work before parting with your money on this vehicle. If not you have only yourself to blame. I purchased a new Peugeot Partner and I have problems all the time with it. Paid €33,000 for this greatest load of trash that was put on the streets...
I didn't buy this one. I just did a video on it.
