Driving from Roanoke VA to Knoxville TN on Interstate 81 and Interstate 40

- (11-21-2021) Y’all asked for more so here you go! Enjoy as we take a drive down intestate 81 from Roanoke to its southern terminus at Interstate 40. From there we go thru Knoxville TN and end our video at a Loves gas station west of town at exit 364
I tried to stay quiet through the whole video but I had some stuffiness early in the morning and I apologize.

My parents and I rode on I-66, I-81, I-40/I-75, I-24, I-59/I-20 last month. Ever since we left from Washington DC to Birmingham via Tuscaloosa, Alabama for about a week, we have to see scenic view of mountains, downtown skyline, and college universities. We also stayed the night at Knoxville, TN.
I ❤️ these long driving videos from our hometown. I still remember the one you did from Roanoke to st Louis some years back. Keep up the good work. 💯

If you going into Knoxville, TN from Newton, NC, is it better to get on 321 and I-81 or 40w? Trying to avoid winding roads and fog.

My favorite theme park ever Dollywood is about a 6 1/2 hour drive from where I live in nova and I take I-66 W. to I-81 S. to I-40 so it’s a very simple drive down I-81

I am going from Roanoke to Knoxville this Friday actually. Now I'm driving it before I drive it lol! Taking an older lady who is from Shawsville who can't drive to a show at the Tennessee Theatre in the downtown area.

Back in 1973, I used to travel to Virginia Tech quite often. Traffic wasn't as bad as it is now. I encountered a blind man crossing interstate 81 between Roanoke and Christiansburg in the middle of the road. There were two of us and he wouldn't let us help him. He said he did it every day. He had a blind stick and once he got to the side he went under a fence and disappeared into the woods.

I see that bi-state 311 (VA 311 keeps its number in West Virginia) is still there - it was this exit that marks the furthest south I ever traveled on Interstate 81. (Yes; Crows is a real town - in West Virginia; WV 311 croaks there at Interstate 64. There is also a fish hatchery in Crows - run by the Vest Virginia Game and Fishery Department.) Heading east from Crows, you are headed back toward Interstate 81 - and that OTHER duplex the Appalachian Spineway has in Virginia.

I use a magnet mount. Got it at Walmart
