The Crowne Plaza was the Americana Hotel when I was there with UMD Pep Band in 1989. Those 3 elevators were Otis Touch and they were absolute rockets!... but there are a total of 7 elevators in that building; 2 cars on the north end that serve all floors including the parking garage... and 2 more freight cars around the corner from the other 2... and guests were welcome on any elevator back then.
The couple behind was looking when you said going to take this bite. LOL!
Really glad you liked the video! As for KC, my biggest gripe is the urban sprawl. Seems like going anywhere means a 30 minute trip on a highway bypass. Not to mention no real mass transit options to avoid that city traffic. However, they have one of the nicest downtown areas I've seen in a metro area of its size. Great redevelopment project. Not to mention Google Fiber throughout the whole city. KC has a bright future.
All the best cities are sprawled cities.
If you ever come back to KC I can show you the freight elevator in the Muelbach and a couple other early 1900 freight elevators.
Thanks for another great video.
30:31 I was Sh**ting & Pukeing my Guts out😂😂😂😂
Now when I went to Kansas City with Arc, I stopped in Kingdom City. But when I head west to Kansas City on Amtrak, I hope to have lunch while rolling thru California, MO.
i love your road trip videos. great work.
Weird we always use I70 on our clab
watching this was a blast. andrew should drive next time.
Its 9:02am CST in Kansas City,St. Louis,Austin,Dallas!!!!
Great video guys!
if the STL car show was held in KC,they would use the frieght elevator A lot.
Enjoyed it keep up the good work
Now that was epic!
Fantastic, guys!
i went to KSMO when i lived in NE. i always enjoyed watching the royals, going to oceans of fun and well... worlds of fun was literally worlds of fun. the 205 foot mamba at 75 MPH. to bad the timberwolf closed because of power problems when we went.
You two should have taken I-470 South to Grandview, and come for a visit.
I've been waiting for this.. :)
Andrew's car is a 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity.
You guys make for a fun team :) You should do more tours together.
You guys should do more videos like this.
That was a nice video. Great editing. I always enjoy these roadtrip videos. I hope that someday you might consider making a trip up to Minnesota :)
Wonderful
13:13 According to my (informal) plan to reconstruct I-70, the entire interstate would be separated by a concrete barrier (due to a third lane in the median), but would become divided at this bridge, so westbound traffic could have its own bridge. Eastbound traffic would use the existing bridge.
.....and @ 10:34: how much speed is a allowed? Awesome road......awsome landscape !!
It's undoubtedly a shining example of the proper means of gentrification and urban extension. I hope that it remains on the right track and isn't derailed by the ambitions of the few as opposed to the many.
I must say, it was an absolute delight watching the chemistry and amusing interplay between the two of you -- definitely a friendship for the ages. Kansas City seems like a decent area, but I'm sure like all other urban regions, there are neighborhoods that are best avoided altogether. The light show was the definitive highlight of the documentary.
You really should've did the elevator at the Embassy Suites in the Plaza. It's pretty cool.
Oh man quite a motor LOVE IT I love my hydraulic motors
I went to Crown Center mall in downtown KC, where I ate at Fritz’s and my food got delivered by train.
At 24:08 LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!!!
Columbia MO is also the home of the missouri tigers MIZZOU!
I love this video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should take a road trip all the way to Winnipeg Manitoba, if you have a passport.
The next time u come to kc do not go 435 way go into downtown and get off on Broadway. Turn left and it will lead you to the plaza. Like 10 min instead you waste time going way out of the way. The convention center is right above I70
Good job
49:42 Maybe that's why the second call button didn't light up.
dieselducy was so excited at 35:00
You should take a road trip to Plymouth, wisconsin to see the elevator at the americ inn
Yeah, i meant that, i just wasn't thinking that
Ah... St Louis to Kansas City... The trip where you will see the most cheap bridges...
Good Video
Thank you!!
Jacob, have you driven Standard(Manual)
Like it!
Very nice.
Nice video.
Ameristar has an impresseve water fountain, but I have not been past the fountain. They have 2 parking garges with elevators.
49:46 This is horrible! A long wait
Nice Gas Pump on Route 66 Gas Station on the Nozzle!
Note: The nozzle is the same as my Chevron gas stations
no. I VERY RARELY get thrown out.
Could you do a road trip to Cleveland, oh there a lots of elevators there to ride.
29:08 TJ'S McDonald's I thought Jacob hate McDonald's😂😂😂😂😂
He Hated McDonald’s Breakfast Food
Believe it or not, 55:55 was a total coincidence (I edited this video).
Hello,
very nice road trip and very nice elevators.
MfG Jan
I feel.
I like the video
Have you seen the elevator in Crown Center??? You will love it!
I went to the Crown Center mall but didn't make it to the elevator. Although I did ride the elevator in Legoland Discovery Center.
I live in the St. Louis area, and it seems that every time I go to Westport, the elevator is closed. Not sure if it's closed for good or what.
Could You next time film that Phillips 66 Touchless Car Wash
I Love Hardee’s Breakfast.
Nice
I know it's not but it looks like FL turnpike (SR-91)
23:45 What Nope Diesel Ducy & Jacob
Dieselducy, you always make really cool road trips! I always enjoy watching them!

On the First Intro Part, what music do you use it?
Does your car take mid-grade or premium gas?
kansa city oh when ill i go there i will have to think dieselducy ok ive been in alot of hotels tow traveloges and one prmeier inn and i am in the uk
8:38 WTF Crickets😂😂😂😂
124 miles? That's 200km! as you and Andrew alluded to.
andrew that gas station was a phillips 66
Well, one explaination for 49:29 could be that they have some kind of odd and even floor system like in the Netherlands.
Nice video of the day.❤🎉😅.
Thanks
When you upload this video when I was going on a road trip.
I do not eat at McDolands, but I must say, the oatmleal is not too bad. :)
Andrew i have a request for you to revisit market garage elevator
No warning at 21.56 seconds into the video there's a sign says right lane ends
The Missouri River bridge west of Columbia is going to be replaced construction on the new bridge is going to begin later this year and be finished in late 2024
3:15 The 2002 elevator
it's so weird to watch this video and have no understanding of the imperial measurement system!
33:36 What is that song in the background🤔
there is a part of kansas city in kansas.
Biscuit/McMuffin/McGriddle/Hash Brown.
In case of a fire...Do not take the elevators. So, the fireman can. .....Its the truth. C-ya.
about KC Royals "If you've never heard of them, I'm not surprised." "they're doing pretty poorly." Look at us now.
Clayre Barkema 2015 World Series champs 😎
Why did y’all make the Mario sounduc when you was passing by the truck
what day of the week was your trip? those fluid building are hard to keep track of. replacing that large a bridge takes a long time. i haven't eaten hardees for a long time. that rest area has a porch also. you a talent for finding external elevators. the 20 something floor should have 6 elevators. dirty floor elevator must mopped. otherwise it looks nice. nice freight/convention hybrid.
@18:50- Who the hell are the Kansas City Royals?. :D(Kiding of course)
Great job both of you!. Very well documented and well edited. Really enjoyed!.
Thanks for making the video!.

Nice video. It Looked like their GPS betrayed them on their way into K.C. ***** was correct to be a little surprised when ***** told him to exit on I-435 South (19:17). I cannot imagine why they would take 435 all the way down to 103rd & Wornall - literally going 50 city blocks (south) past the Country Club Plaza on the highway consequently forcing them to drive 50 city blocks back (north) through south K.C. on Ward Parkway to get to the Intercontinental Hotel - all while complaining about urban sprawl (21:20) and too many stoplights (21:40). That is like driving from Jeff City to Columbia by way of Fulton without using US 63. They could have simply stayed I-70 West for 2 more exits and got off on Exit 6 (Van Brunt Blvd.) or Exit 7A, and Van Brunt would have taken them directly to the plaza with minimal stop lights just as ***** expected (19:30). Basically the GPS caused them to waste 35+ minutes by going 9 miles past their first stop presumably because it was possessed by a gremlin. It was interesting to watch tho 😁
oh and i have seen the chiefs too... kaufmen (is that how i spell it?) is a VERY cool stadium considering the waterfalls they have. and i have to ask you mister dieselducy is the celeb a chevy caprice?
y do u go just to ride elevator when u can go walk in downtown
what did you say on the sped up part?
is there a road trip in 2 weeks
Dieselducy.
49:30 Jacob:Where'd the other elevators go!? I guess the rest go only up to 12 49:34 Wait, how do you get up here if you're on this floor, how do you call this elevator? I think It's the desk.
40:57 That elevator is weird, i never seen the doors stick out that far in the interior of a elevator before
Watch out afterwards
