Hi! This video was really helpful. I'm starting Accenture after I graduate college this year and this has helped me understand what I'll actually be doing as a tech consultant!
i worked for Accenture right out of school. Working for a big consulting firm is way overrated. That career was soul draining. It was a culture of vanity, popularity, and kissing up to the right people. It was endless hours of fancy presentations and consultant "lingo". Travel got old really quick. Career paths managed by "career counselors" and not your direct bosses didn't allow for the people who worked directly with you to have a more direct voice in your performance evaluations. Bench time was filled with useless work just to stay busy. Basically you were looking for a job...within a job. Kissing up and trying to know people to get on projects. Also the "laddering" system was tough too. Even if your team had 10 great peoplee....2 people had to be laddered out . Anyways...its better to stand out at a great smaller company....than get washed out as a little fish in a big company.
Hi Christine! Had to stop by to let you know that I appreciate your content - it helps tremendously. I just concluded my round 2 interview 6/30 and it was so interesting, uplifting and a great experience. Just awaiting a decision, but regardless of the outcome I’m satisfied with my delivery, made an awesome impression with interviewers and the immediate feedback was super dope. I’m in PA and was interviewing for the Applied Intelligence Apprenticeship program. Good luck to all who are applying🍾🙌🏾❤️
Omg I’m so glad my content helped you feel more confident and prepared! I hope you’ll get a positive outcome, and let me know if you do! Thank you so much!
I’m glad! My experience can be very different though since I’m in tech and if you stay in CDP, you should be fine while they removed me from TDP and into the workday practice!
I got accepted into Accenture federal services apprenticeship program in the summer, so I’m super excited to learn more about what’s happens. Any tips on what to expect or how the environment would be?
Congratulations!!! I actually have a video on Mari’s tips for the apprenticeship program! ua-cam.com/video/dbk6r96x-xk/v-deo.html Otherwise this playlist could be a good place to start! You got a job in Technology Consulting. Now what? ua-cam.com/play/PLibY-3NAtJvHHVEW4ARIX4u08XgaSgaYF.html
I would be joining Accenture next year (same as you, got the joining date for a year later) and I have been watching your videos not only to keep myself updated on Acn but also because you had the same exit opportunity that I want (from Acn to G). Also, loved the bit about stereotypes from the memes, yes they are often VERY true! 🤣
If you're currently an Accenture employee or an ex-Accenture employee, how was your experience? If you're thinking about Accenture, what are your questions and I will answer from my perspective! Let us know!

Do you think Workday HCM is more saturated/easier than Workday Financials? I know Workday is more of a HR system but I feel like a lot of people no matter their background go into HCM modules versus Financials since Finance and Accounting is harder to learn for most people. Or maybe people don’t want to learn/work in accounting lol.
HCM is definitely more saturated and established so it does not have a steep learning curve. Financials definitely has a steep learning curve because finance and accounting background can really go a long way to know how everything connects and flows. Most firms actually try to poach CPAs for it!
If you know your stuff, you will pretty much be set for life in workday financials because of how niched and specialized the skillset is. It’s transferable to and from other financial systems like SAP, PeopleSoft, and Oracle. Fintech if you wanted to leave the ERP world.
Hello ma'am I am IT Graduate I want to apply in tech roles at Accenture Philippines for (Game Graphic 3d). But I am not good in english what can u advice me?
Honestly there’s nothing else I can suggest other than to improve your English or look for non-English speaking roles. A lot of Accenture globally does need to know English.
Hey Christine, someone at Accenture commercial offered to give me a referral when recruiting season comes in the Fall. Kind of dumb question but I have never gotten a referral before, should I apply first and then ask for the referral or do I wait for him to write a referral for me first? What should I do in the fall?
I would wait for the referral first! It gets a little complicated if you already applied and you get rejected before it goes through because it makes it harder to circumvent the system! Having the referral helps for multiple ways is that a recruiter will definitely look at your profile and having a point of contact shepherding it internally helps to see what’s going on or even better if they provided a personal statement on why you are best for the role. I would still stay in contact with him and when late summer comes around, ask if he can make the referral for you!
Hey Christine, I actually have a refferal to join the metaverse team, but the lady who said would give me a refferal said to look for consultant jobs, what are the types of roles I should send her to reffer me? I am only 1.5 yrs out of college and have sold a company, mainly looking for entry level consultant level roles.
Entry level aren’t eligible for referral mostly because sometimes they come out of a different budget, but it sounds like level 10 may be your best bet to be honest. Entry level is 11. Analyst is level 11, senior analyst is level 10. Consultant/specialist is level 9, and that’s usually the one that trips people up because they go for consultant level as an entry level when it really isn’t. I go over how to discern them here!
@@ChristineWong Hey, so mine is this Modern engineering graduate role UK, so need your insights on the kind of technical rounds I would have, this is the final round
@priyankanagrare4557 I’ve never heard of “modern” engineering before, so I’m not so sure how much I can help you with that. It seems like a general and non-specific discipline so it would be hard to pinpoint how to prepare. You can always ask the recruiter directly what to expect!
By laborer do you mean blue collar or manual labor jobs? I think there is potential for office work, you just need to find a role that works with your strengths and help you work on your weaknesses! A role most people forget about is virtual assistants!
@@ChristineWong Hey I do gardening, cleaning services, usher, and delivery. Right now I picked up some shifts at a local market that way I dont drive that far. glad u enjoy your new work
You can try to go for a more administrative role within the gigs you have! Try for customer service or service roles that interact more with the client.
You are never stuck. If you enjoy your current type of work, then keep working at being the best you can be within that work area. If you want to shift to “office” work, I would suggest taking relevant courses online in your non-working hours. If you develop good communication skills (writing, presenting ideas, etc) and learn Excel, you are immediately employable in an office position.
Really informative video thank you for this! Just go ask, how difficult is it to acquire these certifications? Does it require extensive amounts of studying in order to get them?
It depends on the certification but for Workday, they are all training then exam. Some certifications out there are self study and then you take the exam which can take much longer depending on the depth of content tested. Workday certifications are only allowed through an implementation partner so not anyone can just get them. I didn’t study much for Workday certifications because it sometimes varies on if it clicks or not. Sometimes a lot of studying is still not enough to get by if your foundation is poor.
@@ChristineWong Oh I see, thank you for the response. I really appreciate that you take the time to respond to all your comments, that's a pretty rare thing sometimes. I'm glad I subscribed to you! 😊
