Don't know who currently maintains EnderChest, but if you happen to catch this, I just had an idea.
Ender Flask! Like the Ender Pouch, but for liquids, working like a bucket.

There's already ender tanks that literally do that exact thing.
+Tanner Parish I think he means an item, that functions like a bucket, but with those ender properties. Think about this, you have an autonomous activator, or something like that, with an ender flask in it. You also have your ender flask. You can pick up some lava, filling your flask, and the autonomous activators flask, and the autonomous activator will empty out their flask, emptying yours in the process. Not just an ender tank. There's things you can do with it, not that I know how practical it would be.
The mod Ender Tanks (distinct from the ender tanks that are in Ender Storage) adds the buckets you are looking for. I think it requires that mods version of the ender tank, vs the one from ender storage. Also, if you have a feature request for a mod, it’s best to post it on the mods Github page so it will be seen (and either accepted or rejected) by the developers. You post it as an “issue”, but can just label it “enhancement request” in the title.
I know where to submit mod requests, I was on the phone at 1 in the morning and wanted to write the idea down before I went to sleep and forgot about it :P
The purpose of the Ender Flask would be like when you want to fill a large area of water, for example for the Grid Power water mills, and don't want to run back and forth between an infinite source or an Ender Tank. Or for lava and water, when making obsidian in the Tinkers smeltery.
It's also a lot easier to have a single item that you can reuse over and over without having to switch or refill between uses, and having to set up a pump and a tank elsewhere would be a nice way to balance it out.

I hear there are some players that when they dont want to have to pass through a creeper infested area, they light the area up.
I hear there's even a block from some sort of magic based mod that illuminates caverns and other dark places in a large radius.

this is two months old my guy, also, he didnt.
he moved out and suppressed spawns through astral sorc. rituals.
having torches on the ground is less frustrating to watch than dire struggling with mobs, also.
he's better at PVE than he was...but still.

When you said lets build a teleporter, i had flashbacks of the matter transmitter/receiver recipes in AoE
Tip on a fun build around all the crap you get out of a mob spawner: I once did a build using MFR's disenchanter and auto anvil. Made it so that all the armor and tools got stripped of their enchantments to fill a library of enchanted books and then they got repaired with each other in the anvil and put on display in the armory. It was a really fun two day build.
He's done that before, and while it's a fun build, because of the mods that are in the pack he doesn't really have a use for an enchantment library. While DireWolf20 does fun builds, he only does non-functional fun builds near the end of the series.
Josh Martin I remember he has done enchantment libraries before but not out of mob drops. Otoh I can't remember what it was based on 😀
Yeah, he didn't do the armory display part. It was a long time ago, and it was MFR based. Agrarian Skies 1 maybe? I don't remember either.

Dire, you might want to try using the player interface, setting it to be able to pull all ores into a chest, and send power into you. You'll be able to mine literally forever, without coming back. Automatic refinement of ores you mine too
I would love to see the old frame quarry return in a new form!

Dire! You *CAN* place blocks with shift+right click with /dank/null. The only condition is that you have to be standing over the edge of the block.
Based on my observations with this pack, the loaded chunks resets every time you restart the game. It's very frustrating.
rftools teleporter needs power, but portal gun just needs ender pearls, and works across dimensions, and you now have the resources to build one.
I think when you updated the pack (like during the episode where you got the meecreep to make stairs n stuff) it unloaded all your chunks
Hey dire I don't know how much longer you're planning to keep mining manually but you should only use that bag for ores and use a manufactory halo to compress the dusts/gems in your inventory. Makes more room in the long run.
Get a numismatic dynamo! There is a specialization for it that allows for you to use gems for it, and those apatite crystals can be used. They go for 40 k per crystal and you always have a ton. Makes for a ton of power.

Dire you absolutely must show off the Cobbleworks single block from Industrial Foregoing .. it's one of the best machines in that entire mod.

Snowballs are like, the most free resource in the game, even moreso than dirt, if you just throw together a snow golem...
DW, Why didn't you change the Actually Additions config to display energy as 'RF' instead of 'Crystal Flux'?
The /dank/null will let you shift right click a block to place it but you have to be actually hanging over the edge.
This was a very good episode. Everything on point, very snappy, and lots of progress made.
Is there a way to quick-empty your /dank/null/ storage into the sorting input chest with a shift+right click or something? Don't run out of cobblestone now :)
Research shows that there is a /dank/null/ Docking Station for easy automated removal of items. Make that.
I would take Limestone back out of the /dank/null because you can stick it in the Compactor to make Marble, which you need craptons of, to make some of the higher tier Astral Sorcery stuff
DW20 - If you want to make your mining even more nice, easy, and enjoyable forget torches. Put a wand of illumination in your off hand and pop a light globe on the floor every 9 blocks mined. No more messing with torches ever. Your capacitor keeps the wand charged. Also mine at y-level 11 or 12. Same chance of getting diamonds but the chance of lava goes to 0. Dire please! Great LP so far. Having a blast keeping pace with or going just a bit beyond.
diamond chance is actually higher in the overworld then the Mining world lol
You can enchant thermal tanks and capacitors with holding enchantment and increase their capacity by 3 times
Not to mention strongboxes and satchels.
Very nicely explained, as always. I did notice a few DireDerps throughout your mining times though... Never dig straight down.. the Lava might not kill you but a few random mobs might.

the advanced dislocator from draconic evolution is FAR superior to using rftools teleporters.

the packs from forestry aren't programmable and only have 15 slots for the first version, I think the upgraded versions require silk, which requires bees.
The mark 2 dank null holds 512 of an item, and it does not have any limitations on what can go in it, so flint string wood solidified XP coal could be put in there. if he is worried about mining and filling up, could put like flint and rare pickups like uranium diamonds and draconium in there.
Now I'm starting to feel the Thermal Expansion vibe has truly returned! #thermalgadgetry
Hi Direwolf20, I just Ed updated the version of FTB 1.15. The dank/null is glitching other players. When placing a block of cobblestone in front of a player they can not see it and vice verse. Also placed a block in front of oilman and he glitched as well. Thought you should know and other players as well. Also, game crashes when the Chisel has no lifespan and u use it it happen to me three times. Thanks
You need to get the teleport wand. It's just 6 blaze rodsAnd 3 enderpearls. At this point in the game it'll be super cheap for you and a really nice way to travel, or at least better than the slingshot.
What's the point of the traveler's bag when u already can send stuff into your sorting system?

Install Chicken Chunks... i know, I'm late, but hey... It's still doing it, so... Yeah, it's a glitch... FTB Utilities forgets any loaded chunks at some point. Every time, and then, you have to re-load every chunk you want loaded, but it didn't even reloaded itself if you re-launch the entire very heavy thing!
I simply installed chicken Chunks.

Doing anything in 1.12 is hard. I cant figure it out without Enderio. Like Xnet just doesn't work and there is no substitute for red stone conduit.
Redstone conduit is generally garbage. It doesn't correctly directly connect to most redstone objects, requiring a piece of vanilla redstone between connections, and it causes unneccessary amounts of chunk updates unless you trick it into being always on using another channel. Not to mention the built-in signal strength loss from outside connections. Sadly, none of the superior alternatives are in this pack (or in some cases even in MC 1.12, for that matter).
XNet works great, although the redstone aspects of it are still WIP, so it can be hard to figure out how to do the tricky stuff. Integrated Dynamics is an engineer's solution to the problem, which means it's powerful, obtuse, and arcane. You can do almost anything with it, if you can figure out how to do anything at all with it. If you understand lambda expressions then you can be a god with it. If not, then I pity you the massive headaches it will give you.
i know i m like 3 years late but correct me if i m wrong, in this video i saw that once the dynamo fills in the internal buffer, it stops running to prevent fuel waste (with the augment for it), but if the dynamo is not running, its unable to move the power from the internal storage to the connected power cell, which is being depleted. Wouldnt that mean that once i install the augment and the internal buffer of the dynamo fills in, my energy cell will deplete since the dynamo is no more running and its buffer never gets transfered to the cell?
I can't find the config for the Flux capacitor (or any Thermal Expansion) and clues BTW I have updated to 1.2.0 beta

CofH has been the core mod for Thermal Expansion for almost seven years now. That's where all of the universal config stuff is.
is a snowman still a thing ? if so you kinda have unlimited snowballs and if i remember correctly you can run redstone in that maga crusible over snowballs to make blizz powder (i did it like that in 1.7.10)
He could also.. capture and spawn the various blizzes via industrial foregoing :-)
Please make some kind of storage system. Continuously running around looking through crates for a specific item sucks.
With the Dank Null, if you right click with it, then hold shift after, you can then place more block. with the Null.
Think thats right..... Had the the same shift/place issue.
Dire, you can use the orb from the mining age mod to teleport to the mining and back to your bed

Is there a reason to not just use the /dank/null as a mining backpack as well? You just gotta remember to empty it when you come home I guess, but the max tier /dank/null (Emerald) contains 54 slots and can hold up to 2.14 billion of an item type per stack. Even the third one (the yellow one) already holds like 2k items per slot and has more slots than a normal inventory... Seems a little OP, but I like it.
Nah, that's his void storage. He doesn't want to deal with having to get the ore out of it without also getting the garbage out of it.

yea that makes sense. I always try and get a Refined storage system setup as quickly as possible and I always struggle with power when I first setup the system.
Incorrect! You can shift and place blocks with a dank/null. Make sure to point at another block and not in thin air.
Don't forget you can Upgrade your Dynamo to Signailium also.

Your drill chews through power exactly as fast as direwolf's does.

I just use a dank null to hold ores. It can hold 512 ores at a time
I've played ahead a bit and have set up a quarry in the deep dark but i haven't found a way to transfer energy across dimensions at least not enough to power a builder. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Powercell. I’m using it to power a RFTools builder quarry in the mining dimension and a lava pump in the nether.
As much as I enjoy the drill I'm still more of an atomic disassembler fan

I need to try this. I briefly played with it a while back, and decided the drill was better, but I don’t think I gave it a fair shake. I wish he’d add Mekanism to this pack.
The simple fact that you can easily adjust the breaking speed makes it an instant winner.

Hi @Direwolf20. Really enjoying the pack, but is there an alternative to Redstone Conduit in your pack as no Ender IO in pack *yet and was looking to automate smeltery. I have started to use Xnet for my sorting system which is an all in one cabling system but does not have a redstone system that i have found yet. So would you know of an alternative in your pack.
Paul Preston integrated dynamics is useful for Redstone automation, but i recommend reading the manual as it is a little hard to use
ehm, xNet certainly did have a redstone system, glitchy as it may be.
why arent you using fluid pipes that auto output?
Integrated Dynamics while a bit complicated is a good all in 1 system using it for sorting items and essence from my mob farm/power generation system, unenchanted items get dumped into Industrial Forgoing enchanter into special RS system into Disenchantment Generator, and essence is moved using the same system and mob drops moved into drawer system also on same system

Why the hell did he capture only at 720p? Bitrate is so low that when he moves fast, like with the slimesling, it makes the video appear completely broken.
They could make it so that dank/null's GUI opens up when you shift+LEFT click, and it should allow you to shift right click blocks. Would be an easy fix for that. That is the same reason I didn't like the dev/null.
You can actually shift-right click to place blocks, you just have to be standing at the edge of the block (such that you'd fall off if not holding shift). So basically it just works, although you still do sometimes accidentally open the GUI.
I think matter receivers should have a more complicated and expensive recipe...
uh.... wat? *blinks*. WTF are you doing making a traveler's sack for mining when you have /dank/null?! Unless it's just ridiculously OP. Just the iron level /dank/null has 27 slots and holds 8 stacks each and lets you place blocks from it by right clicking (diamond (20 diamonds or 16 to upgrade gold) is 45 slots/32 stacks and emerald is 54/67,108,863 or 2.14 billion items, yeah, OP level)... also the /dank/null is inherently white-list based. Sure it doesn't filter on metadata/nbt or anything but... you don't need it to.

lol, not sure I'd go that far :D though I could understand wanting to give the audience options I'd just cheat in the different things and show how they work and then pick one and state my decision for why (even if it's as simple as "I like the looks", "I haven't used it before", or "it's cheap"), toss all the cheated items out and then obtain it legitimately.

Idk why but when i try to load a world on my computer it stops for ever on building terrain. It works fine when i create the world but after reloading it breaks. Do any of you guys know how to fix it?
sounds like your processor isn't fast enough to load the world before windows automatically shuts down the task

direwolf20 Upgrade power Extreme Reactors
In his modpacks the fuel usage is always set to 8X normal for reactors. Will need a good amount of yellorium to fuel it.
Doesn't he have /sethome and /home commands in this pack? I thought they came with FTB Utils that seem to be in the pack?
The only reason FTBUtils is in the pack is because the FTB Team puts his packs together and DireWolf20 isn't a big enough jerk to tell them not to put it in. You wouldn't know this from watching his videos, but he would be just as happy without it in the pack.
does anyone know if there is a way in the pack to move items between inventories via the mouse wheel, as i understand it that was a feature of NEI and with JEI i cant get it to work at all
adam lang download mouse tweaks it's a client side mod that does that
I think it's in Inventory Tweaks. My pack had it preset to be able to do it.

Just look it up through the in-game menu, but I personally have been finding it about the same as Iron yet as deep as Lead.
You can place blocks with dank/null. Just make sure red selector is on what block ya want then ya just have to right click.
Yes, but what he was talking about was sneak+place which only sort of works, sometimes it opens the GUI even if you are looking at a block.
And then there's me, beelining to a builder with a clearing quarry thing by hour 3 of a world. Run it on one dynamo, whatever. Mining manually is for the peasants.

Most of his crates aren't even a quarter full, why would he upgrade them? Besides, having multiple pages on inventory is tedious and annoying. Much better to just set up his now base, get real power gen, and set up a digital storage system.

But... Dire, the /Dank/Null is basically the sack you just made, since it filters on what you've placed into it...
I doubt Dire wants to void ores.
I doubt you would would carry 3K ores. Which is what the Mark V can carry and you can jump straight to.
