I live here. I've had the experience of living in other cities and other countries, but El Paso is home. El Paso is a lot friendlier than most places I've lived or visited. Great sunsets, good food, and plenty to see with Museums, historical sites, and nature. It's very unique in terms of culture and what you'll encounter in the rest of the United States. I suspect your experience in any place can vary depending on who you surround yourself with. My experience here has been very positive, but the local government leaves a lot to be desired. l would also say that El Paso is also very safe - you're not likely to run into trouble, but like any big city or metropolitan area...it's there. You'll just have to look a little harder than most places. This video shows a very inactive downtown - by the date, it looks like this is during shutdown or maybe a weekend.
I grew up there , I visit my parents every year there. I love Chico’s tacos. I live in Florida and I’m moving Back to El Paso after 21 years in Florida. But after being in big cities like New York chicago etc Downtown El Paso is boring and small.
I am going there in 3 months to see if I want to move there someday. I live in Seattle right now and I really don't want to anymore. So crowded now, its just too hectic of a city.
I'm trying to do the same research. Also because of the weather I'm in, I'm done with 6mo of cold ugh! Now with the pandemic, things & everyone are colder - I NEED LIFE in my life
I just got back from EP, second time this year going. I'm moving around May/June, I want to buy a house, nice homes out there nice areas, Try going to the East Side and Far East. Check out John Pena UA-cam channel, he's a realtor out there who has very nice content on his channel of El Paso
I live in El Paso and for a large city it’s extremely safe. I travel for a living and watching the local news where the big story of the day is a wind storm or a cat stuck in a tree is type of news you see daily in a city of nearly 1 million is not the norm. I turn on the news in other cities and it’s a world of difference. This also is one of the cheapest places to live in United States for a big city. 🤫
I'm looking to move to El Paso and that's awesome to hear. I live in Chicagoland right now and every time on the news is how many people shot each weekend in the city of Chicago. El Paso looks absolutely beautiful
@@Johnnyboy414 I wouldn’t go as far as saying beautiful 😅 but if not used to a desert landscape it nice to look at . Cost of living is ridiculous. Very pleasant and laid back. But still pushing a million people most people don’t realize. It’s an up and coming city I think! Constantly one of top 5 safest cities in Nation! I enjoy living here and using extra money to travel when you get bored of the dirt 😂
I lived here from 1990 to 2014. Bought a home on the Eastside in 1992, good neighbors, good friends... peaceful life, excellent area to live, and the mountains! 24 years of a peaceful existence. Retired, moved away to be closer to relatives, big mistake! I wish I hadn't, pero ya, ¿para qué? pues, ¡ni modo! Too old and frail to return, but videos like this go a long way in keeping my happy memories alive! Thanks so much!
What’s that building at 12:00? It’s nice as hell. El Paso has an unexpectedly good urban foundation upon which to build. I’d love to see it boom and become as large as the other 5 major Texas cities. I bet it would look even better with 4 or 5 ultra modern glass skyscrapers added to downtown. So much potential there.
Just to let everyone know this city shares the border with Juarez the second most dangerous city in the whole world and it is home to the Juarez Cartel. Yet El Paso is one of the safest cities in the USA.
Septims I live in Juarez for a lot of years now and it is dangerous but only for those who don’t have a place where they can be safe and protected people always die in poor neighborhoods where they mostly shoot and kill
I walked and driven down every street shown in this video. You did an excellent job capturing the sights. Downtown is not my favorite area of the city (prefer the west side where i can catch views of Canutillo and Sunland Park) but it was nice seeing this. again

Yes but not a lot like in other places

Downtown El Paso is beautiful with a variety of styles and periods of architecture.

Yes they speak more spanish than english over there
(And that's because I live there)
Wrong !!!

True. We speak 100% Spanish. Unless you are a worker in the big building for example the courthouse then its just like anywhere else, English.
The primary language spoken is English but of course many people speak Spanish.
