Lived in chuco town for twenty something years and it is ours. It’s big and trafficky yet we don’t mind. It’s proud and somewhat graphically segregated but not in a bad way. It literally means “the pass,” as it meant that travelers would just go on their merry way to Cali or Eastern Texas and vice a versa, and we feel ok with that. It’s safe, secluded and quite different to most US cities. Not much to do here and our cultural statistics are probably not quite up to standard but, our town possesses charisma and personality unmatched by few.

How about:
- Visit Juárez
- See the wall (I have seen a few tourists interested in it)
- There are very good restaurants in both sides of the border
- Hike to the North Franklin Peak
- MTB
- Skip chicos tacos
Juarez isn't El Paso though. that wouldn't be something to do IN EP, but neither is LC or Mesilla l so I digress... and I agree with skipping Chicos
Hey come on don't disrespect the chicos! 😂
Juarez isn't safe. 🙄
@@joez3706 must be some really dangerous cacti....oh wait, its dangerous because of one very obvious factor...thats also here in ep too...(think, before you respond)
@@WalkingPrepper Statically, EP is a safe city and Juarez isn't.
Thank you for sharing this video
Omg..El Paso! Unfortunately it has become a very sad place for me, because I was only there as a teenager and would only return to visit my mother and now both my mother (and teenage years) are long gone!
So, when I drive from L.A. to San Antonio, as soon as I reach the edge of El Paso, I start crying and can't stop, until I go past it.... C'est la vie.
Next time driving through, I hope you are filled with the joy of memory. Hugs.
@@trishwinstead28 I promise next time I go thru there, I will think of your comment and will focus (and be grateful!) for the good times.
Thank you for your kind gesture.
Not in El Paso, but right next door in Santa Teresa is the War Eagle's Air Museum.
I Love It here It’s cool!
so, like nothing was open while he was there but it was fun lol!
Mexicans are lazy
@@WalkingPrepper no they are not.
@@WalkingPrepper Trailer park folks like yourself are a lot worse.
I missed your voice! Great city!
I live a few hours West of EP . When we go over there; we eat at a Italian restaurant on Airway!!! I forgot the name of it 😱.
There is a lot of cotton fields here in El Paso el paso grows alot of cotton
Texas looks like a fun place to visit! It is on our list! Thanks for the info!
I would suggest visiting austin texas. it was the 2nd biggest indoor waterpark in america, the texas capitol)its bigger than the washington dc capitol), great museum, amazing downtown, barton springs, and so many more things such as hiking, kayaking, cool restaurants, and beautiful nature and landscape.
@@user-hi8iz Austin is actually one of the first places we want to visit when we are able to go to Texas!
@@FloridaandBeyond nice! another place i would recommend is corpus christi. its the biggest beach city in texas and is home to the biggest aquarium in texas, the uss lexington(google it) and a cool downtown
@@user-hi8iz thanks for the suggestion! We will definitely check out both places when we visit Texas!
thank you
Thanks josh. Loved it
There is Gracie Barra here in El Paso Texas there is martial arts classes here in El Paso I heard the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach got jump and beat up by a bunch of guys Isaw that in the news
When focusing on the downtown Art Museum enter the building and show some of the art collection. There is another art museum on Montana Avenue not that far from downtown.
Bars, hiking and shopping, pretty much it
Really cool video, amigo!
I may not have been born here but I got here as fast as I could
Sadly the tram has been closed for about 3 years now. State funding is required to get it to the point where it would reopen, so who knows if that will happen (the tram hit its age limit for public safety)
I'm so happy you made it to my stomping grounds (although I'm not from there).
If there was one place you could have save your time was “chicos tacos” 🤢🤮.
Theres also great hiking out there through trans-mountain.
Also, in las cruces you have NMSU (Go Aggies!), billy the kid as you saw in messilla, and the San Felipe church, I think that's the name.
You are obviously NOT from El Paso. I grew up there and Chico's is the first thing any expat wants to eat first. I've been gone for 25 years and go there every chance I get when I visit.
@@jeffsullivan3101
Not necessarily born there, but enough to know the area quite well.
Did try this contraption, but you can't change my mind since that incident.
I'll spare anyone if I can.
Expat in a sense too, away from EP about 20 yrs. Every opportunity I can get coming home is straight to tacos Al pastor, in which in north Cal (sac area), they suck!!!
Al pastor over chicos, anytime, anywhere. ✌️
@@pedrouscanga7794 Ok I will admit it is not the greatest cuisine but for a High School kid in the early eighties it was cheap and that's where all the girls went for lunch. Guess I still like it for nostalgia reasons. A&W was better but it went out of business when I was a Junior in '81.
The thing about Chicos Toacos is people ether LOVE it or HATE it. Very polarized.
@@HarrisJames85
At wee hours of the night, I've seen both ends.... (and ends results at both ends too. The Body doesn't like that)
✌️
When I moved to El Paso, I visited all the great spots. L&J, Kiki’s, Cattleman’s, The Clock on Dyer. However, when I tried chicos, it was horrific. It must be a running joke by native El Paso residents on tourists.
Awesome video my hometown 👍🏼
Great video! However, L&J is not Tex Mex. It is authentic Mexican food. That's why it is so delicious. Loved the showcase of El Paso!
Its def Tex-Mex. Not authentic at all
@@DianaCastillo-df8jj This is comida Nortena. Different from DF, or Baja, or from Guerrero. Chuy's is Tex Mex. They can't even be compared. Sad.
@@DianaCastillo-df8jj Tex Mex is different than that. I’d say El Paso’s Mexican food is unique to the area (El Paso and Juarez). So while it’s definitely not like interior Mexico it certainly isn’t Tex Mex you find in interior Texas
Definitely not authentic
I'd like to see you travel, interstate 10, all the stores, ceilo vista mall, restaurants..
Then take a good slow drive thru , McKellegon canyon. Most people, don't see the "window"
An lastly east to west, over the Franklin mountain.
If you have time ? The houses built on the cliffs, overlooking the West side..
Or Ascarate lake & park ❤
L&J’s !! Love that place. Great video
This video is fire
You forgot to mention the house next to the scenic with the scary rock statues
Nice screen name 😏
I live in el paso it is a beautiful city I would also recommend delectacos it is really really good
Did he say “Buddinese” temple?
I want to move there so bad

@@remzuh2397 that's so cool!! Since we have fort bliss here, a lot of people from Germany come and they normally like it!
@@arthurharpjr7974 well you don't have a say in the matter, Californians are Americans and if they want to slum it in El Paso well, more power to them. 🤷🏻♂️
Excellent Enterprising Emerging Evolving Endeavour 🎉🙏
You need to try Kiki’s Mexican Restaurant and/or Little Diner.
Very cool video. When did you visit?
