- Niçoise salad is a traditional French salad from the city of Nice that's perfect for your next summer dinner party. It starts with a large platter of leafy greens and gets topped with boiled eggs, flaked tuna, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, olives, and a drizzle of lemon vinaigrette.
After ordering plenty of Niçoise salads (Salade Niçoise in French) while traveling through France, I like to think of this as a fresher, French Riviera version of America's beloved cobb salad. But instead of bacon, avocado, and cheese, you'll swap in ingredients that highlight the Mediterranean coast. Think light seafood, briny olives, crisp cucumbers, and green beans - a palette that touches everything I love about healthy and fresh Mediterranean food.

I am fortunate to have had parents who, while THEY weren't that adventurous food wise, had many international friends. (And this was the golden era where you ate what was put in front of you, as a kid.) So I had an amazing palate for my age. Nicoise salad was a frequent treat. Anchovies and all! ❤
I haven't had a Nicosie salad in awhile and forgot home much I enjoy them. Now that it is so hot where I live, I am always searching for salads but with some heartiness to them. This should fit the bill for sure.

Beautiful looking salad! Simple ingredients with a punch of fresh flavored ingredients all which are easy to obtain. Hands down your method of cooking eggs is 100% fool proof and yours look so much more appealing than any other salad I've ever seen! Castelvetrano olives are the best they are so buttery, great to add this selection to any mezze plate one of my favorite olives.❤

I like salade niçoise with grilled fresh tuna and several salty anchovies. It’s a really flavoursome dish. Lucky you to have spent some time on the Côte d’Azur! Did you get to try pissaladière (a type of French pizza with fried onions, anchovies, olives and tomatoes? It’s delish too 😋)
Unfortunately, I can't have pizza as I'm gluten-free. But, that does sound so delicious!

Lovely video! One note if I may - please curl your fingertips under when holding food and using a knife in the other hand to slice or dice. Let your knuckles guide the side of the blade. This prevents accidents, too.

Yes! You can use either, but canned salmon will work best for a more classic Nicoise salad 😊
You certainly have this salad nailed. I wonder what you learned about the name for this salad - is the proper name Salad Niçoise or Niçoise Salad? I enjoy your channel and often refer to it for some great ideas and inspiration which I greatly need from time to time.
Definitely a very healthy salad. Tho I'm not so big on salads. I boil kale and collards until they have a slight toothy chew. Then eat it cold. Kinda like a salad.
If you were to meal prep this, would you recommend storing the components separately or together? And wait to put dressing until eating?
Love Nicoise but as much as Love it a lot to make for one person. Just one question: Anchovies? And PS if you can get them try Gaeta Olives in place of the kalamata.

Yum! I might cave and go pick up the now very expensive salmon from IKEA… Before the pandemic it was 4 for $12.99 and now they’re up to $22.99. 🤦🏽♀️ Then as I mentioned before, make the Nordstrom’s version of their Salmon Nicoise Salad!

You need to cut the extremity of "haricots vert" 😉
Potatoes have to be started in cold water (as all underground vegetables). If not, they could cook unevenly or be mealy.
