No Ron I use products from JG for plant based and Greene County for Liquid. I never heard of any of those products you mentioned. Your lawn looks great so these products are working
Good Morning Ron, thank you for the response yesterday letting me know about this video coming out. I will be using Humic Max, Carbon ProG, NutriSolve. I been using all this since last year. Looks like the only thing I need to pick up is the 901C. Thank you for all the advise. Tim Wolfe
I’m still waiting on my soil test but plan on Humic Max at the first of the month along with 901C and half rate PrimoMax starting April. Then spoon feed 901C and primo during the middle of the month. This is for Tif419.
Great information! In my situation, a large 8 ft diameter area in my bermuda yard had to be dug up due to a major sewage excavation project Now Im trying to encourage the surrounding bermuda to naturally spread over the bare area ( buying pieces of sod is not annoption at this time) What are some products that will encourage lateral spread of bermuda & zoysia? And is it okay to apply them now?
Fertilizer and regular mowing will do that. Yes you can apply them now. I'd go with Humic Max and the 901C Carbon Kit. Can buy both here: golfcourselawn.store/collections/lawn-fertilizers
Hi Ron. I just laid celebration sod about 6 weeks ago and Im following your spoon feeding program and the lawn is coming in nicely. I was wondering when will you cut off your granular fert such as when temperatures are consistently hitting, fill in the blank? I just had what I believe is damage from army worms on a large area of the yard and I applied some killer and have been seeing dead insects scattered throughout the lawn. I think the killer did the trick but now I want to push growth on the damaged areas before colder weather sets in. I planned on just using your liquid fert program from here on out every two weeks but I am tempted to do one last granular fert at 1/2 pound of nitrogen per 1000sqft. I live in southeastern NC on the coast in Sneads Ferry. What are your thoughts on when to cut granular as well as liquid fertilizers before colder weather sets in? I appreciate your time and greatly enjoy the channel. Keep dominating.
Hi Andrew. This time of year, I play it by ear to an extent. Really depends on what the weather is doing. Given that it's still fairly warm in northeast GA, you could probably get away with a light feeding in October if you wanted. Using a half app of granular along with liquids sounds like a good plan. I just wouldn't give the lawn the normal amount of nitrogen this time of year. I various based on where you live though.
I’m so happy I found your channel. My lawn is completely weeds. I have a purple lawn right now, and I have to determine what weed is growing. Thanks for all your tips. It gives me a bit more confidence in treating my lawn. Update- I think it’s ground ivy.
Do you recommend germinating seeds, soaking for a few (5-7) days, in lower Fairfield county Connecticut ? Will have to mix the damp germinated soil with dry ingredients...use Peat moss? Fertilizer? Please advise. I have a very bumpy, un-level side lawn as had to dig up yard to install water draining Cultech systems. So, will order about 20 yards of topsoil...I have about 5500 square feet of lawn/yard area that I will resoil and reseed. Further, any need to mix in sand? Lots of rocks, both big and small, in yard....Connecticut tings' 😊 Thanks.
I've never done that personally. That said, many people pre-germinate their grass seed and get great results. If you have the time, it can't hurt to try.
Sorry to say this, but this year I already ordered the Bio Stim pack from N-Ext. gonna roll with your stack next year. Can I apply all of those at one time? And if so should I water in directly after or wait? I don’t know how to say this and not be a tool, but budget isn’t an issue so applying all won’t kill me, just don’t want to torch the lawn.
No problem dj. The fertilizer should be watered in within a day or 2 of application. Nothing else I use requires immediate watering in. I apply all the liquids at the same time and I often apply the granulars on the same day. They're available here: golfcourselawn.store/collections/mirimichi-green
Been using mainly lesco for past 5 years, this year gonna mix it up. Try some next products while using carbon pro g in spring then transition to next. Milorganite summer feeding while sprinkling a lesco granular fertilizer between next feedings
@@blackhornet25 Thanks for the tip. I went back and forth about purchasing the 6-0-0 but think I will. Just wished I did before price increase. Their grass seed is awesome as well.
You always have great videos and content. I haven't jumped on the MG fertilizer line yet but have bought your other recommendations like CarbonPro-G, Acelepryn, PGR, etc. For fertilizers I have been all over the place using The Anderson's PGF that Doc pushes and lately trying Protene that Pete uses. Last summer I tried the Yard Mastery 17-7-6 for fun but the prill size was way too large for short bermuda and it sat on top until I forcefully sprayed it in. For liquids I have been using the N-Ext line along with Pete's CalTide. I will say you have simplified the process with this line and make it easy to understand as well as having a great looking lawn to back it up! Nice job...
Hi Ron! I just got my soil test results and found out that I al very deficient on micronutrients but Iron levels are very high. I was looking forward to use nutrisolve but now I am not sure, I am trying to apply something with none to minimal Iron. Any suggestions? Thanks

Humic Max going down next month Jerry. Without seeing your lawn it’s hard to say if you should be watering now. Once it starts to get hot and there’s no rain, I’d water. ~1” per week.
Going to try the Essential G. I'm in Florida with very sandy soil, this seems like an easy and non backbreaking way to get some organic matter and nutrients into the soil
Morning Ron, quick question, if were using 901C instead of Turfplex, at what rate are we applying it bimonthly? Turfplex is great but I’d like to swap over to 910C.
Nah. I've applied it as high as the 90s without issue. Use split applications. It's explained here: golfcourselawn.store/blogs/diy-lawn-care/how-plant-growth-regulation-can-make-your-lawn-thicker-and-greener
I always love your content! My only wish is you were in the transition zone with cool season grasses. 😆 You turned me on to Carbon Pro G and I thank you for that. My yard is looking the best I have ever seen it. I over seeded last fall with a Texas type bluegrass, spreading perennial rye gras that was selected out of plots in Virginia, and a spreading TTTF. Last year I had way too much brown patch and I attribute that to a lack of drainage, lack of potash, less than desirable soil pH, and too much N. I have finally found after 5 years how to get my soil pH up. I am going with a softer fertility program - Screamin Green and the Whole Shebang. I am also using from DPH Biologicals a product called SP-1 T&O. This has Plant Based Humus Extract, Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria, and fermented plant extracts. This product is amazing in that it changes the soil very quickly to be more granular, increases ability to increase drainage bit yet retain water in the micropores. I have never seen anything do something as quickly as this has. Looking forward to a very good year.
So the lbs of nitrogen you are putting down a month total is still less than 1lb? Do you do the same each month throughout the season or do you ever up the rate or lower the rate depending on the temperature/month? Do you know what your total lbs of nitrogen you are putting down in a year?
Great info 👍 Ron I'm going back with HUMIC MAX, Turf Plex and nutrisolve this season had great results .. I'm thinking about 901c and the other liquid carbon which liquid carbon can I add with my program 🤔 thanks

Great info Ron , I have Humic Max ready to go and looking forward to getting back to biochar applications very soon (ground finally thawed and soil temps creeping up out of the 40s lately). Looking forward to adding Nutri-Kelp and Nutrisolve into the mix ; been looking for a good liquid option for micros and especially with a cool-season lawn I think the kelp in particular will help going into and through the hot summer months. Plus both products seem to be just great for the grass in general. With the Humic Max I have a question , i used it the end of last season but if I go with a heavier rate will it last longer than one month ?
Hi Andrew. Humic Max is really designed to be last 4. - 6 weeks. Increasing the rate to 5 lbs per 1000 sq. ft. is going to bring your nitrogen input up to .80lbs per month. You wouldn't want to add too much more to prevent excess growth; especially as temps get higher. Appreciate you watching sir. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
@@RonHenry thanks for the info Ron , not sure if you can talk about it much yet but how is the fertilizer going that you mentioned on a few livestreams that you are developing with a company ? Hoping to be able to buy and try that this season if it is ready by then.
Hi Dawson. Yep. Since last year I’ve bee n using Essential G. Newer formulation with more benefits. I’ve completely replaced Carbon Pro G and L with what you see here
Great info. Will help with my purchase decisions. Can you describe where your PGR fits into the bi weekly spoon feed spray program? Also how about insecticide and fungicide (only as needed?). Cheers
Hi Tom V. PGR is once per month at the beginning of the month usually starting in May. Insecticide early net month. I'd go with Acelepryn in either liquid or granular. Apply fungicide in May. Go with Headway G. Can see both products here: golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide Hope this helps.
Ron thanks for the awesome videos. I have been keeping up with you for 2 years. I have a question. I'm only able to get what's in my budget as an average homeowner. Will a 24-0-4 plus iron be a great start for my lawn for my 1st application in spring. It's by Fertilome...granular
Hi Ronald. I've not used that fertilizer but if the reviews are good for it and you're choosing it based on your soil test results, I'd roll with it. Appreciate you watching all this time. Let me know if I can help with anything else. 😎
Hey Ron. I’ve already scalped, aerated and verticut. Is it too early to top dress w sand? I’m loving this 70 degree weather in west Texas. I know it’s recommended during may/June, but it’s hot than. Ur take?
I'd wait to top dress until the lawn is actively growing Randy. If you're at the point where you're mowing a couple times per week, then by all means go for it. If it were me, I'd wait until next month.
Hi Scott. That case you can simply use the granular products and increase the rate slightly. You'd run Humic Max at 5 lbs per 1000 square feet and Essential-G as much as your budget allows. Both are on the homepage of golfcourselawn.store Hope this helps.
Ron, with regards to the liquids and applying twice per month, are you using the 2oz per 1,000 SF for each application (or split between both applications) or using a higher rate? The bottle says a a range from 2-7oz per 1,000 SF and I just don’t want to over apply. Thank you so much sir! Love your content!
Split the rate if you're applying twice per month MP02. Most people do the Carbon Kit once per month at the beginning, but if you want to split the rate between 2 applications that can work too. Appreciate you watching sir!
@@RonHenry I ordered the 901c, Kelp, and NutriSolve. I also plan to use the humicmax as well. Using the spoon feeding method with both liquid and granular as shown in your videos. Should I do granular and liquid at the first of the month (3lbs per 1k & 2oz per 1k) or split the liquid 1oz per 1k) twice per month? You mentioned that most start out with full liquid 2oz per 1k at first of the month, does this apply when using both liquid and granular?
I have 2 options George. For season-long grub and armyworm control, go with Acelepryn. How much of the phosphorus in the ground is available for uptake? At least in FL I've read that the naturally offering phosphorus is not readily available and adding phosphorus helps lateral root growth.
@@RonHenry inside my soil test and it came back in the mid 6s. I spoke with a SiteOne rep. He advised the phosphates found in Central FL soils are not readily available. Interesting. Thank for the reply.
How strange. Mine is so similar. I’ll be running Humic Max, Turfplex, Essential G + the YM Bio Stimulate Package with that same TJet nozzle. Weird, Lol. Thanks for all you do, Ron…
If your using a liquid fertilizer and a soil enhancer like release zero together, which Teejet nozzle would you use. Because liquid fertilizer you want to use a foilar tip and release zero you want to use a soil tip.
Hi Jeremy. Release Zero will work with either really. If the fertilizer you're mixing it with is designed for soil, I would use an air induction tip. Just let the mix sit for a few hours before watering in the liquid fertilizer. This one is a good in-between choice: amzn.to/3fIexOD Let me know if you need anything else.
I missed the pre-emergent window and now starting to see weed. What’s the safest weed killer(budget option) that can be safely used during spring green up without harming the lawn. Celsius is unfortunately not an option for me

@@RonHenry Thanks Ron. I’m reading a lot about how it’s only safe when grass is actively growing and all green. My grass in only about 20-30% green at this time. Will it still be safe?

Yo Ron whats the name of the post emergent weed killer you use for Bermuda i was using Tenacity but u recommended a different product that worked better with Bermuda but forgot name
Hi Louis. @@9thWard5386 Tenacity is for cool season grass while Certainty is warm season. So the 2 products aren't interchangeable. In warm season grass Certainty is about the best you can get for controlling sedges and poa annua in warm season lawns. A little bit of the product goes a long way so not something you will frequently have to purchase. Hope this helps.
Hi Ana. Much of the cost associated with this products is either shipping or the fact that they're very concentrated. I don't really have an alternative that has the same effectiveness at a lower cost.
Yes, carbon/humic (humic is carbon chains, carbon rings?, and organic acids) helps soil in the first few years (I've witnessed and think its amazing). But, can you apply too much carbon in a single app? Apply too much using carbon products every application? what about continued use over years? Seems to me like the same problem you see with Phosphorus, except lasts a few hundred years longer and doesn't get up taken by a plant in any capacity. It lasts 1,000s of years potentially. Imagine the carbon build up if it stays for 1000s of years? I would think there has to be limit or maximum entry to get a equal result before you get a negative or are just wasting buying higher priced chemicals that include Carbon? (Im thinking organic fruits...their higher price rarely increases nutritional value) Also, with all Global warming concerns...some science shows some carbon stays in the soil for thousands of years...however, some shows it can also dissipate to the atmosphere and thus increase carbon in the air that increases global warming. Just questions. I don't expect an answer. However, hoping others might chime in and give me their two cents, or help my understand why we keep applying Carbon or Humic app after app. Cheers Lawn Care World! Keep it green!

Great video as normal! Are you not using Carbon Pro-G and Carbon Pro-L this year? Are some of the things you are using replacing them?
Hi Dawson. Yep. Since last year I’ve bee n using Essential G. Newer formulation with more benefits. I’ve completely replaced Carbon Pro G and L with what you see here
@@RonHenry Thanks, Ron!
What pressure setting are you using on your sprayer when applying the liquid applications?
The low setting on the YM sprayer.
Hi Ron, another great video. What pressure setting do you use on your backpack spreader?
Hi Joseph. For foliar sprays, higher pressure setting. For soil applications lower pressure setting.
Great stuff!
Appreciate you watching Luis
Hey Ron if I can’t get Nutrisolve, is there anything available that would replace it?
Yep. This product Willie: golfcourselawn.store/products/minors-blend-sunniland
So Ron, I don’t have the $200-$300 sprayer. Is there a plan with dry versus your planned schedule?
Hi Scott. That case you can simply use the granular products and increase the rate slightly. You'd run Humic Max at 5 lbs per 1000 square feet and Essential-G as much as your budget allows.
Both are on the homepage of golfcourselawn.store Hope this helps.
@@RonHenry thanks Ron, I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing with liquid fertilizer. I’ll work towards getting a battery powered sprayer.
Hey Ron!! In terms of the liquids, what about just Turfplex and NutriSolve?
That can work Marvin. You'd have to increase the application rate but it's definitely an option.
Do you do anything for insects either monthly or annually? Last year my backyard was able to pull up like a carpet. I have biovanded for grubs
I have 2 options George. For season-long grub and armyworm control, go with Acelepryn. There’s liquid and granular forms available here: golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide
For a non-toxic option to control mosquitos, whiteflies, fleas and tons more, check out This pest control product: golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide/products/mirimichi-green-pest-control-free-shipping There are videos in the product description that show how to use both. Let me know if I can help with anything else. 😎
Do you use any solubles?
Not really Ptro
Hey Ron! I am struggling with barnyard grass in my Bermuda and was wondering if you know of a product that will kill this stuff
Hi Mason. Quinclorac DF should do the trick. Can get it here: ron-henry.com/quincloracdf
Thanks so much, I had also commented about centipede and you said to use this also, so glad this will take care of it, appreciate all the help!
How much of the phosphorus in the ground is available for uptake? At least in FL I've read that the naturally offering phosphorus is not readily available and adding phosphorus helps lateral root growth.
Hi Richard. There should be plenty available especially if your pH is ideal (mid 6s)
Great minds think alike Daniel!
@@RonHenry so I purchased the TurfPlex, release zero and nutri kelp.
@@jeremyespinoza279 Appreciate the support Jeremy. I would just use a foliar tip. That's what I use with that combination. This one: amzn.to/3DgXoWD
Using pre emergent, post emergent, and PGR
Nice Nicholas
Thanks for the knowledge. Very helpful keep up the good work.
@@ernestbrown2521 Thanks for the support Ernest.
I missed the pre-emergent window and now starting to see weed. What’s the safest weed killer(budget option) that can be safely used during spring green up without harming the lawn. Celsius is unfortunately not an option for me
Hi Shrey. You can still apply pre-emergent. A good option that won't break the bank is Triad Select: golfcourselawn.store/products/broadleaf-weed-control-triad-select-3-way-herbicide Let me know if I can help with anything else.
@@RonHenry Thanks Ron. I’m reading a lot about how it’s only safe when grass is actively growing and all green. My grass in only about 20-30% green at this time. Will it still be safe?
That looks like Bermuda. So what about a cool season grass?
Same thing. All these products can and are used on cool season grass Navmcc. Can learn more about them here: golfcourselawn.store Appreciate you watching.
Where can I get
You can get them here Bishar: golfcourselawn.store/collections/lawn-fertilizers
Any way to include the Scott's Elite spreader settings on the website?
Just added Jameyhaz. It's the same as the Deluxe.
@@RonHenry great!! good info
@@jameyhaz Anytime sir!
Yo Ron whats the name of the post emergent weed killer you use for Bermuda i was using Tenacity but u recommended a different product that worked better with Bermuda but forgot name
Hi Louis. It's Celsius. golfcourselawn.store/products/celsius-wg-broadleaf-and-grassy-weed-control-for-warm-season-turf Combine it with Certainty for really good coverage of most of the common weeds in your Bermuda. golfcourselawn.store/products/certainty-herbicide-1-25-oz-sedge-and-poa-annua-control Here's a video on how to mix them: ua-cam.com/video/0wxW3zXrvX8/v-deo.html Let me know if you need anything. 😎
@Ron Henry yeah it was certainty can certainty be used separate of u gotta mix with Celsius
@@9thWard5386 It can be applied separately Louis. Doesn't have to be mixed with Celsius to be effective. Just depends on which weeds you're targeting.
@@RonHenry whats different between tenacity and certainty price is almost double
Can you give us an affordable version?
Thanks for your comment Neal. Appreciate you watching.
