My TCL Roku 4 series 65 inch backlight just died after 4 years 5 months, today. I was curious about the new Roku TV's thanks for the video. I was curious if you can toggle on/off with HDR, 60 fps, like the Roku Ultra.
Settings on my TCL look the same except no Dolby. Can the rechargeable remote battery be replaced with either a standard or a new rechargeable? How's the sound?
Hi , thank you for this review -- huge help !! Can you please tell me if the wired headphone output is fixed or variable ( when wearing headphones , can volume be controlled via tv's remote volume ) . Is there an 'On-Timer ' ? thanks , Dreamer
Im using the 50 S 451 model 50 inch. Anyone on the fence ...Im going to auggest if you are on the side if decnent VG type technology and decent cpu running the roku software they both work better than the price point. As far as gaming it will via the hdmi run at 11ms to 12 ms latency which is spectacular for the price. The color gamout is about as spot on as any LCD ive tested in this price point in fact i would use for editing but mainly in Movie mode with brighter setting. The auto modes in each setting is a bit off as i like to choose my own settings as auto can restrict some choices such 2.0 vs auto keeping 1.4 again requiring hdmi selected to try the compatibility mode which i think is their 2.0 ove stand 1.4 which you cannot assume it will run 2.0 in standard. Or auto. Aside from those small gripes its outstanding and most will not notice the geeky stuff mentioned. 😅. 220 we paid last year for this one and its amazing. The sound quality is fine but for flat in this price...just plug in if in a pinch your pc speakers if you have decent media 2.1 using the headphone jack 3.5 and be happy ..if you have a pc with actual monitors which i have both , use the monitors. Absolute sublime sound as i use Klipsch pro media right out of tv headphone jack called pro media 2.1 which is outstanding bass and warm audio. When i use my DAW or pc i use the tv as a monitor via hdmi and the sound with my interface and monitors is scrumptious. Behringer truth 2030a set. Anyway. This is a decent bargain that any company will enjoy this viewing experience regardless. Avoid Sceptre. Trust me. Spend 20 more and get the TCL. ❤🎉
This Roku plus tv sound quality like the movie theater speakers. This is why it’s more worth it than oled tv’s like 2 grand ($2000) for a 65 inch version while you can get this Roku tv same size for only $600. (Dolby vision & atmos included)
Made by TCL so I've heard. I'm really anxious to see how well they sell with all of the other competition in the TV market. Possibly a good TV for the average TV consumer who doesn't care about the bells and whistles of the more premium TVS out there.
I wish they would have implemented ATSC 3.0. There are several local channels I get over the air that are 4K. It appears the only TV in this price range is the Hisense U7N…Google TV… ugh.
@ I think I'm gonna go with a Roku TV TV, I just need to decide between the select level and the plus level I can't really go over $450, and I watch a lot of sports no gaming on my TV, sports and movies thanks I appreciate it
@@jmargo23 Plus Series comes with Roku Voice Remote Pro. I think the Plus/Select picture quality is pretty similar. Both Roku's have HDR while the Philips doesn't. So probably highest picture quality is with Roku's, but compare the sales price of all 3 and you might consider going with the lowest priced. I think all 3 can connect to the Roku TV Wireless Soundbar if you want better audio.
The Roku TV soundbar is front wireless speaker left and right. The Roku Soundbar has Roku operating system baked in left and right audio. While the Roku speakers are left and right but can be placed in the front or back for surround sound.
The Pro is Mini LED so yes it should look better than the Plus. So if you have the money and want the best Roku TV by Roku then go with Plus. Sharp does make a Roku TV OLED but I haven't tried it out.
Well I don't like the Fire TV operating system. I think it's poorly designed. Hardware wise I've not tried their TV to know whether or not if it's good. How much did you pay for the Roku TV? Best Buy has been having sales.
@@ltspeirs333 it's on sale for $499 at Best Buy right now. You could always ask them for the discounted price. If they don't give it to you return the TV and buy it again.
They should make the remote better quality Perhaps have lights on the buttons or be glossy or something. Idk nice TVs but the Roku remote even tho it’s simple they should make it look a bit more premium Idk
yea always hated my roku remote. i dont like where the sensor is for it, it should be on the top, not the bottom. and the clicking noise. my god the clicking noise.
@@MooseMeus haha some Roku remotes are a bit softer on the remote but the tv clicking noise at night time can annoy me lol. My x80k I keep my remote sound on cuz it actually makes the tv feel a bit more premium
@@solarsynapse I was able to setup a Roku remote with a sound receiver. Never setup a Roku TV with a universal remote but it has got to be possible. Ask Roku support. You could also switch to Roku lights and control them with your voice remote.
I do think oled looks the best. Sharp now has a Roku oled. Roku is coming out with a mini led that should look better than this. But we'll see. Of course both of those cost more.
It's about time Roku builds their own tv. Instead of just building the streaming for other tvs.
I might pick up the 75" plus as it's now on sale for $799. Going to wait until the end of next week to see if it goes down any more!
Good luck!

A TCL TV with the ROKU name on the frame. Same exactly basically. I don't see any big difference between the two.
No. The picture quality and color accuracy is way better . I own both.
All Roku devices work similar. I have a ONN Roku TV.

@@TheSQL-Lover You probably have a 4 series TCL, this is comparable with the 5 series.
Awesome review! I love this Roku TV!

I had to see if the TV could engage.

How’s the scaling for SD content?
The TCL 5 series 2020 is great, but the 2022 is not. Maybe this Roku is better.
Can the feet be installed inwards so they are not so far apart?

Can you get different remote with hot buttons for Hulu or other streaming?
I think you should be able to if you find a compatible Roku remote with Hulu on it.

Maybe some parts come from LG.
Prove that it is all from TCL.
People had said it's manufactured by TCL. But I don't know if that's confirmed. TCL does make TVs for other companies.
Not really. I don’t think any other roku tvs have wifi 6? To me looks like Roku is improving the experience instead of focusing on the picture quality
@@meanstoandend yeah seems like they're trying to step up Roku TVs to having higher end expectations with still low prices.
No it’s not . In fact, this is a direct TCL competitor.
We need to buy Roku speaker in order to connect our own subwoofer? 😊

Shouldn’t it have 120 refresh? Does it matter?
If you have to ask if 120 refresh matters then I don't think you'd notice a difference.
Mostly for gaming. Streaming never goes that high.
So I will assume the remote will work with a soundbar, finally.
Yes. I did a video on the Roku TV wireless soundbar. It'll be one remote.

OLED or QLED?
Qled. Sharp introduced the first and so far only Roku TV OLED end of 2023.
